The Comeback

Mresuperstar wrote:
@lluuiiggii: I knew you would bring up seeing the front of the jersey

Indeed! It's such a unique design, I like it Smile (though tbh, it got a bit dark there, but I'll blame the mist on the stage).

Mresuperstar wrote:
But, at least I still get to read the comments people post when the points are gone. Or when people like lluuiiggii show up.

The problem with taking a look at the points first is that they can be a nice indicative on whether something happened at the stage. But yeah, I like to first discuss the story, then 'rush' for the points (normally I have to F5 the page just to be sure I won't be zabelled Pfft). Living dangerously ftw Cool

(ah, and I like the time schedule you've set for releasing the last few episodes. Early hours in Europe, no hectic competition for points Pfft)

I always read the report first. When I click on a report, I don't expect to get to do a stat, as I'm not in your timezone Wink

Um... That doesn't look good. Fox we are right here!
Why would you advertise that Tweet on my blog?

#SaveTheFoxCyclingProgram

I didn't have much time to celebrate my victory yesterday after having to attend to team meeting to deal with the rising conflict between Craddock and I.

I still don't get why he is so upset. He thinks being team leader
makes him superior over everybody else. Sure, I didn't follow team orders
but I got the stage win. How can he still be mad at me?

A nice flat stage with a minor incline at the finish.
Should be no problems keeping yellow today.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/1_zpsf7ee1f9e.jpg

The last time I wore yellow was in the 2015 Amgen Tour of Califonia.
Of course, history says that never happened though. Frown

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/2_zpsce8970de.jpg

As we reach the climb to the cat. 3 near the finish, Craddock attacks!
That wasn't in the team meeting! He is doing the same thing I did yesterday!

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/3_zps22d929c8.jpg

Our DS is in rage mode. But, tells us not to chase Cradddock back.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/4_zps8c47f745.jpg

5kms to go and Lawson is last man standing.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/5_zpsadb6dc01.jpg

Not today Craddock! That's karma for you.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/6_zps38dfb2b5.jpg

The only thing that would make today's soap opera
even better was if I won the stage in a bunch sprint...

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/7_zpsb4ab9f0b.jpg

Yeah, that's not going to happen. Only in my dreams.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep11/8_zpsd389f742.jpg

Matej Mohorič takes the win over Jakob Rathe and Sebastian Lander.

After the stage our DS grabbed Lawson and I by our jerseys (as we were
in the middle of another argument) and dragged us into the team bus.

Come on guys work it out. Travis went for it and he claimed it. What's wrong with that

@welker3257: You guys were getting needy with the EXP points so I had to troll you. Pfft Sorry, it had to be done. I don't just give out points at will, Travis has to earn them. Wink

And I don't think Craddock is going to take that well, especially when it's coming from a doper. But the thought behind it makes sense.

@Jakstar22: Going against team orders struck a nerve with Lawson it seems. Stay tuned to see how it unfolds. Wink (Hey, I had to stir some controversy up, it's the end of the 14 season almost. Pfft )

I'm not going to be able to make that press conference. Rolling Eyes

I'm flying back to LA to see the kids and Chloe on that day.
Then the next day I'm drive down to San Diego for the
opening prologue in the Amgen Tour of California.

I guess I'm going to have to find out the information
in that press conference on the news or something.

Until then, #SaveTheFoxCyclingProgram

After literally throwing Craddock and I onto the team bus,
our DS only had to say one sentence and the message was clear.

"If you don't follow team orders from now on, your not getting your paycheck."

And with that, we continue on with the last 3 stage of the Tour of the Gila.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%209/Ep7/S3-Profile_zps0cc5c138.jpg

The race against the clock. My goal is just to beat Craddock,
that would make me very happy. The prick is getting on my nerves.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/2_zpsd355aa68.jpg

Craddock is out to prove his worth as well so this isn't going to be easy.
He stops the clock at 34'37". Good for 2nd best so far.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/3_zpsaef8e839.jpg

At the first check I realize there is no way I'm beating Craddock.
So, I shift my focus on keeping 2nd place Deignan behind me.

Which I do and I keep yellow. Setting the 19th best time.
And a disappointing 51 seconds slower than Lawson.

A stage I remember well. Don't pull another Reda like back in 2014.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/4_zps025d2c51.jpg

I stay out of trouble and the breakaway wins. Which is fine by me because
the sprinters don't get the bonus seconds at the finish to move up the GC.

This is the longest I have ever wore yellow, I'm starting to get use to it. Grin

Everything comes down to this, the last stage. I have a 27" lead over Deignan.
And our DS warn us again before the stage. If we don't listen, we don't get paid.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/5_zpse6a286d7.jpg

We jump all the way to the last categorized climb. Deignan and a few other favourites have put in their attacks. Lawson is ordered to chase. He does. Shock

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/6_zpse5c4175c.jpg

And Craddock brings everyone back on the downhill.
I can hear sarcastic clapping over the team radio.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/7_zpsddcce1ee.jpg

10kms to go, Craddock, without notice, accelerates. What is this!?!
No order whatsoever. He then yells, "Come on Trav, keep up. Prove yourself."

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/8_zps22d3dca8.jpg

What an idiot. Craddock burns out 3 kilometers later and leaves me solo.
I keep pushing but the depleted peloton makes the catch with 1.2km to go.

All I have to do is not slip through the back of the field and I have won the tour.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/9_zps46c26ed5.jpg

Davide Malacarne gets the stage win over former teammate Sebastian Henao.
And if you look over to the left of the picture you can see...

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/10_zpsf8f51579.jpg

Craddock and I coming to the line in the same group. You would be damn right that I gave him a piece of mind in the last kilometer (and after the race).

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/The%20Comeback/Season%2014/Ep12/11_zps616b6afa.jpg

But, in the end. I got the last laugh! My first career tour win!
The 2017 Tour of the Gila in New Mexico, USA.

Max points all around. I think this is the first time this has ever happened! Grin

The next race update will include the first 2 two stages of the Tour of California:

Spoiler

My training is in your hands for the rest of my career.
After each race I can receive both EXP and Form Points.
EXP is a permanent stat gains while Form is temporary (the next race update).
A maximum of 3 EXP and 5 Form can be rewarded after each stage.

After any stage I receive EXP or Form points
you guys get to decided where I put those stat gains to use.

All you have to do is comment on which category you want
1 of the stat gains to go (Ex. Mountain, Sprint, Flat, etc.)
The EXP points are used up first followed by the Form.

Each member can only say one category for themselves.
And it will go until all the points are used up.

If you have any questions about my training, leave a question below.
It looks confusing at first but it's rather simple,
and this will be the only method for me to progress talent wise.

Be careful. Any time someone says that, something dark goes down and he loses all his stats again Pfft

This deserves a Banana

Awesome race for Travis. Well deserved win, taking the lead on good strategy and then fighting to keep it (from your own attacking team mate eh Pfft). Now onto California, hope some good results are on the way (but not as good as 2015 preferably, would be too suspicious  ), maybe a breakaway late in the race. Ah, and if Fox announces the team will disband just before the main race of the year and just after such a win, they really lack some understanding of timing and athlete confidence Angry +1 HIL (and which California route is that?)

Max points all around. I think this is the first time this has ever happened! Grin

Definitely happened 3 times in a row, when you won back-to-back semi-pro events in TT, Huez and Champs Elysees (having just recently read it all does help in remembering this Pfft). And the first of them 3, the TT in San José.. maybe a good sign for next week? Wink

ps.: wasn't that Fox tweet a bit too long for twitter? Pfft
