Calendar, Goals and Race Profiles 2025
AbhishekLFC
The Race Profiles forum for the 2025 season is now online. Like the last few years, it is ordered by race category. You will always be able to find them via the search function. Race clashes are correct in the calendar file and should be in the profile threads. So in case it`s different there, the calendar file always is the correct and used one. An important thing to remember when looking at the race profiles with a time trial symbol: a white clock is an ITT, a TT symbol with a jersey in it is a TTT.

The 2025 calendar file (which also has the HC/PTHC bands listed) can be downloaded here: https://pcmdaily....endar.xlsx

It is also now possible for you to decide on your team goals.

Team Goals form a vital part of each team's season. In the short term, how hard goals you pick will determine your final budget - but in the longer term, how well you achieve those goals in the season will have a significant effect on your budget for the following season.

Going for harder goals could reward you greatly if you achieve them, but will punish you if you fail them. Easier goals will be less punishing if you don't achieve them, but they are in turn less rewarding as well.

For new CT teams, it obviously isn't easy to pick goals without knowing what your team will be - so now is the time to decide which races you want to focus on, and you can then target riders in the transfers season appropriately.

Each type of goal has a cost, and every team must select 5 goals. The total goal cost must be between 14 and 23. There are also certain constraints on what type of goal you can select.

No more than 1 Points/KoM Goal

Note for all: The stage wins goals means stage wins. Overall race victories - be it a stage race or one day race - do not count. Stages wins during PT (wildcard) races for PCT teams do not count either.

Race Flexibility

For one of your goals, you can select 2 races (of the same goal cost) rather than 1. For example: "Top 10, Paris - Nice OR Tour of Qatar". At the end of the transfer season, you must then choose which of these two races you want to keep in your goal.

C1 Goals Flexibility for CT Teams

CT teams must have exactly 1 C1 goal, which is difficult as it`s not guaranteed for you to take part in that race. Therefore you MUST use an additional flexible OR goal on another C1 race, in which you send priority list of another 4 C1 race goals of the same goal cost where the C1 goal will move over in case you weren`t getting a spot. This doesn`t impact the one regular flexible OR goal as written above for all teams, which still can be used by CT teams.

For example:
Win C1 1 Jour de Dunkerque 6
OR Win C1 Race From Priority List
- GP Izola 6
- Lillestrom GP 6
- La Tropicale Amissa Bongo 6
- Tour de Pologne 6

Very big shuffling with the Vuelta moving to the fall and TOA (and a lot of other races) to spring! Tradition aside, I think it makes sense in terms of keeping the pace of all divisions proper throughout the year. I know this was something discussed in the suggestions threads, so thanks for putting some thought into it!

First of all, I think the calendar team did a good job overall. Thanks a lot to all of the people involved! (I know I'm mentioned, too, but I did nothing about the calendar, just the profile thread stuff)

I do like the fact that the PT calendar got some better balance now, I felt like the end of the season was pretty empty. Surely has something to do with my bands selection, but now with the Vuelta being moved to September the final months definitely are more spicy!
I also think that the new design of the HC bands is positive. Having 2 stage races in one band had some bands with higher points scoring potential than others, and I think the balance is better now. Even though every PCT could freely pick their HC bands since the reduction to 24 teams, so this might be a minor effect. But we have more races in HC now, which also means more free spots for CT teams - up to them to pick up these spots.

However, where I join ivan and sean is that I don't like the list of races that are gone. I mean, the TTers got quite an OVL bump for this year, and now we cancel Catalunya that included a TTT, Vineyards that included a TTT, and Arab that was the only HC race for the pure TTers (with Danmark and Norway being for the more versatile ones). Plus, Olympia, which had this great unique combo of ITT and TTT, has been reduced to just a TTT. I feel like the removed races are a bit unbalanced in terms of diversity, but this might just be me and my TT affinity Pfft

Plus, given Theuns' 3rd place in Macskako last year, I'm obviously not overly happy to see it removed from PT - on the other hand, just like knockout I had an ageing cobbler - and getting Kigali instead is actually pretty cool Grin (even though with Girmay being maxed it would feel a better fit for HC this year tbh)

But as a said before, overall a good job, well done!

A few thoughts from me - these reflect my input on the process but shouldn't be considered official.

Catalunya will be back, we were finding ways to cut back the calendar to reduce reporting and it was just the race that made sense in the end and when we reached that conclusion there wasn't a lot of time to shuffle parcours.

I think there was a consensus on the calendar team to somewhat reduce TT days. Personally I beleive TTers are still undervalued even with the OVL changes. Maybe we have gone too far, we will see. I think one factor is that with the current game and RDC constraints top TTers are almost guaranteed to score in their races in the way other riders are not.

With the RD reductions and current team count, subscriptions to C1 and maybe C2 will be tight this year, so be prepared not to get your first choices in all cases.

We are still waiting to get goals from 6 PT managers, 4 PCT managers and 6 CT managers. The deadline for this is 14th August, as previously mentioned in the timelines thread. Please send them in before the deadline. You cannot start transfers without a budget, and for that you need to submit goals.

In case new managers need some help deciding goals, you can reach out to your mentors (or to any other manager in general) or can post a reply here.

AbhishekLFC
Reminder that the deadline for goals is tomorrow, 14th August!

Also a callout to new managers to read through the first post thoroughly and get your goals in.

Hey,
As in previous years, I created the 2025 calendar in BBCode to use in the forum. You can C&P the code from the spoiler, and just remove the races you don't need.
So whoever wants to use it in some way, feel free to do so - be it in your HQ, season previews, or whatever...

I know we had some flag discussions last year - I picked whatever flag I deemed appropriate, i.e. some regional flags for Basque Country, flags for Isle of Man or Guadeloupe, ... Take whatever flag you want, feel free to modify your copy as you want :)

I tried to do my best for multi-nation races to include all the countries using the stage departures and arrivals - but they might not be 100% accurate, in particular the GTs.

Most multi-nation races haven't changed; in fact, I only found the GTs that needed some modifications. Le Tour starts in Luxembourg and then moves on to Belgium, before finally arriving in France.
The Vuelta has a stage starting in Andorra, and also visits France.
The Tour of America is back in the U.S. - almost exclusively, with only the first stages being in Aruba.

What might be more error-prone this year are the category changes, as there have been so many of these.

Hit me up in case of questions or if you've got some ideas to make this calendar better/more readable. Also, please tell me if you spot any mistakes.

3 PT managers, 1 PCT manager and 4 CT managers are yet to submit goals.

The deadline is today! Please dont make us have to think of a penalty Rolling Eyes

In past years, the penalty was starting transfers late (i.e. no addition to the Transfers group before goals & rules were checked). And obviously both the managers receiving the goals and the admins handing out the budget not necessarily available instantly, because they have other priorities then Pfft

I have a suggestions for next year... Posting it here because I think it's an appropriate place, and next year's suggestions thread isn't there yet.

In particular for new managers, it's tricky to figure out the table layout. Sure, you can always quote and remove unused stuff, but it would be easier to directly include the code instead of "just" giving examples (or even do both). So, in the Calendar, Goals and Race Profile thread, instead of using just this:

Spoiler
Race AWin/Top X etc.Cost
Race BWin/Top X etc.Cost
Race CWin/Top X etc.Cost
Race DWin/Top X etc.Cost
Team StandingsOptionCost

I would suggest to use something like this:

Spoiler
Code:

[table=100%]Race A|Win/Top X etc.|Cost
Race B|Win/Top X etc.|Cost
Race C|Win/Top X etc.|Cost
Race D|Win/Top X etc.|Cost
Team Standings|Option|Cost[/table]

Result:
Race AWin/Top X etc.Cost
Race BWin/Top X etc.Cost
Race CWin/Top X etc.Cost
Race DWin/Top X etc.Cost
Team StandingsOptionCost

Then we can directly copy the code to a PM (or a text editor), modify and send.

Are we still doing/is it necessary to add the 3 extra ghost stages at flat stage races? Did someone tested this with and without in PCM24?

We are still adding ghost stages, testing was indeterminate on whether we needed it so left them in to be safe.

Why is this done?

At least in the current game version, sprinters wearing the yellow jersey in flat stage races (like Qatar, Baltic Chain, Juarez etc.) would not sprint, because a bug in the game apparently makes GC favourites not participate in bunch sprints.
With the added hidden mountain stages (they were never raced), they were no longer considered GC favourites and did participate in sprints, as they should.

Because in races with only flat stages the AI will treat the race leader as a GC leader and then they don't contest sprint finishes which means taking the race lead early is a curse. It was a big problem in PCM22, less sure about PCM24 but we kept it to be safe. Will evaluate this season.
