I bet on Martinez I thought he might be a dark horse on the climbs and realistically be decent on TTs if Roglic and Dumoulin are both not in form. But Roglic is in form and Martinez is not

Iirc during the Tour they said Dumoulin would lead the Vuelta.
Then roglic lost it in the end and as the stronger rider in general seems to have been their obvious Vuelta leader. Post stage 1 anyway.
Not sure right now but the move by Dumoulin so far seems to be a bad one for him personally as with Sunweb he was the clear leader and seeing their TdF/Giro performances, he would have had huge support behind him. |

I thought so, too.  Especially since the new rule seems to be you have to be under 25 to win a GT.
