What a result by Hermans, he was also picked up hoping he could get these kinds of results thanks to his backups, but didn't expect him to finish top 15 in this kind of classic. About 10 points for us then, which is a lot more than I hoped for before the race 
Sad that Theuns/Planckaert didn't even top 50 though. Thanks for the report tsmoha and congrats Danny!

Good ride from Goss in a chaotic sprint without his main man Ji - there were a lot of disappointments today, so definitely content with a top-10 and top-15 finish from the lair.

this race does not stop surprising us. This should be the race where the norm is to happen the abnormal. I can not remember a year when a clear favorite has won.

Nice stuff Mohs, who actually just won his first race for us and that even being in his last season in prime condition. Great work by the team to secure 9th and 12th too! We don't even usually have more than 1 in the Top 25 of races, so 3 is just awesome! Once again great start to the season like last year, we just have to stay consistent

So close to the podium for Saber! I would've gladly taken 5th before the race and I'll be happy with it now. Coming so close to the podium and missing out is a pity though. Neither of Krieger or Te Brake were of help but the end was just too messy anyway.

Gonna be a long season clearly.
I hate to overreact from one race but we brought an insane sprint train here and its historically been a race that Lo Cicero does great in.
Hopefully its not a sign of things to come for our team and hopefully vanderbiest can make up for Lo Cicero's embarassment here at the TDU |

Oh dear, Cav ran out of gas even though Kraftwerk got a man in the break so we didn't have to chase. No sign of a train and just one helper in the final stages. Not promising.

Really like the effort from Arashiro, but Itami was disappointingly far back and Hayakawa did end up the best of our two sprinters which is also disappointing.

Very disappointing result in the most important race in January for me. Those short curved circuits are always tricky, making race unpredictable. At least my former sprinter delivered, congrats danny. And thanks tsmoha for great report.

Wow Roelandts Could never expect a 4th place out of this race, but he made a perfect sprint given his abilities (Ewan stormed through him to "steal" the podium place), and 70 points already won from the season opener. This give me a lot of confidence of possible results of the Belgian in future races, and maybe makes me sad for him missing out of a couple of C1 flat classics 
This kind of circuit can always deliver weird result due to positioning, and the wind makes the race tougher. Anyway, thanks for the really great report tsmoha!

Impressive long sprint from Mohs, dominant! Chaotic stuff though, as roturn said in the wind not much organisation! Love to see Saber challenging, top 5 is very nice even though it's crushing to be pipped like that

Thanks for the reporting and congrats to Mohs and his crew on both the victory and depth scoring here.
From a WCC perspective, we got the bad weather we had been hoping for, just not the result to go with it. Expectations were low, but still presumed would likely get one or two riders into 20th-30th to tick up a couple of 5 point rewards. Before kick-off if you'd told me that WCC would have 5 riders in the top 50, I'd have been delighted. In the circumstances as best was 31st (Vandousselaere), the first none-point scoring position, and there is some inevitable disappointment. Not a major disaster in the bigger scheme of things as 'only' 5-10 points slipped away, but too many of these outings can mount up quickly and become difficult to come back from.
After that doom and gloom, let's finish on some positives, all 8 WCC riders held on in the (big) front group, with no one getting caught up in the splits at the rear of the bunch that impacted over 1/3rd of the field. This then ensured that development rider Dlamini at least had a decent debut outing.
