Wow, that's an insanely good TTT team for a CT team 
Sadly, not much scoring options elsewhere. Will be a very long season for your team, except when fighting against the clock

Sam Bennett:
Sprint Leader, Sam will be asked to win some stages without much support. He is up to the task and his CT days limit will limit him to strategic use
Lawson Craddock:
Lawson is the great hope for the team and will lead in many races. After a small bidding battle he is the top earner and expectations follow suit. Glanbia is confident he will deliver with the Tour of America a target for a good GC place
Michael Ford:
A risky gamble by Glanbis Michael is , in theory, a Time Trialer to ride with the best. There are questions about his mentality but in a team focussed on TTs he will be expected to to deliver.. |

I appreciate a team with good TT depth 
Yeah, I agree with Aquarius' assessment that it will be tough but Bennett can probably grab a win on a good day and good race planning!

Glanbia have announced their goals for the season. The new outfit are predicted to struggle although their Time Trial Team has been decsribed as "insane for the Continental Division".
Not surprisingly Time Trials feature in the sponsor's goals. Watch out too for the flying green jerseys in Moneterrey and Vilnius.
Michael Ford will be targeting Windhoek and time trial stage wins across the season while Sam Bennett will be asked to bring home the bacon in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge.
Stage racers- Lawson Craddock and Tyler Brandt wil be leading in Tachira, Langwaki and the Tour of America.
Time Trial options also include Aggrey Sebright, Seán Downey and Mark Griffith.
Nico Roche will lead in hilly classics.
There are no young guns as of yet in the team but hopefully the Continental draft will yield some young talent.
Everybody's favourite Irish-American-Antipodean team is raring to go.
Our sponsors are excited about the propsect of competing with the best in the Tour of California.

Congrats on surviving the transfer season. I like the TT focus, gives the team an identity.
Look forward to Bennett and Holloway going head to head in the USA Challenge - it is one of my goals as well. |

I love teams with an identity, and you definitely have one! You should absolutely destroy TTT's! Bennett is also the perfect CT sprinter for you guys.
Honestly, it's very unfortunate that you sacked Teggart though. Would have become a very quality rider for you in the future. To be completely honest, when the numbers crunch come, I don't think he should have been the one cut. There are quite a few guys who could have gone instead of him I feel.
That's all in the past now though. Best of luck this season!

Definitely a nice team, with a cool identity. I would have loved building a strong TT unit as well, but there simply weren't enough fitting riders in SWI/ITA available. So I postponed this to next year, or the year after, or... we'll see
We surely tried to avoid as many ITT / TTT races as possible, but you'll still get the opportunities to crush us |

In my experience in single player you can pull it off but I don't think the AI can be set up to go for it? |

It's nice to see a CT team going for TTTs, it can be one area where it is possible to do well in the C1 races.
KoM goals aren't the easiest to achieve, for sure. For Langkawi it is probably equivalent to targeting overall victory in the race, as the biggest climbs tend to dominate that competition over breakaway luck!

Glanbia's first race took place at the Clasico San Cristobal.
The team is set up for Time Trials and Stage races so any result here is a bonus.
Good work from loanee Ben O'Connor saw Glanbia represented in the breakaway in its first race.
But this wasn't to be a fairytale start.
The inevitable puncher finale saw Glanbia outclassed with Nico Roche managing 21st place.
Next up Tachira with a Time Trial! |

Monthly Report from Glanbia HQ
January 2019
In its first month of cycling Glanbia have experienced some highs and lows but having completed its first goal the mood is upbeat in the team for the season ahead.
The team’s first race took place in the Clasico San Cristobal where the team was hoping for a beginners’ luck. Loanee Ben O’Connor stole into the breakaway to get the first bit of airtime for the green of Glanbia.
Ultimately there was only disappointment with Nicolas Roche just missing out on the top 20 in the hilly finish.
On to the Vuelta al Tachira- the team’s focus for the month with sponsors demanding a top ten finish. The bookies and pundits ruled out the possibility but Tyler Brandt had other ideas.
The American journeyman stage racer scored consistent top 10 places to land a GC place of 7th. Lawson Craddock put in solid performance too taking 24th in the GC and just missed out on a successful breakaway.
The month ended with the Great Ocean Road Classic. Sam Bennett’s first chance to shine as sprint leader proved a chaotic race wth Sam only managing to sneak a top 20.
The month must count as a success with the goal of a top ten in Táchira comfortably met but the warning signs of a long difficult season are also there in the other results.

Monthly Report from Glanbia HQ
February 2019
Tour de Langkawi:
Stage 1 Victory for Glanbia!
Time Trail Demon Michael Ford blitzes the field to win Glanbia’s first stage, first Yellow jersey and first Green jersey.
He won by one second the 2.2km prologue.
It was to last only one day as bonus seconds for the sprinters saw Ford slip to 3rd place on day 2.
Day 3 saw the first (massive) climb. KOM was actually a goal for the team here but the management have accepted that was a bit ambitious.
A gallant breakaway attempt led by Connor Mc Convey came to nought. Tyler Brandt moves up to 18th overall.
A nothing day on a flat Stage 4 for Glanbia.
Back uphill for Stage 5. Nicolas Roche secured some KOM points but the real story was the 7th and 8th of Mc Convey and Craddock on the day putting them both into the top 20 while Brandt slipped away.
Stage 6- so close to a second Stage win. Sean Downey‘s breakaway made it- barely -all the way to the end. He was outsprinted ending in 5th place with the same time as the peloton.
Stage 7- Boom! Obviously not too tired from yesterdays’ exploits Sean Downey tried again after great work from Glanbia allowed him to launch to reach the breakaway. The Irishman showed his rouleur strength in holding off the peloton and win Glanbia’s second stage of the Tour and of their history.
On to the home Tour- Rás Tailteann
A flat Tour means we can only hope Sam Bennett can bring glory to the green through his sprinting prowess. The chances of a successful breakaway seem limited.
Stage 1 was a write-off, an attempt by George Simpson to make the day’s break was over before it began. In the inevitable sprint Bennett only managed 25th!
Stage 2 was a little better from the sponsor’s point of view. Both Sean Downey and William Connolly got into the breakaway with Connolly even having a bit of solo time out front. The finish was frenetic with Bennett at least ending up in the peloton having been caught out by a split.
38th place for Bennett on Stage 3 sums up his Rás. Outclassed or out -teamed? Either way a bitter first home experience for Glanbia.

February Continued:
A trip to New Zealand for the Gisborne GP.
Nico Roche leading the team but hopes of a good result were not high. And rightly so.
Roche was dropped 12km from the end and could only mange 28th place.
Staying New Zealand the Boys in Green take on the Tour of Southland.
Aggrey Sebright slips into the break on day one but missed out on the only KOM sprint. Sam Bennett gets 7th in the bunch sprint.
Day 2 is another short flat stage but with an uphill last 3km. A brief breakaways showing by Tyler Brandt counts for nothing as Glanbia are destroyed on the final climb. in 33trd overall Brandt is the leading Glanbia man.
Day 3 is a flat one but Glanbia miss out on the breakaway. A wind affected finish means Bennett can't compete in the sprint.
Day 4 is another , probably decisive hill finish. No luck getting into the Breakaway and a poor showing in the last kms with Roche best placed in 61st place. Brandt drops to 54th place overall.
Day 5 is flat as a pancake and a last chance for Bennett to salvage something. things don't look good as he loses contact with the peleton ins a split but he gets back in touch. All for nought as he can only manage 15th summing up a very poor race for Glanbia.

A month of some highs but mainly lows for Glanbia with a particularly bad home race in the Rás and a forgettable couple of races in New Zealand.
Although the goal of the King of the Mountains in Langwaki didn't materialise two stage wins from Ford and Downey make up for it. |
