Welcome to the Head Quarters of Kraftwerk Man Machine Cycling Team who are very grateful and excited to have been granted a licence to take part in the CT division of PCM Daily's Management Game.

The Dusseldorf based Pioneers of Electronic Music and big cycling fans are stepping up from their cycling club Radsportgruppe Schneider, to sponsor a professional team. Here is a great article by Jack Thurston from 2005 that describes Kraftwerk's history and love of cycling following the release of Tour de France Soundtracks in 2003 (eagle eyed members will have spotted my avatar is from the cover of this album  ).

Kraftwerk Man Machine are based in Dusseldorf riding on a German licence. The team will be comprised of an international squad to reflect the international appeal of Kraftwerk's music, although Germany will always be the best represented nation. The management will look to recruit riders from Germany, France, Japan, Russia and Great Britain. This reflects the fan base and mix of languages sung on various Kraftwerk songs as you can hear on the track Numbers from their 1981 album Computer World.

As Kraftwerk were pioneers in developing new sounds and instruments, the Kraftwerk Man Machine will look to develop new talent. We are open to developing riders on loan from other teams if they fit our nationality profile.
The Kraftwerk Man Machine team name is taken from Kraftwerk's 1978 album The Man Machine. The concept of the Man Machine is of humans, technology and nature combined in harmony with the Rider, Bicycle and Parcours being a prime example. Kraftwerk are as much about image as music and the shirt design was inspired by the iconic cover of the same album.

Michael is a decent cobbler with a bit of a sprint but only has 1 cobbles domestique so will have to go it alone to get any results.

Thomas is our best time trialler but there are much better in the division. He will be very useful in the goal race Tour of Bulgaria TTT and his mountains ability means he can help on mountain stages as well.

@ weirdskyfan Thanks and congrats on your successful application. Transfers will be "interesting" as quite a few of the new teams have the same nationalities.

@knockout - The jersey is a beauty, its a shame the ExportJersey tool doesn't do the back view which is very Kraftwerkesque thanks to the_hoyle's great design

I am really pleased the concept has been welcomed, wasn't sure how sponsorship by a 70's band would go down .

Don't want to go off topic here but it's possible to do it in theory, rotating the jersey and saving the updated version

@sgdanny - thanks, high praise indeed, I am looking forward to a screen shot of the jersey, hope I can build a team to deliver it. Main goal is to have fun with a bunch a great people and I am well on the way to achieving that already

@matt - spam away no problem and thanks for the back view I was after featuring the Machine repeat with fade, will be a shame to have it covered with the race numbers. Took a screenshot and flipped it, the jersey looks good but then PCM Daily is back to front, weird.
