Tour of America Rider Performances (PCT only)
First of all a Tour of America PCT only overview on the rider scoring. If a rider is not in the list, he either didn`t participate or had a 0 pointer.
While Valls won the race, it was still a close race in terms of points scoring as others had better stage results.
That said in the end Valls takes the PCT crown with 285 points scored ahead of Yates and Eastman, while GC´s runner-up Talansky only in 4th.
Haller as best sprinter also topped the 200 point mark. Berhane as last to mention. Surely not the race he wanted but still decent scoring.
| Rafael Valls | ESP | | Kulczyk - DMTEX | 285 | | Adam Yates | GBR | | Ayubowan! | 268 | | Ryan Eastman | USA | | Azteca - NBCSN | 249 | | Andrew Talansky | USA | | Podium Ambition | 236 | | Marco Haller | AUT | | Kraftwerk Man Machine | 211 | | Natnael Berhane | ERI | | World Cycling Centre | 176 | | Ilia Koshevoy | BLR | | World Cycling Centre | 103 | | Oscar Riesebeek | NED | | Team Reddit | 100 | | Mektel Eyob | ERI | | Kulczyk - DMTEX | 97 | | Robbie Squire | USA | | Azteca - NBCSN | 77 | | Cameron Meyer | AUS | | Team Reddit | 68 | | Peter Stetina | USA | | Azteca - NBCSN | 68 | | Luke Keough | USA | | Azteca - NBCSN | 60 | | Faycal Hamza | ALG | | Team Reddit | 45 | | Ricki Nelson | AUS | | Podium Ambition | 41 |
Full Ranking and most recent races
4 races basically are in this update plus some small pointers in C2 events probably.
Rund um Köln saw a PCT team win a PTHC event against strong PT competition. Degenkolb though surely is not a regular PCT rider and Iberia took a well deserved win and big scoring. It was actually a great month for them in general with decent (even if underperforming a bit) in Barbados and also Rheden.
Rheden was taken by Repsol, which still lost a bit due to the closeness of the division and their lack of big points elsewhere.
Barbados had PT promotion candidate SPAR taking huge points. Guerao did beat the PCT sprinter elite and dominated the race.
Tour of America with 7 scoring teams in the PCT! Kulczyk as race winner with 453. Still they got beaten point wise by Azteca, who still sit in last spot though with quite some gap! WCC with a big jump forward in the relegation fight while Podium Ambition also scored well and still have chances to promote.
Ayubowan, Reddit, Kraftwerk all had some scoring as well and also keeping the chance for PT racing in 2019.
In total Generali defended their PCT crown impressively while SPAR and Fablok defended their podium spots. Then a jump by Iberia from 6th to 4th. Promotion candidate by now followed by Indosat ahead of Podium Ambition. That said the gaps are tiny and up to 3rd or even 2nd it`s totally open still.
Basically all the mid table teams still with chances!
At the bottom it doesn`t look good for Azteca, Euskaltel and Nordstrom. All with some gap already while Carlsberg adn Netia for now sit on the relegation spots but the gap to Lierse isn`t big. Those 3 most likely will fight out the 2 remaining spots!
WCC with the ToA might have saved themselves and also Novatek, Meiji, Carrefour look good for now.
Mentionable jump from Kraftwerk. Last update already from 24th to 20th and now even higher to 11th! Great late season for them.

The PCT crown still has Pluchkin and chances are high, it will remain. New runner-up is Degenkolb, who switched podium places with Coppel, while Lutsenko, Uran and Baugnies remain on the following spots. So pretty well balanced terrains in the early spots.
Ulissi, Mohs and Ewan all climb up into the top 10 with Denifl, Keizer and Kwiatkowski dropping therefore.
Cavendish also had a good month and goes up from 19th to 11th.
Other significant climbs from Saber, Flügel, Holloway, Guerao, Eastman or Yates, who had good results. ToA winner Valls also with most of his season scoring there and up to 39th.

Reddit is way higher than we should be thanks to 281 (!) points in the ToA when we expected only a decent scoring from the prologue. That said promotion is off the cards with Lutsenko only able to score around 450 more poinrts, and I'm glad about that. As I said before I'd rather balance my team further before we enter the PT.
Lutsenko's wage demand is still something that keeps me up at night though...
At the bottom the relegation battle seems to have finished for Netia with close to zero races left, but Carlsberg and Lierse have Maroc left in which AKA and Garby could potentially still save Carlsberg! And still some Juul-Jensen races though Lierse have more depth in the hills.
Thanks for the update.

Hmm, Koshevoy scoring in America did a lot of damage to us, but fortunately a good Barbados kept us just barely alive, San Sebastien is the race of truth for us, but even with a good day there we've got two hope the other two teams don't get lucky.
Thanks for the update Roturn!

Don't get me wrong, I'm incredibly scared that we are going to go down, but don't count us out yet! San Sebastien is still yet to happen where we have a lot of scoring potential and we have depth for the two remaining hills classics, so certainly nothing is done yet, as scoring against PT teams in Maroc for the other two is no easy task.

I think it will be very intersting to see whether Netia can survive. They surely have my support, but right now I think they're rotten fish. Too many surprise points on the table in Maroc.

Hmm it got closer than I would've liked, but looks like promotion nonetheless. Which is awesome!

Um, guys? I know I said I was happy with survival but that didn’t mean to stop scoring Weren’t we outside chances at the top 10?
Unfortunate position for Netia now thanks to Koshevoy’s great ride, however it’s not over yet. Come on Kwiatek! And everyone else....

Didn't really expect to move up the table in this update but here we are
Saber confirming his status as the our top scorer this season is a huge achievement. Our first signing this transfer season is also our best Per (how will we cope with losing him next season ) and Van Zandbeek with very important contributions as well, covering up for the likes of Krieger and Dieteren, who've been rubbish. Just a couple of races left for us and I don't see us hanging on to 13th. It'll probably be a 15th-16th finish. Lot's of work to be done in the off-season to improve next season.
Thanks for the update roturn

And there we have the expected drop in the standings. Had some slight hope we could still achieve a top ten but with the remaining schedule that's out of reach. Think we have been overperforming/getting lucky results in the early parts of the season which gave me false hope.
Tight battle for relegation. Any of the three teams involved can still survive, so will be tense to read the final reports.
Thanks for the update roturn

Thanks for the update! This should seal us going down, unless we get some freak results in San Sebastian, Maroc and Japan Cup.

This certainly looks very good! Already more points than projected in the last rankings update. With only limited scoring potential in San Sebastian and Japan Cup I hope we can defend our 2nd spot.
I'm happy Guerao still managed to kind of turn his season around in his last race, where he more than doubled his points total. However, still 400 points less than last season!
Thanks for the update, looking forward to the final races! |

With Emilia points it would look slightly worse than this (20 and 40 points further behind from Indosat and Iberia), but it all comes down to what Kudus can achieve in Maroc. I think between San Sebastian, Torino and Japan we should score quite similar to Iberia and Podium, and less than Indosat. Ayubowan is dangerous too, with a top puncheur and like 150 more points than the shown here with Emilia win, and Yates being in Maroc too.
This is going to be so intense...

Giro dell Emelia mainly impacted the mid table and only slightly the promotion or relegation fight.
In short:
- Ayubowan and Kraftwerk both climb a spot, while Reddit drops those 2 down.
- Same with Meiji and Novatek, who both pass Carrefour.
- At the bottom main scorer was Netia! Might look small but for now, they are 10 points ahead of Lierse and above the line putting pressure on Lierse and Carlsberg.
WCC still 191 points ahead but not safe neither yet. |

Feels like my riders have also given up the ghost at the end of the year as well
Slipped all the way down to 15th... would have liked to be higher

Hmmm, so close yet so far, even after the ToA. Others are just too strong. Looks like another season in the PCT for Kulczyk.
We're already making plans.
