And this is why we have a Sky hate thread.

This is probably the best ever Martinez today. |

Really hope Caruso can hold on, would be a well-deserved win.

Now look at him drop anonymously in performance until the next Grand Tour where his climbing abilities are required.

Deserved win.
Caruso and Bardet first made the race very interesting today, even though it was quick to see, that the gap is not really opening enough. At least they tried.
And more important this all led to quite significant gaps behind shuffling the top10 a bit with a TT yet to come.
Good final mountain stage. |

Caruso wow what a ride and determination. It reminded me Cadel Evans at TDF 2011 chasing Andy Schleck.
I am glad that Caruso won
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Indeed...really a shame when exciting riders leave their team and partially leadership for being part of a mountain train only... |

Caruso mighty impressive. Really happy for him, deserved win.
We should start playing a game of "try to guess which INEOS rider will suddenly become a beast in the third week". It hurts - PHYSICALLY - to see this show and the power meters. Bernal deserved the Giro win, but his last few days, he should thank MartÃnez and Castroviejo for holding him against the attacks.
Very good performance by Almeida in altitude today |

Glad Caruso gets the win and both he and Bardet benefit overall from the long range move. Saved what would have just been standard Skyneos domination.
Edit: Remember when Castroviejo was a pure time trialist already in his 30's before joining Sky? They just never have to worry. Buy the best climbers, if they fail or aren't in the race, anyone can become a climber when needed.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Yeah, I was excited to see him and Higuita progress at EF. I had Martinez as a dark horse for the Vuelta last year after his Dauphine win.
Hopefully he can atleast get some opportunities in a year or two, when some of the riders ahead of him in the hierarchy start to decline/leave like Porte.
Also, just noticed Cameron Wurf rides for INEOS. WTF? PCS says before last season, he hadn't ridden since 2014. What a random signing.

It would be interesting to see someone like WVA at INEOS. I wonder if he would lose a single race all year with INEOS.
Edit: And by interesting, I mean not interesting at all

Castroviejo has been a serviceable climber and great domestique as early as his Euskaltel days...

he will probably slam Freddy Maertens record of stage wins in a single GT

I guess they already have Pidcock, but WVA is a bit more of a proven quantity at this point (and probably more expensive).
Didnt WVA almost join INEOS last year too?

Happy for Caruso, pure class how he won that stage and that clap on the back of Bilbao shows his spirit even more. He could have hid and followed wheels of Yates but instead he went out and took the stage win... This is cycling.
Surely he will keep 2nd tomorrow, perfect day for him and good for Bahrain how they got back after Landa crashed (if only...)

Well, Jumbo made Bouwman into a top 12 rider at Il Giro, so I don't know how much more Ineos would be able to improve Van Aert
