14/26 PCT managers asked for wildcards and so it was not always easy to find the top priorities everywhere but I tried to make it as fair as possible for all teams that asked for at least one category of PT wildcards.
This means, most PT races now have 22 teams, 20 PT and 2 from PCT. A single GT remains with just 21 teams as wildcards weren`t really wanted there.
In specially the Giro was tough to pick as several teams didn`t really want the Vuelta or Tour de France, in the end this means, some teams missed out here, though I tried to "reward" them in other race categories as much as possible.
| Giro d'Italia | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | Polar | | Vuelta a Espana | cycleYorkshire | - | | Tour de France | Project: Africa | Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff | | Milano San Remo | Podium Ambition | Philips | | Ronde van Vlaanderen | Team UBS | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | | Paris - Roubaix | Eurosport x GCN | Cedevita | | Liege- Bastogne - Liege | Cedevita | Philips | | Giro di Lombardia | Team UBS | Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff |
The stage races actually were easiest this year to get up to 3 options even. 7 teams, 20 spots means, all got 3 options with Carlsberg being the only missing out there with just 2 Wildcards.
| Tour of Tasmania | Minions | Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff | | Grands Prix Cyclistes | Jura - Fiat | Project: Africa | | Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha | cycleYorkshire | Polar | | Criterium du Dauphine Libere | Project: Africa | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | | Paris-Nice | Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff | Project: Africa | | Tirreno-Adriatico | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff | | Ronde van Nederland | cycleYorkshire | Minions | | Tour of Qatar | Polar | Jura - Fiat | | Tour de Suisse | Jura - Fiat | cycleYorkshire | | Tour of Northern Europe | Minions | Polar |
The classics then again more difficult with 10 teams fighting for 20 spots. While it could have been 2 each, both priorities and in especially teams with only classics changed this, which sees Lierse and Duolingo actually get 3 options.
| Amstel Gold Race | Duolingo | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Chrono des Herbiers | Jura - Fiat | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Classique du Grand-Duché | Duolingo | Cedevita | | Copenhagen-Malmo TTT | Minions | Project: Africa | | East Midlands Cicle Classic | Podium Ambition | Eurosport x GCN | | Fleche Wallone | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | Project: Africa | | GP Liechtenstein | Jura - Fiat | Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff | | GP Moscow | Podium Ambition | Cedevita | | Rund um Koln | Minions | Duolingo | | Strada Appia Antica | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | Eurosport x GCN |
Clashes obviously still apply, but some interesting possibilities here such as:
- Beltran in LBL?
- Ewan in MSR?
- Pluchkin, Guldhammer, Denifl, Meintjes for another GT? Bernal with a first proper GT?
- Hagen and Ponzi back in PT events? Lombardia for later could be a late career highlight.
- Spengler and Trentin in the Ronde challenging the PT riders?
- Blythe repeating his Paris Roubaix success? |

Nice, exactly the same as last year for myself Shame they don't score points as they were some of our best races.
Shame the Vuelta couldn't be filled, but i guess with PTHC there isn't the need to ride for XP as much.

I always hope to get more races, but I guess there was quite a lot of interest in wildcards this year.

Wow, really thrilled to be riding our first GT this season! Originally it was meant to be helpful for development (and it will be helpful for Sulvaran), although unfortunately we ended up not having room for our main Lvl. 4 target. Instead, we will be taking advantage of our one year with a maxed, bonafide, GC Dane in Guldhammer. Representing our team and our home region. Back at Ronde too, and a debut in several other PT races. So excited to have this chance!
Tried to make sure I worked my priorities around clashes, so we should be able to send our A lineup to most of these races, which makes it even better. Well worth the money, and we hope to make the most of this opportunity!
Thank you MGUCI!

As his manager I was hoping this would be the case even without wildcards |

Egan Bernal is ready to fight for Maglia bianca at Giro!
Getting 3 more wildcards is a nice bonus, especially the one in my homeland

A dream comes true - we will ride Tour de Suisse (top prio obviously ^^)
The unlucky clash with East Java however likely means we won't send our top line-up But we'll still have plenty of fun I'm sure
GP Cyclistes (P5) will be a great warm-up for the final race of the year, while the sprinters will show their legs in Qatar (P7) already A bit unhappy to miss out on both T-A (P2) and P-N (P4), but with no clashing PCT races the competition obviously was tough for these spots. Definitely happy with the stage races we got
We also got GP Liechtenstein (P3), which we're really happy with. And obviously nobody really wanted Herbiers, so we got it (at the very bottom of our prio list)
Once I loaned out Mäder, I decided to not go for GT/Monument wildcards; will probably do when we really want to max out a rider on our own.
Thanks a lot for the WCs @MGUCI, and have fun with those PT races to my fellow PCT teams

Yes! Happy to get those wildcards. Africa is going to the Tour! Might focus the team on being more Afro-centric than result centric.
Let’s see what damage I can cause with Bobridge in the other races

Yay, Bernal and Padun getting GTs…
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."
