Hansen  and by just one point, at least Pinot is around my fifth or sixth favourite cyclist, still, to see my second knocked out (and first not getting anywhere  )

I say it every year, but thank you to everyone that participated.
Without you there is no competition. It was an honor to host this once again.
Before the competition comes to a close, here are a few notes I'd like to share:
- It was close a few times but there were no ties, so I never had to vote.
- 1  Thibaut Pinot and 1  John Degenkolb received the most votes
during a single match-up with both coming in the 1st round with 42 votes.
- The biggest surprise has to be 12  Zdenek Stybar, hands down.
- 38 Votes in the Finals to crown a New Champion for 2014.

Actually, not surprised by the winner at all. He is well liked here and I don't think anybody has ever said a bad word against him. He's class.

Nice to see a nice and likeable guy like Stybar winning the contest, it was a tough choice whether to choose him or Pinot, probably the toughest of the whole contest!

Very happy with the winner. I think the explanation for his low seeding is that Styby is liked by everyone but not really is the most liked rider in the peloton by PCM members. Like for me Styby is a 11th-15th and I'm sure for others too which is why he won.
Look at his way to the final. Beats the hypetrain of all trains in round 1. Then Tony, Rolland and Kristoff. All those are tough matchups so Styby for sure deserved it.
I would say Thibaut had much easier matchups than Styby but thats kinda down to the seeding. |

Don't really like the winner, I mean, he's alright, but would prefered Pinot by quite a margin.
Odd to see him finish so low in the initial voting, but yeah, Kirchen is probably right here.

Quite pleased with the winner. Not my favourite, but rather him than Majka and Contador. Still dissapointed that i was too late for the first round. How did Vanmarcke manage? I can't remeber too see him in the competition. |
