Welcome to the 10th edition of Geraardsbergen-Bosberg. 12 CT teams did register for this combination of cobbles and hills in the heart of the 'Flemish Ardennes'. They are accompanied by 6 PCT teams.
All eyes are on Ruben Zepuntke for this one. Although his hill qualities are limited, he should compensate more than enough with his pure cobble skill. He will be feeling the pressure after a mere 14th place in Gent-Wevelgem. Within the same team there is an alternative called Beka Nareklishvili, 5th in GP Herning.
Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team will count on the duo Jonas Hvideberg and Brent Van Moer. They finished 7th and 13th in Herning respectively. Then there is Duvel-Tsingtao, who could be seen as the successor of Crabpack. With Bert Van Lerberghe (4th Herning and 6th in G-W), Timo Roosen (11th Herning), Christoph Noppe they have three cards to play with.
Good old Tom David (Glanbia) could be seen as a winning candidate, with his cobbles-hill combination and already a winner in Gent-Wevelgem. Then there is Trans Looney Tunes who have three outsiders in Lecourt De Billot, Clenne Morvan Moulingui (winner in Herning) and Ivan Centrone. The PCT teams have a list of dark horses with Mathias De Witte (5th in G-W), Joanis Nielsen (7th in G-W) and Jesse Kaislavuo (8th in G-W) and Martin Schäppi among others.

Thanks Laurens. Indeed, good old Tom David has another chance to make this upside down year even more upside down for Glanbia.
good luck all

Awesome preview here, thank you!
A bit more hopeful seeing our rising superstar on the favorites list. Let's see how we handle this one

Thanks for the preview!
A top 10 could be possible for our duo of Darbinyan and Hofstetter. It worked well for now, but maybe the hills are a bit too much? In any case, both of them have their chances in a grouped arrival.
Good luck everyone!

Thanks so much for the preview Laurens! This is one on the calendar where we thought we could do some damage, but looking closer at the race profile, it looks like the hills will have a part to play.
I'd put my money on Trans Looney Tunes scoring very well, with quite a few solid looking riders in their contingent this race.

I hope Edmondson Can do something here. We deliberately chose this race to give him a chance for leadership.

Let’s just get into the breakaway again and hope for a higher finish because of that. Not expecting anything obviously.
Good luck everyone!

Great report, thank you.
PCT 1-2, oh well.
We'll take a 3rd, that also makes it the best we've ever done in a cobble race in the teams history. Milestone.

A 5th place here for Kaislavuo atleast get us some points.
Good to see our former rider Hvideberg on the podium for Gjensidige too

Three in the top 20 is decent, if not good enough. Still, if that enters our lower PPRD on the trimester, I'll be happy.
Also Serrano already this high up is good.
Thanks for the report, congrats Laurens.

PCT kicking some ass here, congrats Laurens!
Races like this is why we need to have someone like De Witte around, not letting the mandatory C2 go to waste. Great second place.
Thanks for the report Abhi!

Hmmmm, i have thought a while what to think about it. I mean I cant really be super dissapointed with a 4th place. BUT with Zepuntke I just expected more and if i look at the outcome and how it went at the final kilometres i cant even unedrstand why he couldnt make it. Anyway, congrats to Laurens and thanks fo the report.
Hopefully Zepuntke and also Nareklishvili can step up their game a bit ????

Congrats Laurens and thanks for the report Abhi. 8th and 10th is an alright return for us, but we aren't quite taking advantage of the cobbles the way we'd like. On the bright side, it was just PCT punching down on us lowly CT teams in this one
