Thanks. |

I've just played stage one of the Tour of Qatar with Team Sky. Flat Stage so ideal for setting up a lead out train. Following various youtube videos (all for PCM 11) at around 16k I paused the game and I put Thomas Lovqvist on to dot and put him up to 99. I then went to Jeremy Hunt and right clicked on him to bring up the follow icon which I clicked that brought up follow on the team panel on the left hand side. I repeated this with Thomas, Sutton and finally Swift. Un-paused the game only to see everything all the follow icons on the team panel disappear and the riders resort to settings before the train was organised. What am i doing wrong? I know what I am doing in terms of setting up the train, but clearly I am not clicking things correctly. had the same problem with 2011, thought I'd mastered that, but with the different interface on this year's games it has thrown me once more. Any suggestions please. Right now it's a beautiful day so off for a 50K spin. |

Is it possible to follow so early?. 16km mis too eraly to start on dot 99 I reckon....
I have noticed that wiered things can happen if you pause , give instructions, and then unpause. it's like some riders revert back to a previous order or soemthing |

It does seem very odd that you can't follow from much earlier... what does Cav normally do for the first 180km? At that point I just get them all to the front and lead out man 1 on about 85 dot to race the peleton along. |

99 is too strong to lead out at 16 kms. I usually do 85 effort until I get closer and then 90 when I'm at 10 kms or so... I only use 99 when I'm at 5 kms or closer. My trains usually have 5 to 6 guys. Two or three to get my guys to the 3 kms mark and then two lead out guys. One goes at 3 kms, the other goes at 2 kms and my main sprinter goes at 1 kms.
I don't usually play with strong teams like Sky so perhaps you can push a bit harder than me and maybe you only need one lead out guy. |

The problem could also be, that you pause your game. If your riders have other orders(protecting another rider). What you should do is, press pause, put your riders on dot, press play and pause again, and then make your train. And as said, 99 already at 16 km is too high, it wont break your train, but it will surely drain their energy.

Tried all of that but still doesn't work. This what I did. Knees on dot 85. Left click on team list to highlight Hayman. Then right click on highlighted rider on screen to bring up green bar with follow icon on it. Left click on that so that follow icon is next to Hayman's name on the team list on the left hand side, repeat exact process for Sutton, then Thomas and finally Swift. Unpause game follow icons disappear from the team panel, all revert back to dot. Grrrr.
If someone could explain this I would be grateful, better still if someone could go through the exact process using the 2012 interface i would much appreciate it.
Many thanks

Just a hint: A rider can only follow riders who are in front of him. |

exactly,
most of the times in the last 30k. i will forward all the riders for my sprint train to the front and will already let them ride in the order my sprint team will be.
This works most of the times. Sometimes it wont work, but thats just in real life. |

Just to be sure about what you are doing...
After left clicking on Hayman.
Are you than right clicking om Knees on the screen? In the order you explained above you should right click on Knees. After that, left click on Sutton and right click on Hayman and so on.
To me it doesn't mather if the riders are riding in the right order. Only thing important is, that all riders you are putting on follow are within the last 16 km.
Hope this helps

To be precise 18km not 16km. And are you sure that follow icon is active? Sometimes, even on flat stage, it is unable to prepare train beacause mountain finish is for example 4km before finish.
Left click to select sprinter then right click on the rider (human on the peloton or his panel on the left side of the screen) which will be before him and from menu follow icon. For sure you can before this all press maintain position. |

Yes it has or should i say in PCM2012 a rider can definitely follow a rider behind him, the riders will organise themselves properly whatever their position when the orders are given.
What i do, as recommended in the tips and tricks section, is start with the sprinter, have him follow the lead out man, then have the lead out man follow the third wheel(?) and so on until the first man and then put him on the dot. Sometimes it can take more than one attempt to set the train up as it dosen't work at the first attempt always, whether thats due to a misclick or the game i'm not sure.

Thanks your videos and stage highlights are a work of real dedication. I kind of got it some of the time using the 2011 interface thanks in no small measure to your tips, but the 2012 game is proving more of a problem. It maybe that I'm setting it up back to front. I'll have another go. |

Yes. Yu can follow your own riders in whatever position, but to get another guys wheel on another team you must be behind them.
