Stage 4: La Baule - Sarzeau
Pretty flat once more. We're in the Brittany now, with the finish in a town with a mayor called David Lappartient. The leadup to the finish line is much less complicated that in stages one and two, almost four kilometers of straight, wide road. The final two kilometers rise with a slope of around 2%.
Fernando Gaviria (QuickStep)
Marcel Kittel (Katusha)
Peter Sagan (Bora)
Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal)
Arnaud Demare (Groupama-FDJ)
Kittel, Greipel and Demare as well as Dylan Groenewegen, Mark Cavendish, Arnaud Demare et al should favor this type of a finish over the ones we've had before this year, as it's much more straightforward. This might be a true test of form for the elite of the sprinters and their leadouts.
---------------
Should be interesting. Those sprinters who want to challenge Sagan for the Green Jersey have to use stages like today to make up some ground on him, I guess. Who is your pick?

Should be slightly uphill aswell as headwin, so I wouldn't rule out Alexander Kristoff for a podium today.
If all goes to plan I'd say:
1 Dylan Groenewegen
2 Fernando Gaviria
3 Alexander Kristoff
4 Peter Sagan
5 Arnaud Demare

Rumours are Laporte is having breathing issues following his stage 2 crash, some terrible early news if it's true, he certainly wasn't his usual self yesterday.

Damn Laporte and his generous organs! His stomach in April, now his lungs

Fuglsang, Landa, Gesink and Roglic all down. Hopefully no injuries.
Also Ledanois down for the 2nd or 3rd time. Can't possibly be good.

Also Gallopin for the 2nd time... Tough luck really. He was well suited for stage 6.

Nah they will get caught because the finish is a long straight. If it was twisty like stage 2 and had no Jerome Cousin wheelsucking in it they might have had a chance |

Loved that finish. Long straight, pretty wide no stupid tight corners. That was perfect |

Cav was indeed a big surprise who would've thought he was still near the front with 1k to go

Great sprint from Groenewegen, but his position was pretty bad. Should've kept Sagan's wheel because then he could've started the sprint in fourth position. Hopefully we can see him battle with Gaviria soon.
Also surprising sprint from Greipel. Thought for a moment he had it. Good to see he can still deliver such a sprint at his age. Also, where was Cavendish?

Well LottoNL should have made a clear choice. Their split between GC men, stage attackers and sprinter have made Groenewegen mostly isolated and useless in the final. He started his sprint like 8th position again. Gaviria gets his sprints on a golden platter. |

Just the way it should be. Hyping him for 3 years now, finally pays off

So, who of the sprinters can cope with tomorrows finale? It should be 4-4,5% in average in the final kilometer, probably ruling out atleast a couple.
I see Sagan, GVA, Colbrelli, Gilbert, Alaphilippe and Matthews - but who else? Can Demare, Gaviria, Groenewegen, Kristoff, Degenkolb etc. do a sprint that hard?
