Brenes’ top-10 goal is looking more than impossible i What a starlist.
Don’t think anyone can beat Dombo or Rein. Hope we can manage to sneak into the break or finish inside the top-20.

Wow, tough startlist. Top-5 is probably the best I can hope of. |

It was either Pico Basile or this for Úran's final two racedays, and chose this one. The startlist is tougher but points wise a fifth place here equals a win there, and a podium there is almost as much as a top ten here. Hoping Úran's abysmal DH stat is not a problem in the final.

The competition here looks great, but I hope Barguil can make a great first impression in his Moser career. Any top 10 result would be nice, but with his strong downhill, I hope he has a chance for top 5. Also looking forward to see our former leaders Uran and Velits in the action as well as T-Mobile's mountain dream team.

Whew pretty glad I didn't send Eastman to this mess. Would be fighting just for a top 10. Instead we will take the breakaway option and a prayer. Excited to see how this plays out with so many elite climbers here.

If we can get two in the top 15, I'll be thrilled.
This startlist is scary, especially for our first mountain race at PCT level. Good lord.
Thanks for the preview tsmoha, and looking forward to the report!

Hoping for a top 15 from both Guldhammer and Beltran, as the latter hopefully overperforms due to his descending skills. Then Galta hopefully adds some depth with a top 20.
For the win, I'd say it's between Taaramäe and Dombrowski, as I rate him better than Pluchkin in a pure mountain race/stage. Should be an epic race nevertheless! |

Looking forward to WCC's PTHC debut here in Canada. Expected very strong start-list, and the battle between the top half-dozen or so contenders should be riveting viewing. Behind these riders, we hope Berhane and Ji will prove competitive in the 2nd-grouping of strong mountain specialists. Prior to the release of the start-list, I'd held out hope that Berhane would be a top 10 contender, and Ji top 15. Perhaps a bit of a stretch now the start-list is confirmed, but still hope to be showing close to these objectives for both. Given the opening two races for WCC have offered little return, now that some of our leaders are pinning on race numbers we hope for a more positive outcome.

Thanks for a great report tsmoha, and congrats to alex with his new toy grabbing a win!
Velits would love some! Not a great result for us really, would have preferred some more selection on the climb (guess a proper precursor could have done us some good) for Velits' pure MON to kick in, but not a very suited race anyway. Happy Gilanipoor grabbed 2 points, was the minimum for him. Shame he couldn't creep up a few spots and get some more to get us 20 points here.

Damn, first goal missed Big congrats to Dombrowski and Alex!
Barguil at 5th a great result for Moser. Also really happy about our teamwork, it seems like the Rein-train will work, and considering this is the only race (iirc) I sent both Marquez and Preidler with Rein it was great to see him attack anyway, will do that for sure then when he dosen't have all of them. Really happy about them finishing 15th and 21st, making sure then we get some extra points. Also Krasnoperov and Moschella just securing that tiny bit of extra points. In fact I think we had all riders inside top 100 to at least secure 2 points each.
Really good report as well, loved the foggy pictures. I hope this race is here to stay, I really liked to profile, and the battle on the downhill was awesome.

I was disappointed to see Dombrowski caught after that attack, but he was still strong enough to take the win. What a unit. Last year I had to wait until Giro for my first victory, now I have 2 in January.
Slightly disappointed to see Brambilla so far down the rankings, but Dombrowski's result and the way he achieved it makes up for it.
Sorry for robbing you of your goal, Heine, but Dombrowski winning on his debut for the team is just too sweet
Thanks for the report!

17th place is just so bad for Kudus... Not a great first showing for our colors, but this race was always a huge risk in his planning, given that there were so many strong 80-81 climbers which could see either getting a Top5-8 or just a Top20.
Anyway, an exciting race as predicted. Great battle between Dombrowski and Taaramae, with the US rider taking it "home". Probably down to be in first place before the sprint, which could be another reason for Kudus bad result, as he was just badly placed in his group ahead of the sprint
Thanks for the report tsmoha!

Nice win for eBuddy!
24th is good enough, has to be worth a few points at least, while we used to come out pointless in a race like this last season. Joining the early break would've been nice though.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Not far off
Looks like Penasa was stronger than Valls throughout this race - sorry Aquarius, the OG Kulczyk man's still got it - but it's great to see the two staying together amidst this killer competition. Hope this depth approach continues to pay dividends throughout the season, but as a first attempt against this startlist, I'm really pleased with 13th and 18th.
Hopeful that Pozzo/Eyob/Cieslik can pick it up in less challenging races and bring home some stronger depth points.
Thanks for the report tsmoha, super clear, and loved seeing the action behind the runaway top 4. Congrats to alexkr, and to fjhoekie for Pluchkin crushing it amongst the PCT teams; also to jph for Monsalve/Carthy with stellar performances!

Dombo with really nice move there. Deserved win after going first! Not a bad showing from Taarame either, was probably even stronger than Dombo even.
Barguil could be awesome with some more training. Finishing top 5 here with 81 MT is really impressive.
Looks like Dombo will be tough to beat in the giro

Well fuck me dead, Brenes actually managed a top-10! Our annual mistake goal turned out to be the opposite - maybe this is an omen for bad luck?
Congrats to ebuddy, that was a great victory for Dombo! He’ll be fun to watch this season. New and improved Barguil looks good, too
Thanks for the report too tsmoha!
