Hey guys, you still here?
So with Czech Republic in COVID hiatus as almost everyone else worldwide (actually many of the restrictions was made here for the first time and lot od countries followed) i have more time for passive cycling again. At least something good in this madness and fuck up...i am switching between home office, parental care and actual work at my work place, uni is shut down, but still we are having some online lessons.
So i have installed PCM 2019 again and started a stage racer "pro cyclist" career with french guy...three GT podiums being 24 years old now, riding for Jumbo-Visma. I have reached last stat update yesterday right before my second career TDF, now with 85 MO, 80 HILL and 78TT i hope i am ready to dethrone Bernal, who is winning GTs left and right for last three years in my save, still with INEOS....he is 85 mountain too, 79 hill, but 73TT so i should be able to gain some time there and in upcoming TTT. He has 84 in recovery though compared to my 76 and maintain a brutal 82 ACC.
And i also started watching replays of recent real GTs mainly TDF where czech TV has all the stages in complete stopage at their site for free starting with 2010 Tour. That is quite a fun but i have reached 2013 Tour now and oh boy, it still hurts to see the monster rising and how much all the teams have f*cked up against at that point vulnerable SKY in stage 9 to Bagnères-de-Bigorre, where Froome got isolated after that mad start to the stage. Movistar, what U doing? You remember that guys?
So...just stopped by to greet all of you guys, i still see some good old names popping up at the first page, i also see that MG is running? Have fun guys and foremost, stay strong, safe and healthy, same for your families....also stay optimistic, we will all manage and rebuild.
Good to hear from you Avin!
A big problem with this quarantine is that it is piquing my interest in this like cycling again, precisely at a time when all the racing is cancelled.

Nice to see you again Avin! I know lots of people have almost "too much" free time atm, but I have lots of University projects left, and exams which have moved to online exams coming up still so its quite a stressful time for me Once I have time off though, Im planning on watching old F1 and cycling. I really want to try the 2010 db for PCM19 thats out rn, but I'd first have to buy PCM19 so I may see if I can convert it to 18 if its not too once I've got time.

Yeah, uni has only been made more difficult by this. It's very difficult to do research papers at home without my university library. A lot harder than I thought. Luckily I have few exams due to my majors, cause that system is more than a headache.
If you do convert that DB to PCM 18, please share! I just recently got access to the game again, and it'd be great to dive into. Reminds me of when I tried to create a 2009 DB...

My writing journey has official come full circle.
After developing my writing passion here and writing about Pro Cycling Manager results, I got to write a game recap off on a video game simulation for my IRL newspaper job. Our local hockey team is a part of a virtual playoff simulation that the league is running since they can't compete for real because of COVID-19.
All my years of story writing here has prepared me for this moment.

Well, seems I barely had to do any work. PCM 19 cdbs seem to work with PCM 18 I found a version of the 2010 db that wasnt on steam and copied that to my PCM 18 mod folder, then moved minijerseys froms Documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2018\Mod\DB 2010\MiniJersey\team to just Documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2018\Mod\DB 2010\MiniJersey\ and it works.

At least being a WWE fan, there is still fresh new content coming out every week.
Florida deemed WWE as an essential business, likely due to the close-knit relationship between Vince McMahon and President Trump. McMahon is also on an important advisory board that will help jump start the USA economy back soon.
As far as me, still quarantined until May 8th at the earliest. Only 2 people in my town (zip code) have COVID-19 to date but you can't go anywhere in public without a mask on.
I am fortunate to still be working full time from home. I did not get laid off but ironically enough due to the assistance coming out right now I am making less money working than I would be not working

Unfortunately being in close proximity to NYC has not given me such luck numbers wise. 80 known Covid cases in my town and 2 deaths thus far. And other towns in my county have gotten hit much worse.
I haven't left my house for more than a few minutes for over a month.

Weird business going down in Florida but really what I wouldn't do to have any kind of road cycling live these days
As for me I can't complain as Portugal has been able to contain very well, specially as it's surounded by a disaster-struck Spain, Porto area has been hit the most and my city currently has 1060 cases and is bound to become the most affected city in the country, there's no info on how many people infected by town so fear is spread everywhere really, but again the country thankfully is under control and with a steady line. I've only left the house twice in the last like 5 weeks though and one was in need of a hospital.
With this hope ya'll are safe, I know some active members are in affected regions so I send my best wishes, and everyone stay safe

Haven't been out of the house for one and a half month. Also, online education (university) sucks.

Same here, on both accounts. I literally have only gone outside my house to take out the garbage since the middle of March. I tried to go for a bike ride a week or two ago, but it's been unseasonably cold (and rainy) here. It was like 4 degrees Celsius and really windy. Once I got up to speed I was just too cold. After like ten minutes I gave up and I haven't tried since. I might try this weekend if I can find the time with exams, as the weather is supposed to be a bit better.
And yeah, online education sucks. Mu uni has been increasingly accommodating, but it still hasn't been fun. Glad to be done with the semester at the end of next week.

Hello PCMDaily folk, not sure if this is the right thread but I didn't want to start a new thread. So, I'm thinking about purchasing a bike this summer and was wondering if anybody has any advice or suggestions for me.
Some notes about me.
I live in North Dakota (but would eventually like to move and find a new job soon, and hopefully somewhere warmer) so I can feasible only ride outside for 5-7 months out of the year. Therefore I'm also considering an indoor trainer as well like Zwift (suggestions here would be helpful as well). My apartment is also up three flights of stairs so something on the lighter side would me nice.
I used to have a decent (nothing fancy) all-around bike before I moved out here four years ago. I didn't have room to bring it with me. So, it's been a while since I've rode. I'm leaning more toward another all-round bike but a road bike does peak my interest as well.
Keeping the cost under say $3,000 would be ideal but I could spend more.
Also, if it makes a difference, I'm 6-foot-7 so something that is comfortable to ride for a giant like myself is a major priority.

I would say Trek Domane SL 5, it's a bit below 3.000$, and a friend of mine has it, it's very confortable also on rough roads, and very good for long distance, pros use it for PR and hard cobbled races, (obviously the most expensive version). This is not a gravel one, but remain quite fast on roads. And c'mon it's a Trek, I barely consider something else

Thanks for the tip. However, I can't find any Trek Domane SL 5 with a big enough frame that are in-stock at the moment.
I've got in contact with my local bike shop and they also don't have any road bikes under $3,000 that are my size (curses of being too tall). I'm heading into the shop tomorrow to hear their sales pitch on some of their more expensive road bikes and what they do have in-stock on gravel bikes. I think a gravel bike might be my best option at this point.

I'm not sure you're being entirely honest with us, Mr. E. For a start, nobody moves to North Dakota., that must be a fib. Also, I don't believe there are any appartment buildings with 4 floors up there. And nobody spends $3000 on a bicycle, in general and certainly not when you can get a perfectly good snowmobile for that kind of money.
My credentials: I've watched Fargo (movie AND tv series)

When I got my road bike a couple of years back, I was able to get a brand new Cannondale (previous year's model though) for like $750 bucks at my local bike shop. Obviously it was the lowest priced model (Caad Optimo), but you should definitely be able to get something useable for well under $3000, I'd think.
I'm no expert though, and I'm a college student, so price was more important to me than most. I was willing to take an aluminum frame and rim brakes, but someone more serious might not. Plus, you're almost an entire foot taller than me, so I don't have your size constraints.
Edit: I should also mention I live very close to Cannondale headquarters, which might explain a slightly lower cost for less shipping and such.

Just got back from the shop. The only thing they could get me right now in my size is a 2021 Specialized Diverge Sport Carbon. Would cost me $2,700 and I'd get discounted prices on other essential accessories (to hopefully keep it under $3,000). If I wanted something cheaper then it would probably be another 3-4 weeks before anything is available.
Any thoughts if that is worth it or if I'd be better off waiting. Again, I live in the middle of nowhere (some people don't even think it's a real place ) and bikes my size are hard to come by. Therefore, that price.

Gotcha. I live in the densely populated Northeast, so while prices for some things are high, there's much less scarcity of "luxury" goods like road bikes.
Really comes down to if you think the increase in quality and 3-4 extra weeks of use is worth the price increase in the long run. For me personally, I'd wait, both because I'm very cheap, and because the weather here has been unseasonably cold. But if you're serious about jumping in right now, and you think the increased quality will benefit you in the long run, you might as well go for it.
Again, I'm really in no position to be giving advice though.
