Ptt Pink is Pratty colour Jose not wanting to wear it this early.
Seriously though Jose will likely fade as race goes on.
Holloway just not getting the rub in these sprints which is a shame.

Feeling a bit sorry going for experience instead of sending my A tea, but yeah breakaway it is then. Awesome work by Stuyven getting the KoM for a few days and even trying for more after that. Pelucchi is starting to get a name for being nowhere when the trains form, then get a top 10 out of nowhere.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Pretty invisible Oz team so far.. at least, an Aussie took the stage.

Good ride from Ellisonde to stay up there I think Pichon could be injured though which is a big disappointment :: |

Another podium for VS is of course good but of course i hoped for the win. Congrats to Roman who must enjoy to have someone other than Bewley win sth for him
A bit of a shame that Dzamastagic and Smirnovs did not made the selection as a leadout might have been a stage changer ...
Still, another podium and some valuable points in the points competition are good enough from this stage
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Thank you for the report, sgdanny!
Kind of good to see Howard finally take a win here, as one of the top sprinters who have struggled up until this. Congratulations, Roman!
Not according to plan to see Galta dropped and loose three minutes there, as I hoped he could fight for a top 20, maybe even a top 15. On the other hand Guldhammer was in the group, and that's obviously our main priority.
The upcoming stage looks like it might be the first real chance for a breakaway, so fingers crossed we'll try to join it for the first time this Giro. |

Nibbles still well placed so this is pleasing but I was disappointed to see a change from 20.00 but I guess it is a weekend so I'll let you off danny.

This was one of the dangerous stages for Henao. Good to see he was able to finish in the leading group.
Also, nice to finally see Van Poppel actually involved in a sprint.

arrrrrgghhhh not quite sure what to think about this one...
Howard must've had a brilliant day and that was really the only thing denying Demare the win considering Van Stayen clearly wasn't himself in the end.
Still, this is exactly what I have him for: being in the mix in as many stages as possible.
Great that Nerz comfortably made it in with the front group, Bongiorno seems either slightly hurt or saving energies for breakaways, I dearly hope it's the latter.

Damn Dan still not quite in the mix but with Demare and Frankenstiens monster no real chance. Pleased that a hilly stage is ticked off.

What a nice surprise! A hilly stage win for Howard, truly an incredible day to see him beating superstars like MVS and Demare! Also a great lead-out from König - great to see two of my leaders helping each other for the success. Great to see my other riders than Bewley starting to produce.

It was nice to see my team work in front of the peloton at a GT, only a shame Denifl's attack didn't stick, but the fact that he is attacking gives me a little hope that he can improve for the remaining part of the season. |

Awful stage for us. Trentin and Juul-Jensen should have done way better. Just hoping that neither Juul-Jensen or Guarnieri picked up any injury now...
Congrats on the win, Roman! Not the winner I was expecting

Surprising winner! Congrats.
Glad Madrazo managed to avoid the falls and splits and good job Kangert on sprinting to 4th. Only bad thing is that this stage confirms that Agudelo is injured. Hope he recovers soon.

Some cool stages ahead, and lots of KoM points are up for grabs; looking forward to it!

Good ride from Wellens thus stage and his support team is also riding well.
Good to see the race thinning out a bit without crashes causing it.

An absolutely hopeless race for us so far. 6 stages, 2 riders abandoning, Tzortzakis missing every split and my GC riders losing significant time on all flat stages, bar one.
We just need this race to be over with, and hope for some attacks. We have hardly have any this season so far, so I can't really get my hopes up for anything.

Olivier in front group is nice. In top20 now and hopefully still 6-7 positions to climb.
No support with him though which isn`t ideal. Koep in mountains should stay a bit longer as in the hills though. But also no Villella, who seems to be breakaway/KoM only instead of support, which isn`t too bad actually. Same for Bovenhuis, who didn`t score a points despite you had written it in the report.
(Sometimes the order in the "sprint" overview is misleading and wrong)
De Bie crashing on one of the stages I had hoped to see him aggressive sucks. In especially being injured now. Hopefully later in the race he can recover.
Best thing though that despite Olivier/Groenewegen/De Bie trio for all terrains, my team is finally going for breakaways which is a rare thing for my team in recent races. |
