Well Australia as usual kick us off for the National Championships, Ewan won the criterium championships, Dennis defended his title ahead of Durbridge, Dyball, Hepburn and Miles Scotson. Miles' younger brother Callum won the U23 title.

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Looking at the weather reports and also living in the same state as the Aus Nationals it will be some tough conditions for the road races, 34 c on Saturday for the under 23's and 31 c for the seniors on Sunday, winds should be be a northerly around 25-35 kph so it will be who's fittest. Looking at the TT results I think Dyball is a good outside chance and the same goes for Canty who has been putting in the big training k's in the heat over the last 4 weeks. I have a feeling this years mens race will go to a non Orica rider but do think Durbridge will ride well, might be a year for a lesser name or local pro to take a win.

Joe Cooper (the 2015 Champ) wins the NZ Men's RR with a solo move, Christie 2nd and the still teamless Dion Smith in 3rd. Regan Gough unfortunately had a mechanical that took him out of the running Sad He still won the sprint for the U23 title.

Amazing race Brendon Canty thought he won a lap early, then it looked like Durbridge would catch him but the race came back together on the final ascent for Miles Scotson to attack with 1.5km left to win quite amazingly ahead of Gerrans and Haas! Good start to the year. Smile

Wait a second...Drucker beats Jungels in a TT...Kwiatek dominates and Gesink gets 3rd? Not talking about the small margin for a 50k TT

What place Cavagna?

Also seems like Lampi will win Belgian ITT. #Lampi4TDF

Edvald got his 10th ITT title today, as supreme as always. Vangstad 2nd, Skjerping 3rd. I ended up outside top 50, but am happy with my performances. A huge lot of conti riders made it impossible to get a result for a bad-ttist club rider. Was 3 minutes closer to Edvald than last year though, so that's a thing. If that continues, I'll win in 3 years!

Drucker only won cause it was unde 20 k or else Jungels woulda smoked him, make it 50+ km and make the real men win
