Don't remind me. I'm from the town next to Harrogate and all I see on my friends' social media is WC related - while I'm here in my Baltic exile |

Well, look at it this way, at least you have friends who are into cycling too!
I don't have any friends who are into cycling. I only have Alakagom.

Cool of you to take in the entire world championships. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do that last year at my home WC in Innsbruck.
Speaking of home, I will be moving to Paris in October. If anybody is ever around there, let me know...

Maybe not his funniest video, but seems a good choice for this forum.

Saw that yesterday, as I'm a big fan of his videos. I liked that he at least acknowledged the pro scene and new the most famous spots. Makes me like him even more.

FIA World RallyCross Championship 2019 - by some considerable distance the best motorpsort series of the year.
You think the 2008 F1 finale was crazy close? Ha! The full stream of the Final will be up on YT shortly this afternoon, just check it out a find yourself a new amazing sport to follow. (And the entire 2019 season is availble in full on YT as well, so you know, just watch it all)
If you need me, i'll be breathing heavily into a paper bag to calm myself down. And then i'll need 3 months to recovery from the drama...

Just came around it and thought about posting it: My count of daily meet-ups in now up to 3 in 3 different countries, with the possibility to expand them to 5 in 5 countries in 2020.
So far all three for me have been awesome, and I at least try to stay in touch with the people occasionally. Also it's very fun to see how different the persons can be in comparison to what you expect just from the avatars/writing styles.
Anybody else had good experience so far with daily meet-ups? Would you consider meeting a person you just know from the internet? Curious about whether that's just a thing I enjoy or something that happens more often/used to happen more often with daily members... |

I've always been interested in meeting someone in person. When NTTHRASH was around here I learned that he actually lived about 2 hours away from me. Nothing ever ended up happening.
Mre & bball are the only 2 others I know that are semi-close and both are still 6-7 hours away from me if they are still where I assume they are.
547984 used to be here and lived in Texas, would have been cool to meet him. I never travel internationally so the odds of me ever actually meeting someone are slim to none.

I've not yet met anyone from Daily (although SN and I have apparently been just a few meters apart on a couple of occasions, weirdly). But I have met other people from other online communities.
I'm a huge Rooster Teeth fan and have been on several meet-ups, either big group things, or smaller more personal gatherings with just a few others. Will be taking that up a level in Summer 2020 to travel to Austin for RTX (google it if you care enough), and am already building up connections for a few travel buddies to make things easier.
I've considered it from some other communities as well, making some good friendships here and there. Did do it once in a one-on-one which went pretty well, well enough to do it another time before we lost touch.
And to be clear, whilst my Avatars are almost award winning, I can safely say I'm not quite that beautiful... although it's damn close!

Yeah, the large geographic spread of the US, combined with my lack of tendency to travel, makes it pretty unlikely I'd ever meet another Daily member. Jdog is definitely the closest, and as he said, he's still quite a few hours away.
I guess I'd do a meetup at this point, but it's not realistic enough to ever happen.

Feel free to send me an invite for the next one within reach, but I guess you probably don't want me around if Herklotz keeps doing these things to Spilak

As far as I know no one is anywhere close to where I live, and no one would want to come to where I live, considering the crime, terrible weather and nothing really to see or do

My city is actually quite a bit lower on the list than it should be imo. We have had more than 40 homicides this year, so not sure where they got a number that is half that. Our Homicide rate per capita will probably be double any other city.

I met up with former admin Doddy13 a couple of times during the London Olympics, including being sat next to each other at the Closing Ceremony, but that's my only Daily meetup. There did use to be a lot more Skype voice chats, and evenings of online racing, so have spoken with others.

40? We do that by February here in Baltimore. That said I love the city and the fortunate/unfortunate truth is the homicides don't impact the vast majority of the residents. Anybody planning to come for the planned Maryland Cycling Classic next year, would be happy to meet.

I'm probably the closest being in North Dakota. If you could please keep your terrible weather north of the border that would be much appreciated.

If it makes anyone feel better in from Australia haha. I think the closest for me is Jandal in NZ and I don’t actually know if he actually lives in NZ.
So I’m pretty far away from all the action ahaha
