What a ride by Benjamin Hill taking the overall via 15' of intermediate sprints!!
Also Groenewegen looks in great form for the Tour. Tommorow the race heats up even more #fightforgreen |

No, Bouhanni swerved across him, conceding that Laporte is the better sprinter, and now the best rider in every way except being a cheating punching dickhead Even with the swerve, Laporte was just a tyre width away and going faster

Laporte must've seen Bouhanni swerve for it and thought 'wow, he's desperate for a win' it was generous of him to gift his teammate the win and also he showed his superiority by coming as close as possible.
Should be Cofidis' #1 for the Tour at this rate, they'd be dumb not to.

Rigoberto Uran wins stage 3 of Tour of Slovenia beating Impey and Roglic in the uphill sprint and taking the overall lead.
Explosive race on the climb before as Roglic attacked a few times and then Mohoric went by everyone on another crazy descent, but couldn't hold the 20' to the end. |

Yesterday Roglic took the queen stage of the Tour of Slovenia. He attacked on the final climb distancing his opposition and TTing the last 20km towards the finish line. Mohoric sprinted to 2nd and Majka came in third. Uran came in the same group, but lost the leaders jersey to Roglic.
Today there was the final reckoning with 21.5 km flat TT. Jan Tratnik from CCC put in a great time and was showing off his national TT jersey for a few hours, until the last man Roglic came to the finish another 27' faster.
Majka produced the worst TT of the GC contenders, therefore opening the door for Mohoric, Pogacar and Storer while Uran was able to hold on to 2nd place. Brajkovic finishing 8th gave us 4 Slovenian's in the top 10.
Overall the race was a huge success. Apart from the crashes on stage 1, the race had everything: top sprinting, great breakaway efforts, a hill sprint, crazy descending and a proper GC challenge with the TT in the end and great pictures for 5 days.
Hope for an even better race next year |

Epic ride from Valverde today, attacked with Sanchez with over 60km to go, got a huge gap but tired and was caught on the line by the reduced bunch (still finished second). Good TDF warmup ride as he seals the overall win
And even better... Siskevicius was third on the stage

Remco Evenepoel won the junior European RR with a +10 minute gap. He's jsut wasting his time in the junior races, but UCI wouldn't let him race with the seniors yet.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Anyone here familiar with Quinten Hermans? Won today’s stage in Wallonie and had a good Tour of Belgium Only 23 years old and showing good signs amongst the pros, assuming he mainly rode cyclo cross until now. |

I hope this is a sign Hermans can head the van der Poel rival list, Telenet looking very strong on the road as Lars was also winning stages in Austria I think, like a month ago.. maybe Telenet, Sweeck and Vanthourenhout can pile up MvdP so we can see some good battles this year.

So, Volta a Portugal is up:
We're facing a heat wave with temperatures going as far as 45ºC. Yesterday's stage ~200km-long through Alentejo (driest and hottest region in the country), was not shortened, which led to a 33km/h average speed in flat roads. Hopefully no one has taken salbutamol, otherwise they should test positive
The organization seems to have learned something, though, and is shortening tomorrow's iconic queen stage to the top of Serra da Estrela, which is a shame for spectators, but is actually just a gesture of human decency. This could make the race a tiny bit less predictable... even though W52 is sure to win it again.

A really bad crash as well in San Sebastian with big names involved. With 20km to go Bernal hit the ground and was hit by several riders behind him.
Gorka Izagirre and Mikel Landa also looked really bad afterwards. Later could have a broken hip...
Bernal and Landa in hospital. First with serious facial trauma, later with no exact information yet. |

Hope everyone can recover from those crashes... Bernal really jinxed in Spain.
Meanwhile, Alarcon just memed his way to victory in Volta a Portugal. |
