I'm here to announce a new DB project you may have just heard about it Café Pedro.
This is my first DB project, and to be honest it is really just an idea at this point, but I want to put it together, and I know a lot of other people want it too.
However, I will need a lot of help to make this work. I am aiming to put together extensive rosters for something that you can play in career mode.
My one condition is that I am the head of stats. That's something I for sure want to do. However, I was not following cycling as much outside of the PT (virtually not at all actually) at the time, so I will need a lot of help with those stats. Of course rosters must come first. I assume we could use the PCM 09 expansion as a template.
As far as putting the DB together and other data things, I could definitely use help there as well.
I will also need help with jerseys and stages (I want to have the top races made).
This is extremely ambitious but it could also be extremely fun to play with. Let me know if you want to help down below. If this works out, I hope everyone will enjoy it. Thanks!
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

I was going to post this in Café Pedro, but this is probably a better place:
Jerseys: can be converted from PCM09, not perfect but likely good enough for most teams;
Stages: PCM09 ones are completely different to PCM10~13, it takes some time to create them so it's one of the things historical DBs less commonly have (unless bigggassi gets working on more 2009 stages, then you could have all 3 GTs in a couple of weeks) Speaking of him, big is near finish the '09 TdF as you probably know, also nathounet87 has done the 2009 Tour de Suisse and Pellizotti has done 5(?) stages of the '09 Giro.
Equipment: frames not compatible, helmets are sort of compatible (the .nif files need to be changed somehow - I'm unsure who still knows how to do it, but what is possible to do is re-use at least those helmets which had their models converted; f.e. Astana's helmet is created on the same Giro Ionos model texture used in PCM11~13, so it can be re-used); wheels iirc are fully compatible.
Riders, names, DoBs, pictures, stats, and most other info, as well as info for the teams: https://pcmdaily.com/infusions/pro_dow...hp?did=680
(however, some things will have to be created from scratch - most notably the riders popularity and adding regions for the riders, since back then there was only rider's country, not region)
@TMM: no offense but I get small twitches whenever someone talks about working on stats in a post-2004/05 database project (since there are several databases from these time using the same matrix as the current PCMs which already provide stats about as accurate as you'd get for thousands of riders); though with the advantage of knowing the future, it'd certainly be interesting to go over potential values, you wouldn't want to have say Rasmus Guldhammer winning everything in 2015

I guess you are right. In the end it really is the last option of the pole.

I'd like this. A bit before my time, but I'd love to have a Saxo Bank career with the Schlecks. Good luck. |

Great idea, I would love to play it. Go for it.
If I recall correctly, ricardo123 is targeting the other GT's of 2009. I will finish the TDF 09 this week.
If there're enough people willing to put some work into this project, I would love to support it with stage work.

Oh well, Marty is making most of the jersey's. I will probably (if it comes to that point and if i still want to) compile the DB, and make development videos/ trailers for youtube.

Updated reserve post (now "staff" with each member and their suspected contributions. When the DB is fully underway I will make this much more detailed in everyone's contribution, don't worry.

If you say that based on my post, that's not really what I mean. PCM13 is considered better than PCM09 by most people, after all there are 4 editions of the game between PCM09 and PCM13 (even if it seems as a surprise, Cyanide did get a couple of things right between these editions ). What I meant though is that I don't see reason to spend much time working on info (riders, teams, stats, etc), since that all can be found within PCM09 DBs and can be 'imported' to PCM13 without much trouble

Yeah, normally you can just use a PCM '09 DB for the stats & riders(maybe deleting a few teams if it gets too big), with some adjustments, especially potential ofc. (I'm afraid Froome needs high potential )
Question is: Do you want to use a Spring 2009 or Fall 2009 DB?
It would also be nice if guys like Sagan, Quintana etc. Would be added. Sagan might already be in, but I'm not sure.
(Oh, and Kelderman is 17(turns 18) in 2009, so he deserves a spot as well )
