[CT] Podium Ambition - "-pation!"

Podium Ambition

Sponsors

IMAX
The Canadian's who created the best film format provide a unique partnership. Global reach, constant evolutions, a great sponsorship that returns after a long break. They would love a strong North American representation on the team as we shift more back to our roots.

Caribbean Tourism
A region wider sponsor consisting of numerous stake holders from small shacks selling Piragua, up to major Government departments. A major player on the team and heralding our major focus shift to the great Islands with the white beaches and incredible sporting passion.

Mount Gay Rum
The Barbadian alcohol firm is the oldest producer of Rum in the entire world. It's a huge global brand with interests in all markets, especially the Americas. For them growing brand awareness against other Caribbean companies is key, doing this on a platform of local riders could be fun.

Mauritius Commercial Bank
The Mauritian bank is the largest and oldest in the country. In the last few years it's been a real innovator and grower in the African market. A great opportunity for them to begin growing more globally and for us to get a unique partner. They love marketing one of the two females in the peloton.

Hincapie Sportswear
The American sportswear manufacturer continues with the team this year. Steeped in cycling history the famous Hincapie name is well known in the top echelons of cycling. A growing market globally they want more North American rider presence to market from.

Cervelo
The Canadian bike manufacturer joins us as an official partner. Tieing into our connections with the mainland to the north we wanted to find a partnership that was also ecologically beneficial. Produced in Canada, shipped down the road to our working base in Seattle. And pioneering together on an all-new carbon negative bike range!

SRAM
Back together with a previous partner out of the USA. All part of our push to try to make the team more environmentally sustainable, as well as putting components together that really are suited to the bike.

Sea Turtle Conservation
Our primary NC sponsor. Cycling is one way to save the planet, so at the same time we want to boost our eco footprint. We are raising awareness of a range of projects across the Caribbean to try and protect as many of these amazing animals as possible.

Kraken
Our partnership management unit handling the day-to-day running of the franchise. The revolutionary partnership will help drive the teams counter-culture concepts and boost us to a new age!

The Great Big "Well, We're Back, Again" Post

It's been a while but T3A is back in the CT. Since our last season in the CT (which, btw, we did almost win!) we've ridden our first GT, spent an entire season as an actual PT Team, and entirely changed direction of the team twice. Plus we have established a clear Man-Game All Time Record, just not for the best of reasons.

This new era of T3A however is not a failure by relegating. In fact this was expected and in many ways planned for. The new heavy focus on Caribbean & Island cycling was always going to be long term. To emphasise this our best riders and results of last season were neo-pros from these areas. As such an immediate bounce back is not a focus for the coming year. Instead we will be working hard to Loan Out our group of Lvl4 riders, levelling up everyone else, and being a home to some Loan Ins.

A full Renewals Post will obviously come in time. Deals are basically in place for everyone we want, and a few surprise negotiations are still finalising. But we can make clear our transfers will be entirely based around sorting Loan Outs & Ins with virtually no Team-to-Team moves or Free Agency bids. We have a long term plan, we have the riders we need for this year, it will be quiet and focused on training and developments.

All our sponsors are still on board, fully committed to the project and our long term aims. We are working on the new set of NC's so we can continue to be the pelotons best dressed squad. Basically, we're in a very stable and happy place despite relegation.

Make sure you stay tuned and join us for another wonderful T3A season.

Headline news - Caleb Ewan! Silver medalist at the recent Worlds RR, the Aussie is on the market. Availability is simple, pure cash, highest offer takes him. As demonstrated at the Worlds and at MSR he is ideal for the ProTour - so start budgeting now

Alex Cataford is a possible. If we saw a special cash offer he could move, also might depend how the Wage cap shapes up based on Loan dealings. But we got his wage down a touch so it's not crucial.

Alex Mayer, Chris Lagane, Hasani Hennis, Akil Campbell & Josh Gayral all need PT Loans. We believe this will be possible, and crucial to the project.

Speaking of Mayer, apparently you can anger a rider over a 50k difference in Wage offer vs Request. He leveraged his position as the future key to this project and banked 10k wage increase.

Wolverine also got himself a wage increase, along with Jay Major. Again, key pieces to the team and they knew it, forcing our hand rather than risking losing our identity as a team to the Free Agency.

Heading into Transfers we are looking at holding 14 riders on the team (once you remove Ewan and the Loan Outs). So we will need one more at least, and we'll be wide open to take some Loan Ins. We're not worried about promotion, this is a long term project and our focus is on development.

Marcos Altur was quietly put down for his own, and the games own, good - no-one needs to see the MG's Worst Ever Training Sped again. Well, someone will sign and re-animate his corpse. Perhaps it'll make him good?

Aberasturi and Domene are also casualities of the Spanish revolution. As are David Dekker & Bram Welten, can't have those imperialistic Dutchmen ravaging our wonderful Caribbean lands.

Julian Alaphilippe is gone, although if we knew 25 new French teams would appear we'd have kept him. Edmo also leaves with his head help high.

Jyme Bridges leaves with the Antiguan RR jersey on his shoulders! He was given a heros send-off - a massive rum fuel beach party! You will be missed.

Sad to hear we're not gonna get to see Caleb Ewan in CT. Pfft

Tough offseason ahead, but you're definitely committed to the mission, and that part is still going well.

Definitely worried about Wolverine's incoming training now
Ewan's sale will easily cover the renewals fee, and I guess you'll have some money left after that. Great to see that you're committed to this long-term project, though Smile

Some pretty interesting departures, but I guess as everyone relegated to CT you had to find a decent balance between renewals fee and possible selling value... As you say, knowing beforehand that there'd be so many new Frenchies would have made keeping Alaphilippe a no-brainer ^^

Good luck, and hopefully you'll keep avoiding mountains and hills as much as possible

Relegation is never easy, good renewals tho. And it sucks to let Alaphillipe go considering he would made any money from a fine back very easily. We will most likely have a chat or two come transfers!

Looking forward to the Ewan sweepstakes, should be one of the headliners of the transfer season and as someone on the sidelines I'd love a drawn out saga Pfft

TheManxMissile
@Mre - Possibly we can find a way to keep Simon Yates training up! At least that part of the deal has worked out.
We did offer Altur equal to his value - turns out he was insulted by our almost minimum wage offer Pfft

@BBL - Tried my hardest to get Ewans wages down to the same as Manninen (for a reference) but nope, wasn't happening. And yes, this project is way more fun than when we built a team that could promote to the PT, even if it feels like it will take another four or five years to really see it work out

@Fabi - Be more worried about Wolverine if the 2-stat training limit was removed. Alaphilippe hurts, in part the influx of the French, in part i really liked him as an MG rider who would have been great CT rider with training. But with the heavy RP focus there was no choice in cuts.

@WJ - There's always a chance. And i think i'm more used to relegation than almost any other MG manager at this point!

@jandal - You sure your NZL team doesn't want to poach the Aussie? Won't be too drawn out, first offer i receive goes to thread and from there it's an open auction.

@red - Once Ewan is sold i'm basically there in terms of Wage Cap & and a sale of Cataford would leave me enough to fill out the team before even thinking about Loans, shockingly the Caribbeans are not expensive Pfft

This was one of the renewals I was most interested in. I think the cuts all made sense given what the sprinters likely demanded and the pain that Altur caused you last year Grin If you decide to keep Cataford, he and a (presumably?) buffed Wolverine could well headline a push for immediate re-promotion. And else, if you manage to get all those guys maxed this year, your team will look really scary for CT next season. Gonna be rooting for you either way Smile

The Great Big "Great Big Transfers Update #1" Post

Oh my word that was a busy few days of the transfer window. Lots to catch up on!

Departures

Caleb Ewan - 1.65mil to ISA-Hexacta. Scorchio has bagged a bargain deal here. Lots of tears shed in the T3A HQ over this goodbye.

Alex Cataford - 1.25mil to De Stijl Cycling. Jph didn't get a bargain, being only 400k less than Caleb. We wish Alex the best.

Logan Owen - 100k to Isostar-Specialized. Croatia got a better than normal rate, which we'll get to in a moment. Logan can now go after a PT title!

Which adds up to a shockingly neat 3mil profit! And clears 870k from our wage bill. Brings us well under Cap, clears our Fines, and leaves a lot for training. Pretty much perfect result from the Sales.

Alex Mayer & Chris Lagane - Loan to Moser-Sygic. Roman wanted some more help for Sagan so the two Mauritians get a nessesary year in the PT. We are paying their wages, but recouped the Fees.

Akil Campbell - Loan to Zwift Pro Cycling. Mre hit us up in pretty much the first minute of transfers! AK gets his PT season, we save on the wage and put part of the Free from Lagane over to Mre.

Josh Gayral & Hasani Hennis - Loan to Isostar-Specialized. Croatia helps take the two Caribbean riders for a year, and got himself a cut price Wolverine as thanks. We again pay the wages but claim back the fee.

5 PT Loans secured! That's no small feat. We are paying most of the wages, but means we pull in a net 230k in Fees to add to the training fund.

Signings

Abner Gonzalez6668676066686060636468666167.511.022

Wage 50k - Pot. 5
Abner hails from Puerto Rico, the same as JMO. He's the regions best climbing talent, with good future options for training. We did try and negotiate him an extra year on the regional circuit before moving up to the MG ranks.

Connor White7066686767686363676871726968.981.023

Wage 60k - Pot. 5
Connor comes from Bermuda, a first for the team. He's a real all-rounder, but we think his future lies in being a combination Lead-Out & Prologue specialist. Certainly lots of skill to work with, even if lacking the high end potential of other nations best talents.

Tyler Cole7064687066676366697072696969.472.023

Wage 65k - Pot. 4
Tyler is the latest Trinidad & Tobagoan on the squad. We had to work for his signature, but nothing as tough as some of last seasons signings. He's more a time trialist than anything, but some rounding out with extra trainging will make him a strong lead-out as well.

Summary
3 permanent departures. 5 Loan Outs. 3 New Signings. We sit at 15 riders on the roster, so could call transfers finished. However we are eyeing up a couple of Stagieres, and there's the CT Free Rider Draft as well. Heck, we could yet take in a Loanee or two! So we'll be back in a few more days to wrap it all up.

The future of the team is bright, it's just going to take a few years to bring the project together and to a competitive standard. Next step, trying to find PCT capable leading talents & some genuine competitve sprinters and cobblers.

Wanted to go for White, then remembered I don't actually care about my nationality. He'll fit in nicely here Pfft

Great time for the carribean project. A shame to see those leaders go, but going full regional is some stylish achievement. Great commitment!

I am sorry I missed the loaning in of Hasani Hennis. I had him in a PCM career (I added him myself Wink ) so I am quite fond of this guy. Smile I was tempted by Abner Gonzalez (for the same reason mind you) but went elsewhere in the end. In the future I do hope I'll see the Bermudan Kaden Hopkins in the game and in your team too. Another soft spot of mine (wow, I have a lot of those). Grin

I was surprised to see you sell Wolverine, I thought he would be a prime candidate to invest all that money into. But as Croatia said, the commitment to having only Carribean (and Mauritian) riders is very impressive. Curious to see where that money goes instead, or if you try to carry as much as possible over to next season when the likes of Mayer and Lagane come back maxed.

@Marco - I never mind some healthy competition, and see it was you i was less annoyed than might have been the case.

@Croatia - Wasn't my initial plan to go 100% Focused this season, but honestly it's made me so much more engaged and motivated with the MG i'll take a couple of years of results pain. Plus i banked over 3mil in fees, training time!

@DarkWolf - A PT team would always be my preference just to ensure reaching Max asap. Hopkins is on my list of possible suggestions for next season. Abner i'd have fought very hard for, so thanks for saving me wage space Pfft

@cunego - Yeah it just kind of opened up that way with getting less from Ewan than i hope. Plus i could only train two of his stats so on balance i feel happier spreading the love around my actual focus riders. I couldn't even train Mayer/Lagane next year (can't train just max'd riders) so money has to be spent now!

Welcome (back) to the CT. I like the Caribbean focus.

Maybe we can add a Rum Saturday to the well established Whiskey Wednesday?
