The games have come thick and past over the past couple of weeks, with three games at the same time.
So, first of all, congratulations to ember for winning the Tour of Poland game, ahead of Banesi and Kalach.
Secondly, congratulation to LaChouffe for winning the Volta a Portugal game, ahead of Strydz and Banesi.
Finally, congratulations to FreitasPCM for winning the Ladies Tour of Norway, ahead of Banesi and DarkWolf. That’s FreitasPCM’s second win in the Ladies game, after the Giro Donne.
In the Leaderboards, in the Men’s game, FreitasPCM is still the leader with 300 points and has opened a bit of a gap now with Wyman in second with 269 and Peadar O’Murchu who drops to third on 262 points after unfortunately not submitting a team for the Volta a Portugal. Then it’s still fairly tight in the Europa League places. With the Vuelta and ongoing Classics game and I imagine the BinckBank Tour game still to come, there is still the possibility of a classic title race.
In the Women’s game, FreitasPCM still leads after his second win in two, ahead of DarkWolf, so FreitasPCM still leads both games. Then it’s very tight, with 8 players within 7 points. I believe there is one more Women’s game, along with the continued Classics game, so there is an interesting contest ahead. |

Crazy to have won the Ladies Tour of Norway after losing Anna Henderson and Marta Cavalli right in the second day. Very tight competition.
Congratulations to all winners of the other games and good luck for the remainder of the season. |

Winning Portugal just about makes up for all my last place finishes this year. It's been a lean 2021.

Congratulations to df_Trek for winning the Simac Ladies Tour game. Unfortunately, due to the very tight amount of time in order to enter teams, there were only 5 players.
So, in the women’s game leaderboard, FreitasPCM is still in the lead, with DarkWolf second and df_Trek third.
There are plenty of games at the moment, with the return of the classics games (men and women), so keep an eye on the calendar of races.
I also just saw that the Tour of Britain game has been added, which starts on Sunday. |

First and formost CONGRAT to the many winners the last couple of weeks.
Sad only to see a clear demise of this once proud and frequently attended league. Heck, we had players often among the top 10 in overall in Georges VG, but now some races have only a handful of teams entered.
So many races the last month and on the same time have of course made it difficult for us all to even get a team selected.
Lets hope a new season 2022 will bring some new life to this league, so the challenge of winning races and do good in the overall stats will increase.
gargatouf doing good picking up the reins, but our fine league are just limping forward at the present.
I hope we can set our eyes on next season and that gargatouf still got the fire to direct and organize the stats. I understand if the motivation might drop with the smaller amount of folks making selections but I do hope we can go on.
The joy of winning races with scores of teams entered is so much more fun than when it's down to just 5 as mentioned in Ladies Tour Vuelta.
Lets try and pick it up, at least for Gargatouf who is trying hard to keep Ringos legacy going.

missed last update, ranking looks much better now, unfortunately I had a really poor mid season until TdF.
Thanks Gargatouf for your efforts, as clamel said, I really hope this will get new lymph for next season.
have to say I struggled too to get teams in time in this crowded period of races.

Started off the Vuelta with some great surprises thanks to having Taaramae, Caruso, and Bardet. Unfortunately all my GC guys besides Roglic fell out, and Storer and Haig took precedence for their teams later.

The games keep coming and here are the latest results.
First of all, congratulations to df_Trek for winning the Vuelta a Espana game, ahead of Laco11 and Peadar O’Murchu. It was a very convincing win from df_Trek, almost 1,000 points ahead of second position. Having 5 of the top 10 highest scoring riders certainly helped.
Secondly, congratulations to Wyman for winning the Benelux Tour game, ahead of Clamel and DaveTwoBob.
Finally, congratulations to df_Trek once again for winning the Ceratizit Challenge game, ahead of FreitasPCM and DarkWolf. Df_Trek can’t be stopped now!!! After not winning any races until this year, he now has 4. Is he a contender for next season?
In the Women leaderboard, no changes, due to the small amount of players for the last couple of games, FreitasPCM still leads, ahead of DarkWolf and df_Trek. Ember, who entered a team for the Ceratizit Challenge game gains a few positions.
In the Men leaderboard, there are some changes at the top. Thanks to his win in the Vuelta a Espana game, and therefore scoring a massive 50 points, df_trek climbs on the podium, ahead of Wyman. FreitasPCM still leads, while Peadar O’Murchu also climbs over Wyman to take second place. With only the Tour of Britain and the Superclasico game left (I believe!!), there are not many opportunities left to change things in the table. |

I think it's been hard over the past month or so, there has been so many games (around 6 different ones on top of the men and women Clasico games). Also, I don't know about everyone else, but especially the last couple of Women games seem to have come out of nowhere with 24 hours or so to prepare (which has shown with only 5 and 6 players that participated. There was double for the Norway Tour and Giro Donne). Obviously, I know George at Velogames is reliant on the startlist, so if they are not public until a few days before, it's very hard for him to organise it in time.
Maybe next year, we can only count games that have been on for a certain amount of days before they start or for certain races (and not all of them) to avoid small numbers. |

Congrats to all winners, and especially df_trek! Spot on team for the Vuelta, despite Lucas Hamilton having been on a tourism break rather than competing.
George wrote on Twitter he’s thinking of launching an Italian Autumn classics game. Should be live next week with the Giro della Toscana, if I’m not mistaken, if he does go ahead with the idea. However, I’m worried it will be a stacked race calendar, difficult to keep up with the pace.
Overall, let’s see if we have a solid player base for next year, but I agree that we might need some arrangements in races with less than 10 (or 6 ) players. |

thanks guys! I thought that Roglic, Jakobsen and Matthews were quite a safe call, moreover I was surprised to see Fabio this low at 10. I decided to go with the most expensive Ineos rider that allowed me to take the cheapest riders between climbers (I was confident in Mader joining breaks and taking some points, very lucky here).
Bingo choice with Storer supporting my 21 and done team (but I saw also bis impressive performance at Tour de l'Ain).
in the end I took Cort because he gifted me the TdF win earlier this season, now he is my talisman
it's a pity I'm so late for a title call.
Congratulations to the other winners, and thanks Gargatouf for the updates!

I would like to add my thanks to Gargatouf for running the league.
Congrats to all the winners. I am having my best run ever this year, 20 years of trying paying off.
I have missed a few races this year including Tour of Britain, need a better method to find the competition is open to get a team submitted. Any suggestions?
I will keep selecting my random 8 riders next year and hope Gargatouf has the motivation to keep the league going.

Thanks for the messages, it’s much appreciated. More than happy to continue again next year, but yeah I think some changes are needed. Even though the races from the first part of the year were quite well attended, it has definitely been different over the last month or two. Must be a mix of the huge number of games over a short period of time and also probably some players that missed a few games at the start and then realise they don’t have a chance of winning the competition.
Obviously, I’m open to ideas, but thinking at the start of next year, I’ll post a calendar of the “official” games for the competition and they’ll form the main competition, maybe the WT races plus the Clasico games, that should hopefully help with the overcrowding of races at some points of the season. Other races like Tour of Portugal or Britain can be additional games for another competition. Will have to see about the Women races, but I’m guessing Giro Donne and the new TDF Ladies play the Clasico games. If there made any more games that come out with enough time to get a team going then it can be added.
Also, I can try and put reminders on the forum a week or so before the official start of races to remind people that a game will start, if that can help?? |

I do like the idea of a number of categories to compete in but wouldn't want it to cause too much work.
George does a supporters special Triple Crown which is the total for all 3 Grand Tours. I think this works quite well. Not suggesting we copy this, just commenting on my experience of having an extra category to compete in.
Agree that a World Tour & Classics category might keep interest going to the end of the season.
Would players want an Overall category as well to reward the people who take the time to enter all the races, persistence could win over perception!
Perhaps gargatouf could comment on the experience/effort of running Mens and Womens categories in terms of extra work for even more categories.

The admin is actually OK, time wise. I found my way of doing it and I know the basics on Excel to add scores etc... so it doesn't take me too long to sort it all out. Obviously, the smaller the amount of teams, the less time it takes!
I'm not going to create too many different categories, as it would be confusing for everyone, but if we limit it to WT races first, we can see how it goes and then re-opening it to every races the year after. So we would have 3 different categories
- WT Races and Classics games
- Other Men games (Portugal, Britain etc...)
- Womens races (will have to see about calendar as well. If the Simac Tour and Norway Tour come out 24 hrs or so before the start of the race, I will probably not include them in the leaderboard as it's too difficult to create a team or you don't even realise there is one until it's too late.
Once again, I'm opened to any ideas that people have. |

Congratulations to Wyman for winning the Tour of Britain game, ahead of Clamel and FreitasPCM. I believe this is the penultimate game of the season, with the SuperClasico still going. As a result of the Tour of Britain result, there are some more changes in the podium places. FreitasPCM is still top and will most likely win the league now. He is also top of the SuperClasico with a handful of races to go and a healthy lead in that game. However, behind him, it's all changes again, with Wyman climbing into second place, with df_Trek in third. As he did not enter a team, Peadar O'Murchu drops to fourth. But there is only 10 points between them, so there is something to play with the last game. |

Congratulation to erm...me for winning the Women Classics game, ahead of FreitasPCM and df_Trek. In the end it's a fairly comfortable win, with some good choices all year long really. Shame I couldn't back it up in the stage races, but hey... I'll give it a good go again next year.
In the women's leaderboard, FreitasPCM is still top, ahead of DarkWolf and df_Trek. I am now fourth, and have an outside chance of the podium.
I have noticed that the Women Tour of Britain game is up and it starts tomorrow, so try and enter your team if you can. It'll be good to have as many team as possible for the last game of the season. |

Also, there are races every day next week, except Friday for the last few rounds of the Superclasico with all the pre Lombardia Italian races, culminating with Il Lombardia on Saturday and Paris-Tours on Sunday, so keep an eye on those changes |

So the season came to an end. It has been up and down for all of us this year, but BIG CONGRAT to the winners Total and stage/race winners.
Big thanks to gargatouf that kept this game floating just above the surface.
Now something has to be done for next year to fire us all up again. Not know what but I'm sure clevel minds will come up with suggestions, so we can keep going.
Have a nice off-season everyone.
See you back in 2022 (Sadly not already for Down Under, but a bit later I guess)

Sorry about the delay, but here are the results for the last couple of games.
In what is a confirmation of his dominance this year, Congratulations to FreitasPCM for winning the Women Tour of Britain ahead of Gargatouf and DarkWolf. My choice of replacing Demi Vollering by Longo Borghini probably cost me first place!!
As a result, FreitasPCM wins the Women overall classification ahead of DarkWolf and df_Trek.
In the SuperClasico game, it's another win for FreitasPCM, a comfortable one as well. He wins ahead of Gargatouf and Kalach. With double points for this game, FreitasPCM extends his lead and also wins the overall Men Classification as well, ahead of Wyman and df_Trek
Thanks to everyone who participated this year and see you next year |
