Welcome to the 7th edition of the Rheden GP. This race gained considerable recognition with some of the best cobblers achieving victory here. The startlist includes former winners Sam Bewley and Joeri Stallaert. At 185 km this is what we could call an average classic in terms of length. The cobbles aren't overly difficult and neither are the hills. In fact it's quite often we see a sprint finish.
With that said let's look at some of the other favourites:
| FLA | HIL | STA | RES | COB | SPR | ACC | Bewley | 77 | 70 | 77 | 75 | 82 | 82 | 82 | Wisniowski | 80 | 71 | 75 | 76 | 83 | 73 | 76 |
If does come down to a sprint, then there is no better candidate for the win then Bewley. The Kiwi is still ridiculously in every aspect and is rightfully #1 on the list. Wisniowski on the other hand is slightly better in pretty much every aspect besides sprinting and is in a pretty enviable position when it comes to tactics at his disposal.
| FLA | HIL | STA | RES | COB | SPR | ACC | Pedersen | 77 | 69 | 78 | 80 | 79 | 78 | 77 | Stallaert | 77 | 67 | 76 | 68 | 81 | 79 | 76 | Per | 79 | 70 | 74 | 75 | 79 | 74 | 74 | Senechal | 75 | 67 | 79 | 74 | 82 | 69 | 74 |
And those tactics are possible because of the next rider. Pedersen has the sprinting that the Pole lacks, which gives Grieg two strong cards to play. Stallaert is the other former winner we mentioned and although he is not as strong overall, his sprinting doesn't leave much to be desired. Per can sprint a bit, but his strenghts are elsewhere. Will he bet on his sprint and hope he finishes in the top 5? Or will he try a more daring move? Similar with Senechal who is an even worse sprinter.
| FLA | HIL | STA | RES | COB | SPR | ACC | Kuroeda | 74 | 63 | 72 | 73 | 77 | 74 | 78 | Breen | 77 | 70 | 72 | 72 | 78 | 73 | 72 | Spengler | 74 | 65 | 72 | 73 | 83 | 61 | 70 | Kamyshev | 77 | 65 | 81 | 75 | 82 | 66 | 60 | Ringheim | 72 | 67 | 75 | 71 | 78 | 73 | 75 | Zepuntke | 72 | 69 | 79 | 72 | 81 | 72 | 65 | Kuroeda | 72 | 70 | 76 | 77 | 75 | 76 | 73 | Zhupa | 75 | 67 | 78 | 74 | 77 | 74 | 68 | Bohli | 74 | 68 | 79 | 75 | 77 | 74 | 68 | Polanc | 72 | 73 | 78 | 73 | 78 | 67 | 75 | Manakov | 77 | 58 | 77 | 68 | 75 | 72 | 76 | Lindeman | 73 | 64 | 72 | 69 | 76 | 74 | 76 |
Kuroeda is not the best of cobblers, but he has a decent sprint on him. Or will he work for an even better sprinter, his brother? Breen is a very good allrounder that can do a bit of everything. Spengler and Kamyshev are pure cobblers that can't really sprint, so they would need to go long and they are more than capable. Ringheim is a very good rider to be Grieg's 3rd option. Zepuntke lacks acceleration to go with his sprint, as do Zhupa and Bohli. Polanc would need to get a chance to go long or simply look after his leader.

Looking forward to this, hopefully GVK can snatch a miraculous top 10 for some much needed points.

Last chance for a win in the rainbow for Wisniowski. We've often seen a somewhat big group here and I wouldn't be suprised if we get a group of 20+ riders together going into the last sector of cobbles. Hopefully we'll have a couple of riders in the front of the race and can challenge for the win.

The split with Battenkill leaves us only hoping for a breakaway showing and maybe a Top20 with some luck.

Cool to see Halvorssen take a big win here. Huge for Volvo and Viking likely going with a happy end here.
For Aker and myself it's obviously just the clarification that it's one of us, which is not good. |

GVK gets caught and ends 80th, meanwhile Kumara at least finishes in a points scoring position. And I think this is the final nail in the coffin for us, with only Lithuania, Milano, Lugano and Japan Cup left I don't see us collecting 250+ points to stave off relegation. Should be an alright renewals season tho.
Nice win for Halvorsen here and massive result for Campari with a second place here.

Damn this could've been a major step io the title if we would've caught the break. Still an awesome performance by Per and Polanc and great coverage by the reporter.

What a couple of races by Domenic Weinstein!
He really took the motivation from finishing in the Top25 over at ToNE and held on admirably well here to add an important bunch of points on top of that.
There's no reason to be sad over getting dropped just early enough to lose the podium, as being the third best finisher from such a big group is a major achievement.
And with Bewley being denied the win by the other two survivors, I am quite confident that this should all but seal our third overall spot!
This was a race that could've swung 200 points into Moser's direction, and it didn't end up anywhere close to that.
Of course I can't help but single out Declerq's streak of underperformances this season one last time, while Cavagna also failed to make an impact, but that's absolutely fine with me.
And I'll add my congratulations to Viking for going out in style!

Congrats to Volvo, thanks redordead for the report!
Two riders in the points is good enough. Perhaps Lindeman could have been better from the break, but the season is pretty much done for me already.

Wow, what a race for Volvo! That's certainly them safe for relegation, one would imagine. Attacking race by Wisniowski, but not the result we wanted in the end and also the depth scoring a bit off. Pity to the end the season with zero wins in the rainbow jersey!

Wow, what the heck what a result from Halvorsen!
Feels like the team have been really good since I informed about our shutdown. I guess the riders want to show all other teams that they are worth a big paycheck |

Zhupa still pointless but at least Park managed to get a few points after being in the break.
Nice report redordead.

Great race from Sarreau. Secures some minor points for us, which is very welcome. Breen active in the final too, and on the verge of a top 10 in the end. Good race from him as well.
Thanks for the report, and congrats to viking! Nice win for Halvorsen.

Congratulations, viking! Brilliant win by Halvorsen, being super strong in that breakaway group. Also Stallaert delivering behind. I'd say you need to reconsider your decision to leave the game
Thank you for the report, redordead. That was very entertaining, and also exciting, as the battle for the remaining breakaway riders looked like a lost case up until the favourites couldn't find the needed co-operation.

Agree. And I already fear how this will look after Maroc, which should be a huge scoring race for you, as I assume Olivier is racing there. |
