The following update includes some big races such as the first GT of the season with the Giro d'Italia as also two monuments on the cobbles with Roubaix and Vlaanderen. In general some more cobbles with Maszako Kerek and Strade Appia Antica. Some climbing in Colombia for some teams, some sprint/TT in Praka Karlovy and some allrounder race in the Nederlands.
First of the race scoring without the Giro! So expect the cobble teams to dominate here plus those that did win the other events.
Isostar best in those races, mainly though from the TT events in Praha and the win in the Nederlands with decent performances as well on the cobbles.
Grieg as cobbled focused team obviously with a top performance here scoring in all their favoured races.
MOL, Festina and Huski follow as only other teams coming close and passing the 1000 point mark in that period.
At to bottom Xero and Swift not with the best scoring.

Who else but Puma with Giro winner Herklotz could have dominated here? They scored 1631 of which 1400 alone are by the German. What a domination really.
Huski due to Dombrowski`s 2nd, Zwift with multiple stage wins by Yates, Amaysim with Morton`s 4th follow next but except for Huski no team even has half the points of Puma.
Festina with a really poor Giro as last team, they were focussing on breakaways and despite having quite a lot of attacks, it often weren`t the best choices really. Grieg was just a tiny bit better with EA Vesuvio, MOL and ISA following.

Riders:

With all races in till now, the new PT ranking looks like this.
Puma and Isostar obviously remain in the top 2 with the most recent performances. The gap of Puma is already huge, almost 700 points ahead with another 500 points in between Isostar and Huski, who climbed up to 3rd!
Grieg, Festina, ISA and MOL all remain in the fight for the podium/top5 for now, while Gazelle and Moser climb a lot and join the fight with EA Vesuvio and Farfetch going the other direction.
Further down Amaysim, Evonik really needed those scoring to leave the relegation area. That said, Evonik surely had hoped for a few more stage points as they still are far from the top area.
Xero despite a good Giro goes down a lot and is now on the spot, that most predicted before the season. That said Areruya was one of the best Giro riders and showed great skills. Mapeo, Tinkoff, Generali and Zwift (despite Yates` Giro) drop down into the bottom 5 as well.
Aegon just above the line, which could have looked a lot worse without the KoM/stage win in the Giro, which still made them one of the weaker Giro lineups but one of the luckier there.

Herklotz is dominating the rankings for the moment. More than 2000 points, of which 1400 came from the Giro win. Phinney still 2nd but under pressure from Dombrowski, who though has likely less potential to score in the remaining races. But a good moment for the US riders.
Wisniowski as best classic rider for now followed by Kudus and Lecuisinier, while Gaviria as best sprinter in 7th.
Kemboi and Areruya highlight the African cycling a lot while Theuns is really having a great season for MOL so far.

PCT and CT will hopefully come as well this weekend.
Had hoped to see my team a bit higher really as scoring wise the cobbles with Van Hooydonck and Giro with Carboni were positive performances. Unfortunately often without a lot of depth points.
So it`s again a season fighting for staying in the PT I guess. That said, Olivier had iirc no single race day this period and Groenewegen if any, then just a very few and De Bie just 3 in Nederlands. So it was really a lot of weaker lineups with some solid performances by e.g. Schädlich in Praha as well. |

A great classics season by Wisniowski, and that makes up for a poor Giro. Great to be so high up in the rankings, though we have to expect to drop some places with the Vuelta and Tour still to come. Still quite close from Huski and all the way down, so a great race is all it takes to really jump up in the rankings.
Puma looks great at the top, but Phinney should have more good race days left than Herklotz, so still plenty to fight for.

Glad we clawed our way up to top 10. The mid-table is all very close though. We're only 332 points above relegation level.
Let's keep fighting

Being third is awesome, but with out best GT of the year and the cobbled monuments behind us, we will drop quite a lot in what is to come. Top 10 is still the goal and should be achieved.
Great to see Dombrowski going over 1000 points after last year's miss. Gerts also looks set to beat last year's points record. On the other hand, Grosu is definitely going to take a step back in points compared to next year. So let's see how Benoot will do in the hilly classics.

I think despite the bad Giro Festina right now is looking very good. If Lecuisinier has a Herklotz-esque Tour (which I think is probable) it could be a very interesting fight between Festina and Puma with us and Evonik (having used almost no Taaramae/Lopez race-days yet) well in the mix. And then there is a couple of dark horses left, I liked Gazelle so far f.e.. This will be very very interesting.
Also earlyon Tinkoff and Xero don't look very good, they might be in trouble. Between all others it should be wide open, but teams like Generali shouldn't stay down there.

Very generous of you to include us in there too.
For every race that works out decently for us, there are two races that don't work. And we might have plenty of good race days left but surely not enough to close down a 2000 points gap. I think you would include yourself in the relegation fight if our situations were swapped
Right now it feels like the Isostar leaders can do no wrong which means to me that Isostar is in the drivers spot and Puma looks to be the closest challenger with a few teams that could join in as well. Festina and a couple of others could still join in.
Thanks for the update!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Having not been around for most of the season 11th seems about where I'd expect us to be, although we're much closer to the relegation battle than I would have hoped/expected. If Yates performs at the Tour like Meintjes did in the Giro then we'll be headed back to the PCT again, especially with Cort Nielsen and the B team making up our Vuelta line-up.
On a side note, I'd like to thank everyone who has been keeping things going this season from an organisational and reporting perspective. For a variety of reasons I haven't been as engaged as usual - busy few months and not enjoying the Man-Game as much for a variety of reasons, both related to AI and other things. Not sure if I'll continue on next season at this point, but will try to be more active and involved at least moving forwards. After all, would hate to miss out on adding another relegation to complete my team's hold on that unfortunate record - 4 in 7 seasons would take some beating! |

Two of my former riders in the top 10, nice! Also good to see Puma on top, but I can't see them hold it I'm afraid. Herklotz definitely did what he had to do, but he's gonna be short on racedays soon.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

The run of not being last was fun but we're where we belong now. Not going to stop us having fun though, I've really enjoyed this season so far and some of my riders have barely got going yet (as seen by Nils Schomber being our third highest scorer), hope we can continue to be aggressive and make memories

Simon Yates shining at the Giro saved us from being the relegation zone after an abysmal spring classics season.

Had hoped for a bit more from Barguil in Giro, but seems we are terribly dependent on Bewley... Afraid this is going to be an uphill battle to not relegate
