Amgen Tour of California Result
Podium
1) Egan Bernal
2) Tejay Van Garderen
3) Daniel Felipe Martinez
Egan Bernal continued his impressive form, with strong performances on the climbs to win the race. Tejay Van Garderen took second on the back of an excellent time-trial and some consistent performances elsewhere. Martinez was the really big surprise, finish on the bottom step of the podium, above some more illustrious names.
Bernal was picked by all but two of our predictors, and sees them all rewarded. Only one predictor went with TVG, with an eye-rolling smiley as a disclaimer! Some eyes definitely grew bigger with TVG's performance. Martinez was more popualr than the American in fact, having two picks.
With his pick of Bernal and the lone pick of TVG gives df_Trek the win. In fact, Yates was just 2 seconds off giving our winner a full house and double points (as has been exclaimed by him already )! Selwink and Freitas take second with Martinez the deciding factor.
The table now looks like this:
| Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | | Aquarius97 | 21 | 80 | 425 | | df_Trek | 21 | 120 | 425 | | AbhishekLFC | 21 | 105 | 400 | | Selwink | 21 | 75 | 390 | | Raziz | 21 | 95 | 365 | | Marcovdw | 21 | 140 | 345 | | jandal7 | 19 | 110 | 345 | | roturn | 21 | 80 | 335 | | purepasd | 20 | 85 | 320 | | FreitasPCM | 21 | 75 | 300 | | hillis91 | 21 | 70 | 290 | | trekbmc | 11 | 95 | 225 | | Croatia14 | 19 | 85 | 120 | | United Forever | 4 | 60 | 90 | | Agent David | 4 | | 60 | | aldrofj | 3 | 10 | 30 | | emre99 | 2 | | 15 |
df_Trek ties up with Aquarius for the lead as Selwink closes in on Abhishek for the final podium spot. Not a lot of changes behind them.

Top 5
1) Chris Froome
2) Tom Dumoulin
3) Miguel Angel Lopez
4) Richard Carapaz
5) Domenico Pozzovivo
KOM: Chris Froome
Points: Elia Viviani
U25: Miguel Angel Lopez
Answer to the Bonus Question: How many stages will be won by the final GC top 5? is 4 (Froome - 2: Stages 14 and 19, Dumoulin - 1: Stage 1, Carapaz - 1: Stage 8)
Chris Froome came back in the final to wipe out a three minute deficit and win the Giro. Dumoulin looked to be the top favourite given Yates peaking early, but he couldn't beat the Briton at the end. Miguel Angel Lopez picked up an attritional podium after Pinot had to retire overnight before the final stage. Carapaz announced himself onto the big stage, with 4th, while Pozzovivo will be disappointed to have finished only 5th after being in podium contention with three stages to go. Froome also picked up the KOM jersey, securing it with points on the last climb of the race. Viviani's consistency easily won him the Points jersey. Lopez had to fight hard to keep the U25s title away from Carapaz.
The combination of Froome, Dumoulin and Lopez was very popular, with eight members picking that trio. They were handsomely rewarded. Froome was not picked by four members, while Dumoulin was kept out by just one! Lopez made it onto 10 teams but Carapaz wasn't picked at all! Pozzovivo was moderately popular, with five picks. No one picked Froome to win the KOM jersey. All but two members picked Viviani for the POints and all but one picked Lopez to win the U25s. Only two members correctly answered the bonus question, with everyone else going for higher number of wins for the GC toppers, which wasn't to be.
With their correct picks of Froome, Dumoulin and Lopez in the GC, Viviani for the Points, Lopez for the U25s and correctly answering the bonus question, roturn and Freitas pick up the joint win in this race. Purepasd with Pozzovivo, but without points for the bonus picks up third. 155 was a popular score in this race, scored by five predictors, but they didn't even make the podium!
The table sees huge changes after this high-scoring race:
| Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | | df_Trek | 22 | 120 | 580 | | Aquarius97 | 22 | 80 | 545 | | Selwink | 22 | 75 | 545 | | AbhishekLFC | 22 | 105 | 545 | | Raziz | 22 | 95 | 520 | | roturn | 22 | 100 | 510 | | purepasd | 21 | 85 | 480 | | FreitasPCM | 22 | 95 | 475 | | Marcovdw | 22 | 140 | 450 | | hillis91 | 22 | 70 | 445 | | jandal7 | 20 | 110 | 410 | | trekbmc | 12 | 95 | 290 | | United Forever | 5 | 60 | 245 | | Croatia14 | 20 | 85 | 210 | | Agent David | 5 | | 175 | | aldrofj | 3 | 10 | 30 | | emre99 | 2 | | 15 |
df_Trek is the new leader. There is a three-way tie for 2nd as Aquarius loses ground again, and is caught by Selwink and Abhishek. Raziz and roturn make huge strides towards the podium but Marco loses out big time. As also does Croatia, trekbmc and jandal, all of whom score in two digits, the only ones to do so in this race. Croatia loses his spot to Agent David, who has started 15 races less! Freitas and hillis both climb up the standings, as also does purepasd.

A really long time since i wasn't in the top of standings, but my predictions have been somehow disappointing so i think it's fair being down in second. Hopefully i can be back to my early season form and come back to the lead

You got 10 points for his 4th place, plus for Viviani winning Points and MAL winning U25s. Total 90 points

Can I please get my compensation points for two of my riders getting sick and one having lots of bad luck?

I'd have to compensate everyone by that logic
