Willkommen in Germany for a 5 days tour in the northern part of the country, more precisely in Niedersachsen, around the Land capital, Hannover.
The race has been a puncheur race, but since 2018 it’s for sprinters and time-trialists. Thus, there has been only two winners in the 5 last editions: Mads Würtz (2020, 2021 and 2022) and Jerome Coppel (2018, 2019).

Würtz is the best placed to add a fourth victory in a row for Grieg. He’s the best time-trialist here, and will have a team strong enough to bring him back should any problem arise.
His two main contenders should be Wirtgen, who comes with a whole TT team, making them favorites for the team classification, and Ukrainian superstar Zmorka. Los Pollos Hermanos also brings in Sütterlin, who could also have a great result on his name.
| SP | AC | FL | ST | RS | Coquard | 84 | 83 | 73 | 71 | 74 | Ewan | 83 | 81 | 75 | 73 | 71 | Ahlstrand | 82 | 81 | 73 | 73 | 72 | Enger | 81 | 78 | 73 | 71 | 73 | Manninen | 81 | 80 | 74 | 71 | 75 | Samolenkov | 81 | 79 | 74 | 75 | 71 | Kanter | 81 | 80 | 75 | 75 | 73 | Kragh Andersen | 81 | 77 | 77 | 70 | 74 | Abdul Halil | 81 | 79 | 70 | 71 | 68 | Howard | 80 | 76 | 74 | 72 | 67 | Cullaigh | 80 | 81 | 74 | 73 | 70 | Kemboi | 80 | 80 | 78 | 74 | 77 | Jakobsen | 80 | 80 | 74 | 75 | 73 |
There are 4 sprint stages, long ones which shouldn’t go to any breakaway, and a points jersey to take! We logically have some of the best sprinters of the peloton to compete. Coquard is the best of them, wanting to repeat his 3 wins from last season. He also had the two last points jerseys. The 2nd favorite is Ewan, who hasn’t won any stage on this race yet.
Also worth of note is Manninen and his 3 stage wins (and a point jersey, back in 2020), and Ahlstrand (two stages and the point jersey in 2019). But all in all, it’s a very strong sprint field here.

Tough field, but that was to be expected. Politt should be a lock for the Top 50 and has a shot at the Top 25-30 on a good day, Verona is Top 50 material as well but much less consistent. And then Young and Silvestre should finish in the Top 100, at least in the time trial, which would add a few more points. We obviously have Silvestre for the sprints, too, but he's a Top 15 sprinter at most, so any Top 8 result would be a positive surprise. Not a whole lot to look forward to, tbh But at the same time, every stage could have a positive surprise in store, too.
Thanks for the preview, looking forward to the reports!

Ahlstrand and Bjerg to sweep all the stages. It's the only way

Yeah, that horrible band again... With 13 80+ TTers, the best I could hope for with Rekita would be a lower Top 15, or being lucky (for once) with favourable wind conditions during his ride. Could also be on the lower end of the Top 20 though.
Bissegger and Brunel *should* be similar to what cunego said for Politt, plus Top 5 material in the U25. But we've seen in Arab Tour (and partly in Slovenia) that they won't hesitate to throw everything out of the window...
We have Page for the sprints, who won't even make the extended favourites list in that field, but we've seen other 78 sprinters winning stages against PT's top stars... I'd be surprised if he scored, but with the current engine he basically could even win stage 1 and get us (almost) the 50 points we're hoping for right on day one ^^
Otherwise, hopefully breakaway apperances - ideally with Bissegger or Brunel who could improve their U25 chances. Wearing a KoM jersey for one day is something we haven't seen yet this year, so that could be a goal
Generally speaking, I guess it's another PTHC race with not much on offer for PCT teams that don't have an 80+ TTer. So basically a good race incoming for LPH and Assa, and whatever the PT teams leave over for the rest.
Hoping to sign a strong TTer, we have a Top 10 sponsor goal here - ridiculous with the roster we now have and the way TTs tend to play out.
Good luck to all, looking forward to the fight Würtz vs. Wirtgen vs. Zmorka!

Top-5 sponsor goal here, so Zmorka preferably not with an off-day and 12th in GC like last year. Top-3 by Zmorks and top-10 by Sütterlin would be ideal. Like Imladrik mentioned, Manninen has done great here in the past, so would be lovely to see him perform great again. He can prove himself against the likes of Ewan, Coquard and Ahlstrand, who I hope perform decent as well.
Thanks for a great preview Imladrik, and good luck to all
@Fab: this is a great band!

Yes, I do love the band - I just don't have a strong enough team for it
We may have limited the daily form a bit too much with +/-2, with the TT races now having less variance than any other terrain - I guess with the previous version I might have had a shot at the Top 10 goal on a good day, but could also have had everyone outside the Top 50 on a bad one

Could really do with some good points here but going to be tough in this field. Jakobsen going to need to find something special in the sprints while both Thomas and Cosnefroy are capable on their day but going to be tough for either of them to crack the Top 15.
Fingers crossed we get a favourable split along the way

Need a lot of sprint luck with AKA to get anything out of this race. So, we'll hope for that.
Thanks for the preview!

I vote bad. Not sure we have managed a single top 20 result in this band. Really only 2 of the bands had anything for us so the rest were always going to be bad.
Not sure sending Walscheid here made sense but maybe he will get lucky.
I agree that +3/-3 might be a good idea

We've had a lot of success here the last few years, so fingers crossed for another good run in Deutschland ... We certainly need a good results to get us out of the relegation zone here. Looking forward to it!

This is the last stage race where I can realistically expect a good scoring output. So hopefully we continue our recent momentum to push on and secure a top 10 team ranking. Lower GC top 10s for both Lammertink and Howson definitely has to be goal and I won't complain if anyone in the 76-78 TT range has a good day
Enger hopefully performs in at least one of the four sprint stages.
I didn't realise how well he's been doing on loan

What a startlist! Abdul Halil is our hope here, he won’t be good enough for a lead out thank god so hopefully he can fly under the radar and pick up some good points for us with some solid finishes.
Thanks for the preview!

Wow!! Enger is back from his vacation?
Well that's his job done for the entire race. We can now focus on keeping our main TTers safe, although we might be forced into taking up chasing duties tomorrow. Hopefully some of the other good sprinters get lucky in the other three stages.

17th by Manninen is a bit worse than I hoped Seems like he was boxed in for a while, and then just couldn't do anything anymore. Hopefully we see better results from him on the other flat stages.
Congratulations to Cedevita on the win, and once again on their loaned out rider Selimovic doing so well! Thank you for a nice report, Imladrik.

A stage win at PTHC level would have been wonderful! Good to see Howard still showing his strength against this field though. More opportunities and hopefully he can get one. Good sprint performance. Just went a little too early!
Good sprint from Enger!

He's been great in breakaway groups so far and he didn't disappoint today. Congrats for the stage win BTW
Thanks for the report, Imladrik

Good effort by Habimana. Would've loved for him to take the polkadots, but still a good start to the race. Silvestre looked like he was in a decent position, but simply not strong enough. Thanks for the report and congrats red!

Unfortunately AKA just got boxed in there. Not much to be done about that. He's in the mix and hopefully will get some better luck in the next few days.
