If Valverde wins the Vuelta someone should make a statue of him. |

He's showing to be already the present of Spanish GT hopes, but he's only 23. If he can hold onto this podium place it would be amazing

+1
Am I the only one who suddenly got hyped for Valverde to win Yates seems like he'll have Prato Nevoso 2.0 in La Rabassa. I didn't think it would happen but this is surely a sign, and the race wont get any easier.

Havn't seen a single stage but read all the reports, when was the last time all three GTs in a year were decent to great?

2015 had a brilliant Giro and a not bad Tour (but Vomistar were horrible in tactics and ruined it) but Vuelta was very bad apart from Cercedilla (which was one of the best Vuelta stages of 21st century) and Cortals d' Encamp. 2016 Giro was brilliant and Vuelta was good as well but TDF was the worst I've ever seen lol. 2017 Giro was meh for standards, Vuelta was good and TdF wasn't that bad but still boring. (worse than 15 but better than 16 and 18)
I dno, 2005?
Giro was great, TDF at least had some action (but still boring) and Vuelta had the Pajares stage. Or 2010, with the best Giro and a good Tour, but the Vuelta was not very exciting that year.
2005 or 2010 probably.
This Vuelta is horrible, one of the worst GTs in recent years. Giro was brilliant but the TdF was horrible as well apart from Laruns stage which was very good.

Difference of opinion I guess, but the Tour wasn't exactly great this year.
Loving the race here though. Yates definitely saved a bit today by Adam finally coming alive for a bit. Should go right down to the wire.

Honestly the last Tour which I considered good was the first one I watched fully, the 2011 one. In the meantime the 2015 was average, other than that there was none that matched the expectations.
2013, 2016 Tours were bad, when you compare them with the expectations put on it they were horrible, really bad to watch compared to regular races. 2017 Tour WASN'T good, and if it wasn't for Bardet it would be as it was in 2016.. And this year's wasn't really good either.
Giro was great in 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017 was also preety good, and this year's was neutral.. I liked it but it's like Froome's presence overshadowed everything else in it, literally.
Same reason for Vuelta last year, it was horrible. It was all about the question if Froome could do the double, nothing else mattered, and nobody was racing for victory. Vuelta has been the best imo in the last few years tho, lots of mistery and short gaps, coming down to seconds and bonification which forces them to be agressive. 2012 was da bomb, 2013 was average/good, 2014 not so much.. 2015 was preety good, I disagree with previous comment, 2016/2017 dull..
This year's Vuelta isn't being particularly exciting but it's the best GT since Giro 2017. I'd say this year's Giro but the whole Froome and stage 19 I can't properly enjoy something I can't believe 100%.
All was just my oppinions tho
