Decent TT for us. Let's try to keep as many riders in that top 30 as possible.

Arh darn... had really hoped Bongiorno would be allowed to fight for KOM here. Also dropping in GC is really too bad. Great stage for Aegon to get their top 10 though.
Now please do something Kastrantas.

Disappointing to see Haig going for a move with nothing but another loss of two positions.. 12th ain't terrible, but except of one stage win for Balyly we also didn't really had too much success here.. Well, one stage left..

Big fireworks from the top contenders. I've never seen Kritskiy this strong before.
Awesome solo by Olivier. Bad luck that the top 3 battle denied him the win.
I was a bit worried that our climbers would be too tired to survive another monster stage, but they held on admirably.

Indeed that is a pretty epic result to put to his tally... Easily his best ever GT GC result I suspect. Do you know what his 2nd best GC result is from a GT? And has he ever finished higher in a week long GC race at PT level?

Wow Kritskiy, what has gotten into him? Unlucky for Pluchkin, thought we were going to see a huge moment there but it wasn't to be, Taaramae played it well. Huge respect to Pluch though for risking a lot and ultimately losing a spot.
Shame Velits didn't end up in the break, when he and Gilanipoor were going away together I thought I might just have a very special report to read
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

And in his very last year before declining too.
I don't think he's ever finished a GT in the top 10 so far. And his best result is something like a 7th place in Paris-Nice or something like that. I'll have to double check.
Edit: it looks like it was a 10th place at PN. That seems to be his best result in a stage race until this year

Wow, Kritskiy! What a race it has been for him. Nesset very aggressive from the start, so I'll probably have to be happy that he in the end managed to do a decent stage. 18th in GC and 30th for Iturria is a good result for us. Big bummer to see Bertilsson going out of the race, after a very positive performance so far. The expectations for the last stage is therefore quite low, but would be great if we can try something from the break again.

Almost the perfect stage.
First the expected Velits in the break for a bit.
Then the better placed Olivier later on and proving to be the strongest in there and Keinath safe in the field.
Towards the end then the less perfect as the GC riders wanted the final mountain stage catching Olivier again, so no stage win.
But 5th on the day for him moves him into top10! GC goal at the start and could be the 2nd top10 for him this season in GTs.
Keinath in 11th GC surely one overperformer seeing he didn`t do it the breakaway way but really due to consistency. 9th again on todays stage showing this beating stronger riders.
Velits in the end lost a bit unfortunately losing and dropping to 17th but this is absolutely okay as 3rd best of the team.
Team ranking though obviously a loss due to having no answer to Gazelle`s 2 big breakaway gains, where my riders simply lost out. Still giving some bonus points as 2nd as well.
KoM Olivier will drop up some small points as well after today as 5th while Hugenhaben 53th, Koep 69th also take some GC points.
So with only tomorrows stage left, this in total obviously is a successful GT for my team, that said, I was expecting good points from it with 3 strong leaders. But still in especially Keinath was doing better than expected.
Just missing out on a stage win when being in the break 3 times as strongest rider is a bit of a pity, in especially when twice the break also won in the end.
Thanks for the great and consistent coverage Tamiyo! |

Finally a stage not going to the break, Kritskiy really strong. Nice to see Denifl getting back his 5th spot in GC. Now I hope for a strong Guerao showing in the last stage. |

I'd like to dedicate this 13th place in the Vuelta to everyone who told me Cattaneo would be a lot better in PCM18 |

Thought it was about to slip there with Pluchkin up the road, but luckily Taaramae decided to take matters into his own hands, also helped by Kritskiy joining the chase. Pluchkin going all out made it a proper stage among the favourites as well. Just great to see Taarame able to defend, eventhough Kritskiy was the strongest in the sprint
Congratulations on the stage win, Oleg!
Won't take it as the overall win just yet, though, as there's still one more chance to go wrong. We really shouldn't, but you never know |

Of course the goal was to finally win a GT with Tinkoff/Kritskiy, but nonetheless this is still great. What a race by Kritskiy, I think his best performance ever!

Disappointed to see yet another sprint stage go to the breakaway. Only one stage win here for Grosu is a blow.
On the other hand, a breakaway gave Brambilla his best GC result ever, which is quite amazing. Hopefully he'll be just as strong at the Tour.
Congrats for the victory, ember!
Thanks for your efforts, Tamijo and hopefully your health problems won't last for much longer.

Yeah perfect ending to that race.
Thank you for the awesome reports Tamijo! Sadly I do not understand what went wrong. The riders of our team that pulled by far the most on flat days were Kalaba and Per. That just doesn't make sense. Also why pull all day, almost catch the break, just to then suddenly let go with 4 fresh helpers in the peloton.
Kump without a victory where he should have had at least two, more likely 3, and be in a shout for the points classification is just atrocious.
