Hi all! I've had a little time to recover after an intense month of March, and especially after riding an extreme edition of the Ronde Van Vlaanderen. And i've been staying at Tuscany for a while, to train together with my Italian team-mate and friend Davide Appollonio, gaining some great results in the training.
I can feel that i've already improved a lot since the start of the season, both in my training, but also when riding the races. Especailly my stamina has improved, but also my capability to ride uphill, which probably also is due to my loss of weight.
Development In Attributes
I'll soon reach one of the absolute highlights of my season, when riding towards the ardennes-classics. They're some of my favorite races (at least i think so) and i hope to do good in those races in the future. Therefore it's very important for my confidence to show a good figure.
Greetings Salvatore

Really great report of the Ronde van Vlaanderen!! Puccio did very well for his first Ronde. And too bad for Flecha, but he'll take revenge in PR.

@Ian Butler: Yeah, let's hope so - I'm sure he'll give his all
@dienblad: Thanks! I also think Puccio rode very well at the Ronde, especially when only 69 riders completed the race. As in the Ronde, Flecha always makes a decent result in the PR, he'll surely be in the top

Pre-Tactics
I've had a little time to recover from the Ronde Van Vlaanderen, and i'm ready for Rund um Köln, which only is gonna be a warm up race for the ardennes. We are competing with a strong team, ready for both cobble-sections and a possible sprint. So we can't go all wrong.

The Race
Geraint and a few cobblers tried to slip away on the last cobble-section, but the way home was too long. The race therefore finished in a mass sprint, where especially Saxo Bank was really active. But in the end our own Swift ended up taking an amazing first season victory!

My job today was to help the other guys, keeping Geraint and Ben out of the wind, and that job i completed very well i think. When Thomas got away, i only concentrated on keeping Swift out of the wind, and the way he repayed my work couldn't have been any better.
Greetings Salvatore

Vuelta a Castilla y León 12/4 - 14/4 2012
Pre-Race
The whole Ardennes-classics lineup has assembled in Spain to ride the Vuelta a Castilla y León as warm up race ahead of the classics. With a route dominated by mountains, Urán who's in great shape, will be our main captain.
The route doesn't fit me very well, but due to my great shape at the moment, i've got a free role for this race. I'm definitely looking forward for tomorrows first stage, which suits me really well.
