Pffff that's very low placing for what i'd hope. 12 seconds isn't really bad, but didn't expect at all to be 6th in this TTT

Compared to the TDF, we didn't really lose as much time as I feared when adjusting for the comparative strength of the two sides. Only being 31 seconds down gives me hope that we could potentially be in the top 3 after the TT as I hope the second stage won't be hard enough for large time gaps at all. But I could be wrong with that.
Have to say Gesink looks good for the overall but let's see this all pan out.

Well, that ended up being way more selective than I thought, and a poor showing from Gallopin in any case. Looks like we'll need to hope for breakaway success, but the remaining stages aren't really looking all too breakaway friendly. Fear we'll be looking at minimum points here, which is not what we need right now

A very good stage for Lopez. Lots of gaps particularly due to our own aggression which already helped him climb up to 12th on the day. Not getting significant stage points on the day is not ideal but Lopez should be the best rider in the pack for the significantly tougher final day unlike today where the HI stat is too deciding.
Many TTists will overtake Lopez again in the TT so we need another day with big gaps on the final day. But now its Liepins time ...

Not the greatest stage, but I guess could've been worse. Siskevicius has been very weak this year, but hopefully he can somehow climb up to top 20 even with long TT. Still far away from 100 points, but I expect Jallays and Zamri to climb a little bit

I'd rather it had been Haga in the front group than Selander, also judging by the way the former stormed up the final hill and the latter imploded. Nevertheless, Haga is in the top ten and should hopefully remain there with the TT and final hill stage.

This was much more selective than we hoped it could be. There goes our lead. Great aggressive stage from Bobridge. Congrats tsmoha!

As the others say, that was surprisingly selective. Think it's cool to see good hybrids like Oliveira and Goncalves near the front, kind of showing the team tactics. That being said, a tough stage for some of the second tier puncheurs here, who wasn't able to follow and loses times to better TT riders.
Should be a very interesting GC fight, but Bobridge certainly in a very good position now. Congrats on the win, tsmoha!

A shame Lutsenko bonked at the end after following the right move. Looking at the rest of the team this was a good stage though. Brändle didn't lose much and Gidich also came back after being dropped initially. However, I feel like he could also have finished with the bigger first favorite group. But great to see also Mano and Teklehaimanot not far behind!
Congrats tsmoha! |

Total disaster. Not even Dunbar could stay near the front of the bunch here...
Let's get that ITT stage win, otherwise this race is a complete waste

2nd place means okay points scored. Still many dangerous TT riders ahead in the GC, so I doubt Kinoshita will place that highly, but strong stage results from here will be needed then.

Was rooting for Kalaba there in the end, but I guess I can get behind a Dzama led victory for Evonik

Terrific sprint preparation, Tvetcov and Dzamastagic did a great job and carried Liepins deep into the final km. Great to see that this part of my planning gamble paid off at least
Spoiler Really dont understand why Lopez even had to take a single turn at the front, thats pretty stupid by the AI. Once again no time gaps given at the end when the gaps during the sprint preparation were clearly visible, I'm sick of it...
Time for the TT. Cant remember what sort of time loss i calculated as realistic but we need a good stage by Lopez. He could be one of the main benefittors of the small bumps along the way and i hope that he will still be in a solid position to attack on the final day.

I'd take third under normal circumstances, but how has Lutsenko managed to beat Kalaba?
Thanks for the report, and congrats Evonik!

Good to see Evonik winning (despite the rankings rivalry) and happy with Dusan on the podium

I'm also very confused
Obviously happy with the result, just wish Lutsenko would've had such great daily form yesterday or in the tt. |
