Yeah, already checked the route. Pretty similar stuff with those stage files. Used to have one file for the first stages, too Will have a closer look into that last one this evening.

Hmm... after thinking about it for a moment I guess it would be smarter to get the 2015 edition be made by you, too (if you've already planned to make it?).

I didn't But looking at the stages, it's definitely quite similar to the previous editions. I don't have PCM14, but since the stages should be compatible anyway... Might be an idea, to let me do it Can't say when, but should go quite fast.

That's great, your stages rock!
Looking forward to the race and (to apply some pressure) the Daily DB team, too (link).

Could you possibly be keen on a race around Brussels.
This website even have the gpx-file to DL
https://impanis-va...
It´s the GP Impanis - Van Petegem and as you understand I can´t find this but in a shape of a cdx-file.
Could you with your nice skills take a look at this on a rainy day ?
Have you had time to try out the new 2.HC xml files ?

Haven't checked you latest xml releases, yet. Though I have no doubt they are well-researched and well-made.
It's always nice to get the gpx provided. Race looks like need to be done (gets 1.HC next season)... I've to say these rollercoaster-like wallonian classics are somewhat a stagemakers nightmare. Might turn to it in the far future...
As tsmoha already made New Zealand Cycle Classic I changed direction and started to create Dubai-zcts. So if it works out well there are several Tour of Dubai editions up ahead.

Talking about provided gpx. How about this I DL...
https://www.mediaf...4-0508.gpx
It´s the Primus Classic Impanis - Van Petegem that as I understand will be upgraded for 2015 to a 1.HC class race.
https://impanis-va...
Now what I discovered NO-ONE has made this stage, since it´s normally a cdx-file in most DBs.
This would be a task for a master to be sure. (I indicate you)
but then this race MUST be high in order to fix since the upgrade puts it in the highest class.
Well the gpx-file was on their website, but I don´t know how this work. I started a new stage (to test my skills), but I find nothing but a green area. I do recall that trying this with Alberta I at least found something to build a road on.
This is why I challenge you to work on this, and I stick to my XMLs.
If any other brilliant stage-creator finds this challenge to his liking, be free to start. If the correct stage already is somewhere, already made, please tell me so.
The gauntlet is thrown. Who picks it up ???

To the stage editor issue:
To start the creation of a new race with the editor it is perfectly fine when your first screen just shows a green area like this:
You have to go to "top view" and load the gpx there as well to get the route shown:

And you once more guided the fool to the correct spot.
Thanks, and hey that van Petegam got a route of some kind.
But that is only viewable in top view, nothing in 3d, so what is the next step.
I guess I have to get back to some of the youtube videos, however they are mostly in other language AND the kind teacher is a bit erratic to say the least.
OK so this is a nightmare, which then I should stay away from on my earlier career in stage making. Get your point....
I if this rollercoaster is a bitch perhaps another race that has been lifted to 1.HC AND still only got a cdx-file
Sparkassen Münsterland Giro
but I got no gpx on that, yet.

It's not that difficult to create gpx-files if you have a map or the tech guide of the race (eg Münsterland Giro).
I use bikeroutetoaster most of the time.
www.bikeroutetoas...
(no Registration needed)
1. open the "Editor"
2. redraw route there, use the routing options to maximize effectivity
3. "Export" finished route to gpx (second option)
Note: cyanide's stage editor doesn't like special signs and letters. Therefor don't name the gpx MünsterlandGiro (call it eg Munsterland or just mgiro). Same applies for the folder you leave the gpx.
Back to the Wallonie...
I call the stage a nightmare to make, cause of the amount of work up ahead. The ugly thing with these up and down kind of races is that you have to smooth out many of these climbs. Due to the 1to10 scaling there will be many bad route slopes errors that need to be corrected. So this is more a no fun and much work kind of nightmare than a skill challenge.
If you wanna keep on going from the Point where the route is shown in top view...
Next step is the road network creation
Zoom and move the camera using your mouse wheel plus middle mouse button (or "Home", "End", "Page Up", "Page Down" on your Keyboard)
Editing of the roads can be done in 3D view (most useful options are marked).
I usually use the following order to create a race:
1. water and river creation
2. road creation
3. route setting (plus the needed sprints)
4. city and fancy places creation
5. forest a fields creation
6. final isolated objects Placement
7. border objects correction

I need some explaining from you on this mate.
I checked up Gooikse Pijl and found a route/track on this website
https://www.gpsies...anguage=en
Now I can pick KML or Track-Gpx or Route-gpx
then press download.
However following the info from you.
Starting editor
new file (in that section one can select a gpx/kml file, and I tried.
(however the "space" with the name stayed empty, for unknown reasons
Coming to your explaining on switching to top-view and once more picking out the gpx gives NO lines, indicating any route on my map.
I stepped out of order somewhere, but don´t know where.
Can you once more point me in the correct directions ??
I had the idea that if I see a route like this on that websote one could DL it and use it to create the race. I fear that even this (probably the easier part) is holding me back.

Select "Track as: GPX Track" and press the download button.
The exported gpx-file (size: 32,8 kb) should work well within the editor.

Ok, I try that. But I guess it was a DL problem. I opened your suggestion biketoaster, loaded the saved gpx from toher site into that. Then exported that route back to my pc and bingo that produced a fine line on my map.
I guess a get on 1 step forward, and sometimes 2 step back.
Got some time over now so I try to crank out some more 2.1 races xml files this weekend.
That´s the way I can contribute to you guys.
I did find a Munsterland-Giro file from 2012 pcmdaily pack. It wil do fine.
