Boev and Kupfernagel was on my list below Redecker, sad to see them going unpicked, even if better for me from a competitive stand point.

Went for Hasnaoui as I felt I needed an all round domestique who can rack up RDs in different terrains.
Cardona hits about 76/77 TT so a solid TT rider and should be able to get him to Level 3 pretty easily this season. Also has plenty of RD which I may need. And I can’t shy away from talents
I saw the likes of Kupfernagel but I’m already full of sprinters and riders for the flat. There were a lot of decent sprinters available and they still are!

I'm not saying that everyone should have gone after kupfernagel or Boev, but whoever went after sprinters to choose Ciolek or drapac over one of these two doesn't make any sense

I had Kupfernagel on the list, but could not say no to picking up Avelino when he was sitting right there and the brining back a Norwegian with good domestique stats.

Tivani, Geniez and Barbero were the ones I had on my list if I was to build a CT team out of the FAs post-transfers, but definitely some riders I was surprised not to see picked up there! |

I feel like the last pick of the draft was just to make Pooh Bear happy, I wonder what kind of training Cristofer Robin has been doing in the 100 acre wood.

I like Polestar picks, they're pretty dang good depth pieces. I don't know if they have a sprinter, but if they do, thats pretty good draft for them

Are amateurs back? I thought they weren't and the calendar constrictions and additional PCT C2 days were making up for it.

First two choices (Sort of). Trying to hit a balance between helping the team this year and potential pieces for the future. Seigel gives me one rider to support Boswell and can be leveled up to a pretty nice 72 mt/77 hil next year and then give us an option in 2023.
I submitted a 2nd list and so my 2nd pick shouldn't be Tivani but Eisenhart. But Tivani is the one guy I would take over Eisenhart and I almost changed my list to make it like that. So unless I took Tivani away from someone else happy to stick with him.
Went away from US riders for the first time, riders I would have picked would all have got to 4.0 lvl but I already have a challenge with PT loans next year so wasn't worth it.
As an aside - I think the PT loan requirement to max riders with lower OVLs (<72ish) is a large and unnecessary bummer for CT teams.

I asked Roturn earlier and he said no amateurs.

Think this is true and it seems reasonable that if the bar is low enough, with 72 OVL being a good example, it would not really be prone to abuse. Probably is what metric to go by. Hard to use OVL when maxed because the formulas for that change every year.

That's a change for once, I had the first pick of the draft. It doesn't happen to me very often.
Carlos Barbero was my main target. He can help in the hills and my team lacked a fighter and he fits that bill. Cristofer Jurado is part of the region focus and more of an experiment than anything else. At 0 wage though it is worth trying it.
Fabianski wrote:
Is Jurado the only Pot 1 guy with a contract in the entire peloton? Base stats look nice, but he just can't get anywhere I fear... ^^
Actually, I have another pot 1 in my team, Erick Herrera. I believe this is Jurado's last chance to prove what he's capable of. I'll have to wait and see how this turns out.

When not feeling depressed together with Eeyore he chased around Tigger.. |

Really happy to get both of my first picks. Gillett will be a huge asset to the TTT and mountains squad! Orue will lead out cobbles squad. I know his acceleration isn't exactly top notch but we are taking the risk on him. Hopefully it pays off!

OK, my bad then. I remember that at some time it was briefly discussed in the Skype group, and it seemed like there would be a few of them. I can live well without those point-stealing teams, but Kupfernagel et al. surely would have preferred they'd exist to get a last hurray ^^

Can't complain when I get my first 2 choices. Meyer's combination of sprint and prologue suits Glanbia. I picked Murphy as no 2 our of a sense of duty really. I added him into the game so didn't want to see him go to waste.
Has Sebright as no 3, who I released, and was secretly hoping I'd end up with him

Quite interesting picks. I would have gone for other riders myself. Some very interesting riders in the bunch not getting a contract (Unless I missed it during the last couple of day where I didn't have time to get online):
Kirill Pozdnyakov
Walter Trillini
Jani Tewelde
Rory Townsend
Martin Reimer (My top pick)
Matala Seboka
Jakub Kratochvila
Kashyapa Siriwardena
A long with some very nice talents like Thomas Champion, Gordian Banzer, Sergio Samitier, Aurelien Paret-Peintre, Chaloemphon Klahan, Maxime Chevalier, Alexey Voloshin, Matis Louvel, Clement Carisey, Anastasios Koumpetsos, Franc Bonnamour, Tilen Finkst, Marco Mathis, Ivan Savitskiy and likely a bunch of others I missed
Congrats to everyone getting "top" picks. And thanks for a good transfers!

Damn I think you could build a decent mid-table team with all the unpicked riders if you had 15 roster spots.

Missed the Draft live, but as a morning catch up, that was great. Some interesting picks, some very interesting non-picks and as always... the #SuttyStobartRetirementHome keeps on going. He does love his aging riders!
