Not much to say, Kamna was never gonna do well here. I normally love a Wurtz win, but not gonna help us in the relegation fight here.

Politt should be a lock for the Top 50 and has a shot at the Top 25-30 on a good day, Verona is Top 50 material as well but much less consistent. And then Young and Silvestre should finish in the Top 100, at least in the time trial, which would add a few more points.
Well, Politt is 28th currently in the GC, which is great. Verona missed the mark slightly, but 72nd isn't completely unreasonable in this field, and Young did make the Top 100 (so far, at least). Silvestre obviously with a terrific ride, now in 4th overall. He's a 2nd place finish away from the yellow jersey, but it would shock me if he did that. The stage win already shocked me, tbf, but that doesn't make a second shock any more likely. I rate Enger's chances higher, though it will be tough for him, too.
Either way, it looks very likely that we end up with a Top 5 finish in this race (unless Enger scores a few bonus seconds and Manninen wins both remaining stages, which I would love to see, honestly). That's absolutely incredible, and even if it comes with a slightly sour taste due to the general AI misbehavior, I'll still very much take it!

Ups and downs in this TT for us... Unfortunately, our best TTer on paper was the one having a really bad day; several 79 TTers made the Top 15, Rekita did not. Which means we definitely won't get any sponsor bonus from this race, miserably failing the Top 10 goal by a landslide. Pretty sad, given that even 8th place was possible for another random 79 TTer today...
On the other hand, Bjerg was even more disappointing, and so Bissegger surprisingly gets white, at least for one day. Please, Stefan, don't throw it out of the window again like in Arab Tour...
Brunel wasn't good at all, 43rd in GC is clearly disappointing, but still 3rd in U25. Overall, that's 2/3 TTers having a really bad day, whereas other teams had their only TTer do a great job. Not what I call lucky, but I guess we've already used up our luck in this race with Page. Would be happy if we get close to the expected 50 points, but still two chances with potential stupid splits to go...
Congrats to Würtz on the expected win - hopefully the TTers actually win this race, would feel really wrong to see a sprinter take it...

That's the win we were hoping for! Always good to get that in the bag, but the GC is very much undecided here with both Silvestre and Engen quite close. For our sake, I hope it will stay that way, but certainly a lot that could happen.
Quite shit depth wise, but the win was the major thing, so happy with the stage. Full focus for the last two stages now, guys... (no gaps plz)

The worst TT of the season for us, especially Lammertink who has been consistent all year has a real stinker and might not even finish in the top 20. Howson wasn't awful, but slightly underwhelming.
Given the points we have already this should be a great scoring race, just in a weird way with Enger currently 5th in GC. Hopefully there are no more splits for anyone in the final two stages.

Sorry, the two last stages will come tomorrow instead of today, I've forgotten my notes home.

Happy with Zmorka's second place, Sütterlin and Sterbini nothing special but good enough. Hopefully Zmorka can stay second and doesn't see sprinters passing him, or worse, splits happening again. Just like cunego I also wouldn't mind a Manninen win or two Congratulations tastasol, and thank you for the great TT report, Imladrik.

It wouldn't, if a sprinter with let's say 75 TT won 3 stages and just fended off the specialists in the TT. But a 71/72 TTer (depending on whether it'd be Enger or Silvestre) winning a race designed for TT specialists, thanks to a random 1'20" gap on a flat stage, would feel wrong to me. Up to you to have different feelings of course

Cosnefroy and Thomas a little underwhelming but, in such a strong field, around where they should be I guess. Hopeful for something special in the final stages

FFS, Enger is now 2nd in GC?!

Page leading the points classification in a PTHC race afer 3/4 flat stages - probably being the 15th best sprinter or even lower - is surely one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in MG so far.
I'll obviously take the points, but this race really feels like a joke by now. Sorry for the teams of the top sprinters who get close to nothing out of this race - and also sorry to the teams of the top TTers who are getting screwed by these gaps on flat stages...
When speaking of gaps - surprised to have a 16" gap there, I thought anything below 20" on flat stages isn't considered a gap... Must have messed up some infos I guess.
Thanks for the report, and congrats to Puma - at least the stage winner has 80+ in sprint ^^

Great to see sprinters using their superior skills to get the gaps and challenging TTers. What a race !

A terrible sprint again, but luckily Manninen being a decent sprinter means he jumps from 39th to 15th in GC. Zmorka dropped to third and might fall outside the sponsor top-5 in the next stage, but hopefully in that case Manninen will replace him there. Congratz cio. Thanks for the nice report, Imladrik.

Congrats cio, good to see Kanter repay your faith in him.
Great result again from Abdul Halil, he made it as hard as he could for himself and kept getting faster the closer to the line he got. Maybe could have taken the win if the race was a couple of hundred metres longer, still very happy with the result. Hopefully he can back it up tomorrow.
As for the rest of the field, it’s another pretty random top-10 filled with riders you would not expect. Feel bad for the teams of the big guns getting the rough end of the stick.
Thanks for the report of course

I suppose it would be rather hypocritical if I complained about Silvestre losing a GC spot due to a time split, wouldn't it

Thinking about ourselves mainly, I was first happy to see that Enger and Silvestre didn't manage to get any bonus seconds, but then that split appeared. Well, we're still in the lead, but we will certainly be worried about a new split on the finale stage now ... To lose on bonus seconds to some hybrid sprinter/TT-er would of course had been totally fine, but two splits on three sprint stages is not good in a race like this. Oh well, fingers crossed for the final stage.

I knew when AKA went that early that he had no chance to actually hold on, so in the end I'm quite satisfied that he managed to hang on for a top 5 rather than fall off the map entirely. Still, I'd really like a good sprint from him on the final stage as well. Another top 5 and a top 5 on points would make this a successful race for us relatively, even with the low points total generally.
Commiserations to those continuing to suffer horrible sprint luck.
