Yeah, I came here through playing pcm. However I haven't played the game in several years but am still a regular visitor. It's true that the traffic isn't as high as it used to be, but I think that's more down to the game being less popular than anything else.
Did we ever find out what happened to the ability to rate posts with a thumbs up or thumbs down? Would be good if that could be brought back.

I think steam's adition and some other DB's might have taken down the site activity a bit, although I wasnt aware of that at that time.
Ok so thumbs up/down, rate posts, comunity polls and "most active forummer".. it's a little list of things that would be nice to see back on the site if it's possible to do so

we'd need active modders for that though, and I don't think I've seen many of the faces behind the side too often lately

Did the site become a little less slow since it's breakdown last weekend? We need some feedback regarding the issues with the general speed/loading times of the site.
I'm not sure. It feels faster, more stable in a way. Could be wrong though. EDIT: Actually posting this post still felt like it took too long though
Thanks in advance.

For me it feels a bit slower than I was used to (a year ago or so). But it's acceptable yet.

It's been slow for a few months now. It's not terrible, it just takes a few seconds for the page to load each time you click on something or post a comment. It's not the end of the world but it does become a bit frustrating when you just want to have a quick look on your lunch break or while you're sat on the toilet

For me it seems like loading pages takes a lot less time than a few days ago, but sending messages/posts takes more. Kinda weird

Good news! The site should be back to full speed now
Seems like one single object in our db caused the trouble. Thanks to DW48 for taking care of it!

Nice, my render time was like 17 seconds on average for every page, and now its back to less than a second

Yes I'm really happy with the render time seemingly back to normal, awesome if it remain like this it's something that has been a bug for quite some time.

Now that is a relief. Thanks DW48, almost forgot you owned the site!

Wow, I actually remember using those! That's a major shot of nostalgia for sure.
This also reminded me of the Cycling Manager 4 downloads site we had together back in 2005: https://web.archi....cym4.com/
And thanks for fixing pageload speeds, DW. Very noticeable difference.

I don`t remember the upper one, but definitely used the bottom one with my first "PCM" experience almost 20 years ago...making me kind of old now I guess. |

That's right, DubbelDekker! And since we're still on the subject, here's the predecessor to our CyM4 Downloads Site, CyMFusion (unfortunately without news and logo):

... and the one before that:

Pretty sure I stole the design for that one and was notified by that site's owner. While stealing, I had apparently forgotten to remove the original site's statistics system, and they were wondering why so much traffic was suddenly getting registered

Some real-life stuff: Proud to share I've picked up four state-wide awards — sports page (1st and 3rd), sports series (honorable mention) and sports photo (honorable mention) — for my work as a sports reporter for a large daily newspaper here in the USA.
We are the smallest large daily in the state, so we hardly ever get any awards. So, to get that many awards in a year is pretty rare around here.
Slowly, but surely I might work my way up to cover the Tour de France one day...
In other news/shameless plug, PCM.Daily Favourite Cyclist Contest is up and running for a 10th and final season. Get your votes in!
