The first race is Vuelta a Murcia, now is a one day race because they have serious economic problems.

The Vuelta a Murcia classic, nice Screens look good as well, though I must admit I'm not a fan of narrow roads
Impressive list of 2013 races you have done there, but if I may ask why have we never heard of them? 2013 Tirreno - Adriatico, 15 stages of the Vuelta, the whole Giro and Tour and the Tour de San Luis have all already been done by the community. That's quite a lot of work done twice

The point is that it ruins the gameplay, because of PCM's solid rider model. Unless it's at the top of a long final climb like Bola del Mundo, it's best to avoid using narrow roads.

Totally agree with you. I never use 1 lane roads because they are like bottlenecks (I don't know if this is the right word but I hope you understand what I mean).
These roads don't look very well ingame; they seem to be unreal.

Don't really understand why would you guys do that (not use stages from people who are not from PCMSpain). I believe the point of having a community for the game is to work together to make the game better for everyone. But as you noticed, it's already done, not much can be said/done now, so let's rather look forward indeed. As far as I know nobody is making Catalunya, so keep it up!

I will answer you.
As Admin&community manager of PCM Spain. And teacher in the stage edition of Mark Cavendish and HijodelDiablo
I must say that the only objective of not using stages made by others is for 2 reasons: to teach every member to be a useful member of the community (here two clear examples) and self-sufficiency. Moreover, the PCM Spain 2013 pack is 100% spanish.
It is not our intention to dismiss the work of others. Rather encourage own work.
I must clarify that the fact of not use outside stages is only for our pack.
In our community there are great creators of stages, As Grebiere that frequently publish their work on our site. And I particularly have got on my pc almost 30GB of variants. As you say I try to make my game the best experience possible.
As a community lately we wanted to build on our values, which is to teach anyone who wants to learn. For make ourselves known, And we are seen as a official game community.
I can also say that although some stages have already been made. Right now we are the only ones to have done the Amgem Tour of California.
I've tried 3 different versions of "La vuelta a España", by far ours is much better.
I hope even though our work in some cases be repeated (in the case of mine and Hijodeldiablo perhaps these stages were made in October but work for our pack so we could not publish them before) but I am happy with our work is well done , and if possible, make it the best.
That´s the footprint of my job like Administrator of PCMSpain.net
If anyone has been offended by my words, made it clear that it isn´t my intention. Only wanna defend my boys and his great work
Greetings! |

It's great that you want to encourage work from members of your community, I can only agree with that I don't think that you guys would have intention of "dismissing" the work of others; but rather my point is that I can't see why you wouldn't work together with the rest of the PCM community With a bit more communication, both your stage makers (who appear to have done a great work indeed) and the rest of the stage makers could have used their time better (doing different stages), and now, for example, instead of having 20~30 races with 2013 routes, we could have 50, 60 races... much more than currently, for sure

I'm not sure what you mean with that. Do you mean variants? Or 3 versions of 2013 routes of the Vuelta? And again the question is, if yours is 'much better', why would you not share it with the rest of the community so that we can enjoy it as well?

It's great that you feel the work you guys have done is of good quality, and that you're happy with it. That's what matters the most after all But I do most wonder about why you couldn't publish them because they were made for your pack. Mede, for example, is working on the FCD; but everytime he does a 2013 work, mostly minishirts, which might be of interest to the rest of the community, he posts it. Same with several other people who are also related in some way to DB projects (punky, nathounet, wielrennen, etc).
To sum up: while there might exist different DB projects (which is good, because it offers variety to us players), the PCM community is only one (at least that's the way I see it), be it here at Daily, or Cyanide Forums, or PCMFocus, or PCMSpain, etc. Given that the point of the community is to improve the game as much as we can, I don't think that working separately and doing work twice is the best idea, specially when it comes to 2013 stuff which is what everybody wants right now
HijoDelDiablo: the post is gone a bit long, sorry for spamming your thread Volta a Catalunya looks very nice so far. Keep it up!
