Strade Bianche isn't officialy cancelled yet, but both EF and Jumbo will not be starting so it'll only be a matter of time now.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

And Michelton Scott goes full retard and is not riding any race the next 3 weeks.
Also rumours it's Gaviria who tested positive on Corona in UAE tour.

In their defence there probably won't be any race in the next 3 weeks.
Also those rumours are clickbaity. There is a Colombian person, no mention whatsoever if staff. There's also said a German whilst there's no German racing in any of the teams still there

Most successful DS of the past decade, leading Sky to 7(?) TdFs. What a track record.
Rest in Peace.

IMO the outbreak could last until even the summer which can cast doubt on both the Giro and Tour

Corona is unstoppable in my opinion, we should just accept that and move on with our lives.

Bad news for the Amstel Gold Race as Corona pushes hard to cancel all events!

Ineos have announced they are also suspending all racing activity until the Volta a Catalunya. Combination of the passing of Nicolas Portal and the ongoing epidemic.
Guess the season is on hold for the next few weeks

Covid-19 will likely stick for a couple more months and then things will resume their natural course. Not sure how everyhting in between will be re-aranged then, but I wouldn't count on the Euro and the Olympics being cancelled.

No, learnings from China show that quarantine works to contain the virus. Since we are lacking other options and the virus is far from being understood or could still mutate, it seems sensible to take precautions, incl cancellation.

Yes, exactly. It is not unstoppable, at least yet. There have been 28 confirmed cases in my country till now and no reported deaths. 3 people have completely recovered and have been released. There are also medicines coming out for it, so the situation is improving, although the highly contagious nature of the virus makes it hard to contain for the moment. Remember, coronavirus is the same strand that causes the flu, just that this is a stronger mutated version. There is a cure for the flu, and eventually one will be found for this too. It has also been shown that the spread slows down in warmer temperatures, so the summer is likely to get things back to normal. Till then, it's better that people take precautions.

Tirreno Adriatico and MSR almost certain to follow shortly. Looks like all cycling races over the next couple of weeks at least will be off.
Wonder when all the Spring Classics will be put into doubt.

It's a shame really. I don't think a lot of spectators would've showed up anyway, so if people were told not to come to the race, I don't think there would have been a problem.
Also look at Germany, 349 cases (reported, the real number will be much higher), 0 deaths. It's really not that bad now that we know what's happening.

Really sucks to have races cancelled like this, not only for short term entertainment, but for history's sake. I guess I understand the precaution, it just sucks. I'm so far away from the epicenters that its hard to comprehend the danger I guess. There have been a bunch of cases cropping up in states near me, but it hasn't really affected daily life around here... yet.
