Monterrey TTT
The Continental TT-classics kick off in Mexico, where Monterrey hosts this third edition of the (P)CT's very own TTT event. Two time champions Oz Cycling ain't here this year, so it's time for a new winner here.
The challenging 55km parcours has produced both some close and (partly) surprising results (like last year's 4th Bonsucro). None of last season's podium finishers is at the start this year.
The Startlist
The Favorites Team | Setup | | Hills | *** | | | | RBC Pro Cycling | 79-78-77-77-76-75-74-72 | | ++ | Aegon – Lavazza | 80-78-78-76-75-74-74-74 | | + | Karcher-Adira | 83-78-77-73-73-72-70-69 | | ++ | ** | | | | Gazelle | 78-77-77-75-73-70-69-67 | | + | Risa – Ergon | 79-77-77-75-74-74-71-71 | | | Swedbank – PEAB | 79-77-75-75-73-72-71-71 | | | * | | | | cycleYorkshire | 79-76-75-75-74-72-71-64 | | + | Team TomTom | 80-76-76-76-73-70-68-68 | | | Eddie Stobart | 78-75-73-72-72-71-71-70 | | + | Kenya Airways | 79-77-74-72-68-68-67-66 | | + | Bonsucro | 75-74-74-74-74-74-74-73 | | |
RBC did podium this race two years ago and the team is definitely amongst the top-favorites this time. A great depth in TT and - also a factor here - some decent skills on the hills, too. Aegon and Karcher as the other premium lineups here. Aegon definitely with the greatest depth, while Karcher comes with Fiedler and some stronger puncheurs like RBC.
Gazelle, Risa and Swedbank look like they could be threats for the Top-5 at least. Also cycleYorkshire, TomTom, Eddie Stobart, Kenya and last year's "sensation" Bonsucro amongst the better teams here. The latter with some nice depth, but lacking the top gun.
Should be an interesting race. The length of the parcours should make it harder for less strong teams to pull a shocking result. Even though we've seen quite some weird TTs this year.

Big startlist... Should have gone to Duo Differdange probably. Hopefully we can do a good race and mix it up amongst the top 5.

Quite a pity that Keizer is racing Andorra at the same time. With him I probably had been top favourite. Top3 is a must. |

Hoping our depth counts here, definitely top 5 is the target. I rate our TTT train better than those with c. 68 something TT.
But, let's not forget TT/TTTs are a bit of lottery. Top 3 could be on our cards/ equally we could miss the top 10. |

I have probably one of the worst lineups here, so anything that could score us points would be Hughes success. I only signed up here because I thought not many would, as I thought to remember it was the case last season.. |

Want my riders to fight for a top 5. Podium will be very difficult.
I wonder how much influence those hills will have.

Best possible TT squad for the Minions, hoping it can deliver me some well needed points...

Strong and big startlist here. Hoping that having the Mexican ITT-champion will get us a mention and that we will have depth enough to make a decent effort.

WIN GOAL!! These are a big lottery though and though I hope the fight will be between Karcher, Aegeon and us, I can see Swedbank and Risa getting in on the act too. |

I've no idea how this one will go for us, but hopefully we won't do too badly.

Check out that #1 spot on the startlist First time that's ever happened for me
Shame our TT team is awful and we are just looking to not come last

With PCM's time trial engine, I wouldn't be surprised to see you take the victory
Although that might be stretching it |

Should be able to get in the top 10, and hopeful of getting a good result after the same line-up did well in South Africa. Anything could happen really though, there always seems to be a few strange results in TT's this year. |

The objective is to win the race, and all that is below the 3rd place will be a let down. Unfortunately I have a feeling that this race will be a disaster for the team

Amazing performance from the team, 3rd is more than I ever could have expected! So close for second as well, but I'm more than happy with that result
Should bring in some much needed points after a horrible month. Congrats RBC on the deserved win, and thanks for the report tsmoha. |
