Quite a cool stage and a nice mix of riders at the front there. Quite a valuable victory for Gautier, who should really fancy his chances for the overall win now!
Not too happy with Mitchelton though, since they at least should really try to join the breakaways. I mean, that's the basis rules for teams, that don't have anyone on roster capable of competing with half of the peloton here

That was a great stage! Very nice win from Gautier, seems like Valio is going for that title!
And Ulissi doing an Ulissi special, how come he never learn?
He's almost justified this time with him doing all that work trying to catch the head of the race (McCarthy should be ashamed of himself clearly ) but yeah, frustrating to see his sprint never ever come in handy. Still, not a bad result and this puts him in a good position ahead of the next stages and obviously Willunga more than anything. Very afraid that stage will see less selection than this one though.
Oh and Hermans If he keeps performing this way he might just be one of my best ever signings. He's the reason why we're first in team standings too (hopefully we keep this!).
Huge congrats Atlantius and thanks for the thrilling report, roturn!

What a result for Gautier. Especially as a CT-team aswell. This could be a huge race for Valio
Great stage this, and nice to see some aggressive riding too. Looking forward to the rest!

Lander keeps showing a promising early form, there's a very slight chance he might not get dropped too far on Willunga and cash in on this great effort.
Further up front, congrats Valio indeed! It'll be interesting to see if Ewan can snatch the race lead on the next stage, as I believe that would make quite a difference regarding the AI.

Huge win for Gautier and Valio! Thought if it came down to a puncheur showdown Ulissi would have taken it out.
Anuar Aziz finishing with the others is handy, also a shame that Goss didn’t manage to hang in there when he very well could have. Still handy to have a few options though - if Willunga doesn’t create a selection and Goss can keep consistent finishes he can still achieve a decent GC along with AA.
Thanks for the report!

Wow if Gautier manages to take the GC home it's a huge result, already topping big PCT puncheurs and getting massive scoring from Australia

Okay. Did Bouhanni or Moser have a puncture or something because neither of them in the Top 60 is absolute bull shit.

Canola in 8th, that's 1 point I'm not gonna scoff at! Can't wait for Willunga, not looking bad for us so far. Thanks roturn and nice win for maxime

Not that I have seen. Several riders got dropped. Maybe they were unlucky behind some weaker riders that lost contact.
Will check tomorrow with additional pics but doubt I can give you proper answer. |

Gautier keeping out of trouble and Ewan fails to take the leaders jersey. Gautier or Ewan in the GC lead could mean a lot for AI tomorrow. Hopefully we'll race aggressively to get rid of the sprinters.

Patrick Bercz leading out to a stage win, loving it! Congrats Carrefour.
Ewan will be biting himself for not getting through that gap.

Bad positioning from Gaviria, he'll need a really good stage tomorrow.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Another 7th for Roelandts. Not yet a great result, but some points already scored with his sprints performance, and now he's up to 6th in GC. Bystrom still there waiting for a tougher Willunga stage. We'll see what we get, should be a really exciting stage tomorrow.
Good to see the team leading the Teams classification, would be a great source of points that actually haven't thought about it at all during planning. Also Rodriguez is placed nicely in the U25 classification, and hopefully he can do better than all those riders fighting for the 3rd place and give us more points.
Great reports as always roturn!

Nice to see another breakaway attempt, which we took part in. Gratz on the victory Maxime. Also hoping to at least have a guy in a final one of these days. Thanks for the good and speedy reports Roturn!
