"Hill stage"

I can't really complain with Warbasse over performing so much, but still, it's getting ridiculous. All the punchers were basically done away with without a fight. Juul-Jensen isn't a guy with a 15-20 differential between hill and mountain. He has 70. 96th on a hill day when he has 70 mountain is pretty insane. I'm the lucky ones who's stage racer eclipsed expectations to make up for it. Others are not so lucky, and there will be no recompense for their loss.

As I said though, Warbasse did amazing to follow that move and get himself in a good GC spot. I hoped his well-roundedness would help us, and it has so far. If JJ was gonna crack, I'm glad it's because the game was helping Warbasse lead. Now how do we stay up there? Some thing tells me it's the mountain which are the biggest threat to him, so we'll see how he fares.

Edit: Oh, and nice for AKA to survive by the skin of his teeth! Hopefully he can make it one more to stage 5.

That's awesome! I have to cherish every time that Amador beats Pluchkin head to head because these events are extremely rare. Thank you for the great race so far cunego.

I don't know what would've happened AI wise, if this was set as a mountain stage, but it was pretty clear with the amount of climbing that lower MO riders would eventually fall away.

It also doesn't help if premium climbers like Pluchkin and Amador decide to push the pace.

Cool, looks like sending Simon Yates here was pointless. To say he has a rough season to this point would be an understatement.

Frustrations aside, seeing Newton go for the KoM competition in California gave me happy flashbacks. Smile

Did try to say we need a fix, havent seen a single manager surporting me.
Can't be surprised anymore.

Good stage Smile Hopefully Meintjes can continue this and punish Amador and Pluchkin in the next hill stage Grin

Still just the "hill stage" as bbl puts it, so not too mad at Costagli but hopefully he can move into the Top 15. Also great work by Rolland to go for the KOM. Idk why my riders are finally targeting these competitions after how many years in the MG, this is the first year its really happened. He's been one of my best riders this year, although not sure he will be able to hold on to the lead till the end of the race.

I'm happy to see the best climber of 2012 PT promoting squad Team Puma-SAP do so well for you! Pfft

Not great, needed Bennett in that first group. Hopefully he improves in the following stages Sad
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I feel like a retard now for having real hopes for Calmejane to hold on to his yellow jersey. Almost 8 minutes behind....just get this race over with, suck my toes and swallow them quick Sad

Good effort from Seibeb, but in the end nothing to show for it Sad

Would love to see Pibernik get in the break again tomorrow and try for some pts in the pts standings. Petrovski and Seibeb hopefully rest and try again on the last difficult stage, the TT is a non-stage for us Pfft

Congrats to Maxime on the victory Smile

Not sure why we're showing up to races anymore.

Thank you once again for the fantastic pace and well written reports cunego, you're doing an amazing job! Smile

When it comes to the stage, I don't have any words left. I feel I have been patient with this new PCM version, but now it's starting to get ridicilous. Europcar is relegating anyhow, so for us it's not that big of an issue, but I feel very sorry for those seriously affected by this.

The six favorites in this race, all 80 or 79 hill, ending up an eternity behind in a average hill stage with an small hill ending.

Dowsett (60th) + 9,23
Ben Nasser (93rd) + 11,46
Zaini (96th) + 11,46
Froome (107th) + 11,46
Barrio (124th) + 17,17
Vogt (147th) + 24,36

The puncheurs are not "slightly underpowered", as mentioned pre-season, they are completely useless now. It makes no sense really. The game is seriously broken. Sad

I may need to repeat this: every incline in this game is a MO incline.

HIL can only counter its effects for so long.
It cannot make a sufficient difference on stages filled with 10km climbs that Gilbert would get dropped on halfway through IRL as well, to invoke the most common comparison for the new system. That orange icon in the top right corner is cute but irrelevant.

I don't say it's good. But it's been well-established by now, I remember worrying about this back when Cyanide first introduced the system.

This is the truth. The peopl who had PCm 18 can say they told us all they want, it isn't the truth. They told us mountain would matter a bit more, but the favorites for each race would still be the same, and the AI would play it that way. That was a blatant lie.

Once again though, I can't complain. JJ at least tried to do something today, so I guess I applaud him for that, even though once again, he couldn't keep in the breakaway on hills despite being one of the strongest at it.

Warbasse remains in a good position, and hopefully is on his way to a good result. His fitness looks great at this point.

And AKA survived. Obviously, it probably would have been better for us if some of the sprinters below him abandoned, but he's already decently placed for tomorrow. Just has to actually execute.

Amazing reports cunego!

Yellow Jersey
Pantano doing surprisingly well in non-suiting stages, but his TT was ridiculously weak, so only a breakaway could have him in a noticeworthy place in the GC by the end. Still, Top15 wouldn't be bad.

And we intentionally put off moving to that new system, until a bunch of users who claimed to have done a lot of testing told us it was safe to move. Not every has played a ton of PCM 16-18 on here, and the lies spread by users who have definitely screwed us over. If somebody has just said your first paragraph straight up when we were having this debate, there wouldn't be any issue. But because people wanted to assuage our fears and convince us to switch, they didn't let on nearly how clear and extreme of a change it would be.

I would like to continue to believe that everyone involved in the switch tried to act in the best interest of the game and the managers playing it.

I am personally quite certain that I voiced my concerns about the DB compatibility in the discussion leading up to the edition change, although I couldn't find a post in a quick search a little while ago.
In the end, I was convinced that the overwhelming support inside the "dev team" was worth more than my personal experiences with the game and the worry about the theoretical effects on the artificial rider types we created.
I didn't and do not have a reason to not trust these people.

I guess you expect people with 62-65 mountain rating to get through long climbs unscathed?
