Stage 10: Annecy - Le Grand-Bornand
We're on mountaneous terrain for the first time this year. To ease everyone in, there are only three category 1 and one HC climbs. Piece of cake, right? The Montée du plateau des Glières features 6 kilometers at 11%, no other climb this year is steeper for a longer stretch. The descents feature some steep slopes with hairpin turns that could be tricky for some.
Alejandro Valverde (Movistar)
Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain)
Dan Martin (UAE)
Chris Froome (Sky)
Romain Bardet (Ag2r)
This is tough to predict. Top descenders like Nibali or Bardet (if he recovered well enough from the five mechanicals) might try to attack there, something Froome has also done in the past. Should a group stay together, Valverde might be the fastest. If the pace overall is slow, maybe Alaphilippe or Jungels can hang on and contest the sprint. Or maybe a breakaway stays in front until the very end?
---------------
On paper, this looks pretty crazy, but I guess a lot depends on how aggressively the riders approach the stage. A really bad day could mean the end of GC hopes, that's for sure though. Genuinely curious what you guys predict for today.

Valverde to be droppede just before the top of the final climb, and come back to a group of 7-8 GC riders and sprint for the win |

Breakaway win, maybe a downhill move by Bardet or Nibali.

Breakaway win, unfortunately neutral GC day with a pack of 15-20 going over Colombiere together. At most a last kilometre on Colombiere punch by a GC contender or even over the summit a la Froome into Bagneres-du-Luchon, which would really be in the minds of any GC contender so not as easy to pull off.

Its hard to predict. Nibali and Bardet could do something. Quintana will stick to Froome`s wheel as usual. I am looking forward to see Movistar and how they will fare
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

I definitely think Quintana will attack Froome as he is pretty far behind already. But Sky should have the team to handle attacks today. Big question is if Froome can follow his teammates. He didn't look well on the Mur. |

Sky to take Yellow Jersey with Thomas today. That could make an interesting challenge for Sky

I'd say a breakaway aswell... de Gendt, Calmejane or Navarro are my favorites. Normally I'd say Barguil, but he's too close to the GC.
Maybe even GVA could go for the BotD and get a top 5 and secure his yellow.
Guillaume Martin is a good bet too i'd say, while Latour would normally be my favorite - I guess he has to be close to Bardet.

Yeah, what an amazing finish Van der Breggen so strong but AVV kept going, absolutely awesome stuff. Also stunning ride by Uttrup Ludwig, thought she looked very strong and glad she held on for fourth. Really cool stage, exciting and hope La Course only gets bigger and better

No challenge really. Froome is absolute leader unless he crashes out. Thomas will be working for Froome even if he is wearing yellow.

On the contraire, looked much better than I thought on the Mur, and equally good on the cobbles. Loosing 5/10 seconds isn't something Tour defining.. if he managed to prepare well and have no bonk during the race, a podium is the least I can say
