The Clasica San Sebastian is one of the oldest races on the MG calendar taking place since 2007 and lots of big names in the winner list with Alejandro Valverde`s three wins being unbeaten sofar. Spaniards have done well here in the past but are waiting for a win since 2012. Most recent Boasson Hagen in 2017 with Flügel, Prevar, Di Maggio, Roche have taken glory here as well in between. Some are back to repeat their win.

The startlist looking really narrow at the top without a clear favourite. So many similar strong riders and for history reasons I give Flügel due to his earlier win and Kinoshita with an earlier podium the top favourite card here.
That said Lutsenko might be the best puncheur in the 2018 PCT division and also Anuar Aziz has won quite a bit already. McCarthy, Froome, Schreurs or Ulissi all had their good moments this year. What we are missing though is the Spaniards.
Barrio, Bilbao are quite far down the list and are outsiders only. Just like former winner Prevar, who though likes this race clearly.

A bit more of a balanced hills amarda here than in other races, hopefully should free up Villella a bit more, we've seen what he is capable of in strong fields this year. I think Pichon will try to attack far out, but regardless, we need a win here to have any chance of pulling a houdini in the relegation race.
Generally I think its open to any of the 81 puncheurs to take it here.

Well, here's one more shot. JJ needs to do something really insane here. If Waeytens or Kwiatkowski do better than him, that's pretty much the death knell to our relegation chances. He has to go all out. An anonymous race will simply not do.

Quevedo with a long range attack to beat everyone by a country mile...
...or not, but hopefully he'll produce a better result than in the past few races!

Sorry to bbl and Ollfardh, I really don’t want you guys to go either, but I’m behind Kwiatek to get up and save Netia here. Go on Michal! If Dyrnes feels like a top 15 that’d be fun too.
Roux should be aiming high here, the slight MO influence should weaken him but he got over it well in Emilia I guess!

A crunch race all-around as the season approaches the finale. Looking for Betancourt and/or Boily to bring home some decent ppRD to keep us safely clear of the relegation dogfight. Stamina might play an important part given the race length here, which isn't really in our favour, but fingers crossed; any mixed Mo/Hill influence should alternatively provide a boost. Looking at the start list, maybe an appearance in the BotD for one of our domestiques might be on the cards?

Pufff, that's a strong startlist Also, i hope you meant Bystrom in the preview
Hopefully Flugel, Kinoshita and Ulissi get all three in the podium to avoid Ayubowan and Indosat from scoring big here

Conglomerate Support is spot on. Kwiatek should easily Top5 in this Mo/Hi Classic, everything else would be rigged AI this is the race where Kwiat needs to save Netias season!!

Looks like a pretty open race, looking for Flügel to repeat his win but anywhere in the top 10 seems possible.
Good luck to teams who are fighting for promotion and relegation.
Thanks for the preview roturn.

Just another race where we can hope that Caruso or Zingle will be able to give our supporters something good to remember from this season but unlikely.

I'm so nervous about this race. I don't know how much we need, it depends on Maroc, but we definitely need to widen our gap to Lierse and Carlsberg if we're gonna stay up. Come on Kwiat, you've got this.
At the very least, Mørkøv isn't here to pull a Zuri.
@Janal, Croatia & Knockout: Thanks for the ongoing support of Netia, it means a lot!
Thanks for the preview Roturn!

Couldn't care much about the result myself as it doesn't suit Lutsenko perfectly and I feel like this new profile is going to cause more of a random race with 3-4 riders ahead and then whoever was in front of the bunch picking up the lucky points.
But that only makes the relegation fight more interesting!

Fluky breakaway win?
There's no way Barbin and Vanendert can hang with the beasts up front, so I'm hoping Gradek, Eyob or Pavarin sneak out and stay out ahead.
Good luck to all involved in the relegation fight (not the promotion fight though).
Thanks roturn

Well that was bloody dreadful from us. No more hope in this set of riders, time to rethink wtf we're doing next year. Thanks for the report Roturn!

Awesome
This looks great for Netia, a huge step towards safety. Not done yet but they now are in the position that the other teams need a fluke result somewhere..
Nice report, congrats to a (not really that surprising) winner

Solid ride Kwiat, Dyrnes as well to outscore Waeytens. I'd love to celebrate that performance, I'm certainly happy, but I don't know yet if 5th is enough, at the least it widens the gap to potentially defendable levels, so now we just have to cross our fingers, as realistically we only have another 20 points left in us this season.
Also, funnily enough this continues a trend that in the last 7 editions of this race, there has been a rider in the top 5 either on a Polish team at the time, or currently racing for one.
Thanks for the report Roturn! Really appreciated the updates on the relegation battle especially!
Congrats to Vien on the win as well!

Could've been worse. A few points is better than no points.
Thanks roturn for the report, and congrats Vien!
