I wouldn't be surprised to see you defend the TOA title and easily stay up along the way, it's still a really scary pair of leaders you've got there, the change in division doesn't change that at all.
That Tour de Romandie squad is looking unbeatable without even seeing the remaining five riders.
That was exactly my reaction - could be some huge points.
Was expecting Elosegui to defend his title in America but great to see if Jorgenson can do what the best American stage racer of his generation couldn't .
The 2025 cycling season is officially underway! Too bad our guys have to wait until the end of the month for the Circulo de Juarez before we can get started. To pass the time, we have gathered all the predictions from the so-called "experts" to show where they think we will finish in our return season to the PCT division.
From 2nd to 19th and everything in-between, there really isn't a consensus of where we might end up besides not relegating (which is nice). The team goal is a Top 10 finish, so that's what we are aiming for. See you on the road!
The Start of Something Memorable: American youngster Matteo Jorgenson celebrates his first pro win on Aug. 28, 2022, after winning the Stage 6 ITT at the Tour de l'Avenir.
Most Wins in Team History: Matteo Jorgenson
With his victory on Stage 4 of the Tour of California in Thousand Oaks, team captain Matteo Jorgenson etched his name atop the team record book, claiming his record-setting 17th career win under Mresuperstar’s management. The milestone comes in just his fourth season with the team.
Jorgenson moves past Spanish climber Justo Tenorio (2018–20), who would fairly note that many of his victories came in arguably tougher races — and that he captured a Pro Tour win, an opportunity Jorgenson has yet to receive. Jorgenson hasn't won a national championship yet either. So, plenty more still to accomplish.
Below is the current Top 5, and the only five riders to reach double-digit wins across the team’s 14-season history.
Seventeen wins now sit beside his name, but for Jorgenson, the total is just a snapshot rather than a finish line. With races still to be ridden and bigger opportunities ahead, the record feels less like an endpoint and more like a marker along the way that we knew he would reach sooner than later.
How high that number climbs by the time his career with the team is done remains an open question — and one worth watching.
Jorgenson as the teams GOAT after only a couple of seasons is impressive, although it wouldn't have been possible without the bounce to CT and the sacrifice of Powless and Girmay. It's still just a scary thought what a team this would have been ...
Zwift - Newton Foundation Locks in Three-Year Extension
Team manager Mresuperstar confirmed today that Zwift and the Newton Foundation have finalized a new three-year sponsorship extension, securing the future of the cycling program through at least the 2028 season.
The agreement comes on the heels of one of the most successful performances in recent team history at the Tour de Romandie, where American team captain Matteo Jorgenson delivered an impressive GC victory that fulfilled one of the organization’s primary sporting objectives for the season.
Jorgenson dominated the Swiss stage race from start to finish, claiming the overall general classification while also winning a stage, securing the points classification, and capturing the King of the Mountains jersey. The week began with a statement performance from the entire squad as Zwift - Newton Foundation powered to victory in the opening TTT, immediately placing the team in control of the race.
The comprehensive success not only marked a defining achievement for the organization but also proved pivotal in the PCT standings, creating valuable separation from the relegation zone with four races remaining on the calendar.
For Mresuperstar, the timing of the extension reflects how far the organization has come since rebuilding following consecutive relegations earlier in the decade.
“Romandie showed exactly what this team is striving to become,” said Mre. “We’re no longer fighting just to survive. We’re competing at the highest level of the division. Zwift and the Newton Foundation believed in the long-term vision, and this extension allows us to keep building something sustainable and competitive.”
Zwift will continue as title sponsor alongside the Newton Foundation, maintaining the team identity as Zwift - Newton Foundation for the duration of the agreement. Both partners reaffirmed their shared commitment to rider development, innovation in training, and using cycling as a platform for community impact and stroke awareness advocacy.
As part of today’s announcement, Zwift - Newton Foundation also unveiled its official jersey for the 2026 season, symbolizing continuity, renewed confidence, and the next chapter of the team’s ongoing rise to the top of the sport.
