The Kuurne Bruxelles Kuurne classic was a race for the sprinters with decent cobble skills most recently with the winners being Stallaert, Kluge, Harrison and Cavendish in the last four editions.
Going further back though, when raced under the name Omloop Het Volk in 2015 it was a race for pure cobblers and also in the KBK days another few years earlier, the top cobblers went for the win here.
A rider to be named is Vanspeybrouck as he is the only winner at todays startlist, back in 2015 and 2011! Quite a long period for a rider, that easily belongs onto the favourite list again in 2020!
That said, not easy for him with Summerhill not only starting here as well but also being his team mate and basically leader now. Back in 2015 though, the Belgium was still the stronger beating runner-up Summerhill by 80s!
Other strong riders are Altur, who is 2nd best on paper but yet to prove his winning skills while also Zepuntke, Vanbilsen, Baugnies, Breen or Ferreira must be named as top cobblers. Many of them were already in the top10 of last years KBK!
Then there are Trentin and Daniel, who belong to the kind of riders who combine a strong cobble skill with pretty good sprinter skills! A combination as said, that did well in the past.
| Fl | Cob | Sp | | Fl | Cob | Sp | Summerhill | 78 | 83 | 70 | Ferreira | 73 | 79 | 71 | Altur | 75 | 82 | 72 | Machado | 69 | 79 | 62 | Trentin | 74 | 81 | 75 | Baugnies | 77 | 79 | 64 | Zepuntke | 72 | 81 | 72 | Nolf | 73 | 79 | 62 | Vanspeybrouck | 75 | 81 | 66 | Breen | 77 | 78 | 73 | Vanbilsen | 78 | 80 | 72 | Bush | 74 | 78 | 71 | Daniel | 73 | 80 | 76 | Moulingui | 74 | 78 | 65 | Bakari | 57 | 80 | 59 | Richardson | 71 | 78 | 60 |
And also some more pure sprinters with decent cobbles at least such as Kristoff and Saber in especially but also couple more. Many of them as well inside the top7 of the last 3 editions!
| Fl | Cob | Sp | Kristoff | 74 | 77 | 82 | Saber | 75 | 76 | 81 | Havik | 73 | 76 | 79 | Thwaites | 73 | 76 | 78 | Naesen | 75 | 76 | 77 | Rowe | 78 | 75 | 79 | Young | 74 | 75 | 78 | Van Asbroeck | 75 | 74 | 80 |

Maybe this will be the race where Vanbilsen podiums? Probably not though.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thanks for the preview. With Baugnies' weak sprinting skills I hope the race will be selective in order to secure a top-10.

Three things are certain - death, taxes and Summerhill winning a cobbled race.

I really hope this race ends in a bunch sprint, otherwise I'm not sure Naesen can do much. But he's comparatively high on the start list, which makes me a bit more optimistic that the AI won't just have him hanging around in the back half of the peloton to inevitably end up on the wrong side of a split. We'll see.

Should be a good route for Breen. Hoping he can step into the top 10 again

Wow, I got my podium and still mixed feelings. If you beat Summerhill, you expect nothing less than a win. Vanbilsen looked really strong today but got himself in a bad position for the sprint. Congratulations to Mapei (and even Andorra with their massive point scoring) and thank you Roturn for the report!

Very happy with this race! First Ulloa did his thing again in the attack, and then Baugnies seemed to be very present at the front. A shame one of his attacks didn't hold on until the end, but the way he still sprinted to fifth means he must've really killed the others as well. Two HC races for us this season, and two fifth places from Baugnies
Thank you for the report roturn, my heart started beating a bit faster near the end

This is atrocious
Please roturn stop reporting races where my team is involved, you seem to bring bad luck
Nah, an overperformance in E3 cancels out an underperformance in KBK, just be back on your feet next time Zepuntke.
Summerhill is beatable Congrats Heine!

The race wasn't as suited so it doesn't come as a big surprise not to get the win, but a 2nd and 4th makes for a great result, congrats Heine and thanks Roturn for the report!

Saber seems to have some sort of fetish of finishing 26th, which is obviously bad. Luckily this is a HC race so at least we got 5 pts
Summerhill didn't win
Thanks for the report roturn and congrats to Heine on the win

Altoro continues to be a low-top 10 rider, despite dropping down a division and getting a boost to 82 he's almost exactly the same as last season. Really disappointing season for him.
However Wolverine was excellent, and then Matthews-Edmo-Domene all looking decent behind as well. That's an upside as we look at relegation where a little training could make any of them into good CT scorers.

And one more awesome performance of Bush! I don´t know why PCM18 likes him as much
Thanks roturn for report. Nice to see Summerhill being beaten at last, congrats Heine!

A Top 10 would've been great but can't complain about 11th in a field like this for Van Lerberghe. Was hoping for some depth points but Paprstka and Bovenhuis got dropped early.
Congrats on the win Heine and thanks for the report roturn
