Hm, was curious about Nibali's palmares:
1x Vuelta, 2x Giro, 1x Tour
2x Lombardia, 1x MSR
1x Tirreno-Adriatico.
The shark is an expert in GTs and 1-daysies but when it comes to one week stage races, his palmares is quite underwhelming. How come? I mean, 2014-2015 were the years of ultrapeak but before and afterwards, it seemed like he was riding competitively all season?

It seems like since 2014 he only focus on a couple of races by season, like only Tour in 2014, Tour and Autumn classics in 2015, Giro and Olympics in 2016, Giro, Vuelta and Lombardia in 2017... I won't be surprised if we won't see him performing until Tour again

To be honest, anyone not liking Nibali should get a forum ban.
I know quite a lot who dislikes him, simply because he wins more than his talent would lead you to believe he should win and because they feel he has robbed Fuglsang for some chances. But yeah, they are stupid and should probably get a forum-ban. He is oldschool with an attacking spirit, racing GTs and classics, everything that you as a cycling fan should want.
Amazing win. Sagan and Bora again fucking up, I have no doubt what Burghardt tried in the start of Poggio, totally pointless. I doubt Nibz was the strongest (he was super strong tho), Kwito and Sagan played the suspected tactical games.

Sagan was on he's wheel, but did not want to follow old friend. Later played with Kwiatek. No..not this time. I wont let you go and wont also drag you.
And yes Nibali is weird one. Has won almost anything (sry about that Olympic crash). We started 11 years ago we had debates here with ruben who was pissed that same class rider Geink has nothing and same time Nibali keep on collecting.
Kirsipuu at Astana admitted that he never have seen such lazy top rider as Nibali was, he needed all the time people around him to make him concentrate. Amazing talent and winner mentality. Classy rider.

Sagan as a rider is now in a horrible situation and I also noticed this exact moment as Sagan was ready to close the gap to NIbali, but there was Kwiat on his wheel waiting for Sagan to again do the hard work. So by Sagan calling the bluff and letting Kwiat and the others know that he is not doing the work, basically denies Sagan along with any others a possible victory.
So we have the situation. 1) If a rider or riders go with Sagan and share the work with him they will lose against him in the sprint 2) Sagan just does all the work and he then gets mugged at the line as has often happened by Kwiat at least twice 3) Sagan calls their bluff and effectively stops winning races that are not bunch sprints.
The Solution for Sagan is to either go very hard and try and drop the other riders or go with another classics sprinter when he attacks (which will not be so easy)
This problem for Sagan will be interesting to see how many victories he gets outside of bunch sprints this season
yes, Sagan is the rider with the hardest situation in the peloton, none is going to share work with him in any situation, in 2017 I saw just GVA cooperate with him in few situation, but it's incredible how a rider like Kwiatkowski is "allowed" to not cooperate...and in bunch sprints is even seldom the best sprinter.
In this way in selective classics also other top favourites are damaged from this situation because of Sagan following them, probably we are going to see many surprising results from outsiders (just look what happened between Sagan and Kwiatkowski in Strade Bianche and MSR) while favourites are still looking each others
