USA Pro Cycling Challenge Discussion

The USAPCC makes it Man-Game debut and is already categorised as a Hors-Category race. That is mainly because of it's very intresting route. 7 stages take the riders trough uphill terrain in Colorado. 3 finishes are uphill, all three after a tough hill which is not that long. 2 hard and long climbs are situated en route for stage 3 but the finish is still 30 km to go after the last top so it will be intresting to see if we get a lot of action there. The 1st and 5th stage are categorised as flat but still some hills have to be tackled. Nothing major to disrupt the sprinters under normal circumstances. The race will then be decided on the final day during a medium length timetrial.

Big favourite must be i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/tcs_zps625f9315.png Kritskiy. He has been dominant all season and is leading the individual standings. His main opponents will be i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/var_zps06f2aa1f.png Pozzovivo, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rep_zps8fe99b28.png Kasheckin, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/luk_zps37d4ab7e.png Karpets and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/vwm_zps2ffcd386.png Keizer. The first two could be stronger than the Russian uphill while the latter two are arguably better timetrialists. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Kiserlovski, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Plaza and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/jag_zps1b91f70a.png Bibby are all decent bets aswel while punchers like i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/mei_zpsbbaf4141.png Zaini or i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/vue_zps51fdf35e.png Schreurs could surprise if the mountain stage isn't ridden hard. They should atleast be considered favourites for the uphill finishes.

The top sprinters clearly weren't intrested to try and survive the mountains here as all of them stayed away. That should make the sprints more intresting with a wide open field led by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Farrar, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Brea, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/pvl_zps0bcc4e74.png Borrajo and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/var_zps06f2aa1f.png Gatto.

Will there be a Tour Tracker? Pfft

Hoping for a less selective race and Rogers to score some points with the concluding TT.. but with his recent performances in both mountain and hilly stages, I don't expect him to do anything good.

So, maybe our puncheurs will go for stage-wins?!

Heine
Hoping for a race eith few attacks and everyone close together until the timetrial, that would be perfect

Just another race where i start but will be rarely mentioned in the reports...

Though to predict a winner, depending on how fast the mountain stages are ridden many riders are potential winners. Plus one should never forget that the AI can go crazy...

I am in need of some points here, hopefully I can get lucky with Kashechkin and get high up in the GC, plus Machado to be in the mix on some of the hilly sprints.

Metinvest is here for experience and to show our colours in North America, no wonder that we are not mentioned in the report. But maybe Popkov or Vasylyuk can score some points with agressive riding.

It has been some time since break stole the show in the stage race, why not now. Smile
But in that case, our riders need to jump into them, not avoid them like they do majority of the season.

Anyway, Kritskiy will win it, like he always does. Grin
I'll be back

Could very well be a copy of Österreich for Schreurs. Mountains do look a little too hard for him, and there's a TT anyway, so I guess it's another all-in for stage wins Wink

It's not its ManGame debut, there was the Tour of Colroado last season which was the first MG edition, albeit with a different name Wink

It's a good route for Bibby, but some tough competition

I based it on the 2013 profiles thread were it said that there weren't any past winners so I thought it was the first time.

It's debut under a new name then Smile

First report later this night

Ahh you've edited the post in the profiles now Pfft

Last years winner Raisin wasn't selected by his Bintang team for this race! Smile

This race has a lot of unassertive stages because of that stupid classification algorithm. It could have been an exciting and surprising event, but unfortunately to us all Kritskiy is here. And he's already winning Pfft

Good to see Borges scoring some points on the very first day of competition, and getting a hold of the u25 leader's jersey. I'm hoping to see Plaza and Mendes adding more MG points at the end of the race.

Say what Oleg? He is winning right from the start, incredible rider Pfft

Nice sixth from Pokov, he has ton of top10s in harder stage sprints this season. Hopefully he will add some more in next days.

Nice to see Kashechkin sprinting to make sure he doesn't time, hopefully that bodes well for the rest of the race. Big stage coming up now, lets hope its selective.

Morabito seems to be up there and Ivars near in the first hilly stage he could go well if he can keep up there in them and make time in the TT

Heine
No major time differences = great for us
Just hopes it contiue like that, so that Keizer can climb in the TT Grin

tsmoha
Nah, had hoped for a better result in this second stage, but good to see our most important riders not losing "stupid" time in those rather easy stages.

jph27
Kritskiy is unbelievable.

Miguel98
Kristkiy with yellow jersey bonus should be able to secure the GC win.

Avin Wargunnson
What a dull stage, nothing happening, bar our best placed rider loosing 45seconds for no reason. What happend with Popkov ,Spilak? He sprinted for points and then just enjoyed the scenery or what?

This race will be horrible for us, if we will not salvage anything from the break. Which we will not, because we are not in any during whole season. Frown
I'll be back
