I can tell you TMM would switch his vote to Bikex in a heartbeat but he hasn't been online since this morning so he's missing the current drama.

And if the two mafia were voting for the same person, you and Bikex would be mafia, which is a 50% chance in my view

Now the question for me is whether it's hillis or trekbmc. I thought hillis wouldn't be online anymore so trekbmc fakes he didn't read anything, but now I'm not sure.

So how is don't give a gun to TMM not a rule yet?
It's been interesting to follow from the outside, I think it would have made more sense for Marco to claim Mason's before TMM, to me that would have read as more genuine, than a defensive/panic claim and might have been enuiogh to convince Trek.

The last day was nerverecking. A lot less activity this time around, so each post ment more imo.
Who did you have pegged as mafia?
And who was the detective?

Nice one, but I figured out that less active you are, less suspicious you get against, or at least this was the way it worked this time. I never had suspect on them until they won, if I was still alive probably I would have voted following trek (original one), so in a bad way

Honestly, there was so little to go on that the fact that the strong players were getting picked off and Bikex and Trek were both alive meant to me that one was mafia and the trying to keep the other one alive to set them up so I was very surprised to not see them going after each other and is what I would have been questioning most throughout the game.
Although I think being eliminated first the previous game suggests I might not have been around long enough to do so.
I didn't really get a read on who the detective was but I think df_trek might have been gunsmith, mainly because TMM got a gun.
I did have df_trek pegged as town though, I can't see the other mafia member letting him panic post like that unless they weren't online since he started getting accused as surely they would have messaged him to give advice or try and devise a strategy to shift focus to someone else.

The last 2 games have proven that the less active the town is in posting and trying to question people the easier it is for the mafia.
Mafia V where we reached 25 pages had so much more discussion to go off of as me, Croatia and Bikex were very active townie's and Trek was a mason, so not a great power role, and he was also very active so we created a lot more discussion, admittedly we ended up going against each other a little bit but there was a lot more to off of and we forced the mafia to speak and whilst they didn't slip up enough for us to win that game we at least forced them to have to be more careful about not slipping up by forcing them to post more to avoid being targeted as a non active player that wasn't helping anyway.
Are masons a useful role? I'm wondering if there is anythhing else that could replace them the would help with balancing the game, especially for player numbers like this where it is borderline between 2/3 mafia members or if we get enough to be borderline 3/4 mafia members.

I really like masons as a role. In fact if i could pick any role for the next game i would probably pick mason. It's a very fun role. You have a 100% sure town read on someone else, you can discuss your little reads and tells with someone else even if you dont want to post them yet for whatever reason and you can use it to effectively make yourself a confirmed townie at the early / medium stages of the game. If they play it well they can use the role to organize the town quite effectively. Sadly we have yet to see that. The closest to use that role (as far as i can tell) have been tmm/marco with their claim this season and me way back in game one when i brought the focus on everyone who was bandwaggoning my mason partner NTTHRASH day one.

Congrats to the mafia duo.
I dont want to say you played the game great because you werent pressured to do so but you won deservedly because you played better than the town.
Best player of the game imo: Bikex. He went completely under my radar and i dont think the fake claim would have worked if he hadnt hiden so well previously.
My top suspects throughout the game (in chronological order) for those who are interested:
- croatia
- trek and hillis
- hillis and Bikex
Mostly for very minor reasons because sadly there wasnt much to analyze. But i have to admit that even in the end i didnt really trust the masons duo either.
Random thoughts:
- i absolutely cannot blame trek to vote for tmm at the end. i struggled to really believe the masons because it looked super weird that they didnt work together at all. I'd have expected that they decide on their own who is gonna get lynched the final day.
- tmm had the game in his hand the last day. With a mason partner and a gun he was in the perfect position to get at least one mafia member. I would have loved if he claimed mason first as that would reduce the doubts on him massively after jdogs lynch vote and it would likely trigger a counter claim because the mafia can hardly afford two basically confirmed town members and then you could have used the gun to kill whoever counter claims. if nobody counter claims then you can still shot jseadog although chances are you might be able to convince them from your new position of power without as well
- can we please ban the gunsmith from further games? I'm tired seeing countless weapons giving out to players still fully in doubt...
- i hope that in future games people are a lot more cautious to lynchvote on the final (lynch correctly or lose) day because the two mafia members can organize a quick double vote to end it if just a single town member votes for a single other town member.
- i think the town played it horrible at times during the early days. it never felt like anyone was trying to find the mafia at any point and it was super frustrating to watch.
- all those lynch nobody votes in the early stages of the first days really take away a lot of dynamic and hinder the chance to get useful information
- thanks for organizing this once again, jandal! Also thanks for not blocking me on skype throughout the season

I have a suggestion for the next game setup:
- start with a day period
- no power roles at all (at most masons or doctor if the participation numbers are on the edge between 2/3 or 3/4 mafia members)
- longer day periods (5 dayish?)
I believe this would massively increase the action in the game. I know this might seem contra-intuitive as not many members have shown good skills in hunting mafia yet but i believe this will help future games a lot and it would make the next game more interesting to watch.
Why? Right now many town members seem to wait for hints to magically appear and mostly those will have to come from the detective. That can work as seen from Ian in a previous season but just as often (especially in a season like this with only one detectable mafia member) it wont.
By getting rid of this kind of information the town will have to actively look for hints right from the beginning and they can no longer afford to no lynch so often (well they shouldnt think they could in the current format too but that is another matter). I think this would have to be coupled with longer day periods to make it harder to lurk around and to let discussions evolve. The longer periods should also be a bit more friendly to those with reduced availability as it doesnt hurt as much to be away for a weekend or stuff like that.
We can happily return to the current format afterwards but i think one game with this changed setup would be great.

Ugh, trying to make that call off 6 pages of talk, really hard call as there was almost nothing to base it on, I tried thinking of who each player should vote in their eyes, but that didn't even add up, overanalysed posts with nothing in it but it was just too hard. Sorry about messing it up.
Congrats bikex and hilis though and thanks so much for the game jandal!

TMM still has a gun (I'd bet on the gunsmith being a first timer )
Called it!

Longer day periods sounds really good just as long as it's not so long that it gets boring, maybe if there's no post for 12 hours or something we end it, but on days like today, a little extra time to think about it and hear the arguments would have made it much better, TMM never had a chance to change his vote and I only woke up a few minutes before the day's intended ending time.
As for no power roles though, I'm not sure I agree, masons are fun firstly, though it confuses me why they never out themselves earlier, while the doctor I think is an essential role as it promotes discussion, the most active and helpful players are (in theory) the most likely to die, so a level of protection for them is imo beneficial to discussion.
I think the detective would be more fun too, if it was played well by both the detective and the town, but given the town are relying on it, maybe it's not such a bad idea to get rid of it for a season at least. Another alternative is to replace the terrorist/goon in a three person game with a roleblocker, now when the detective reveals, if they haven't caught the roleblocker, they won't get another try to use their ability, so they might choose to not reveal and instead just hint at who they know is mafia without being too obvious.
Also, since TMM always ends up shooting a townie, I can understand the appeal of getting rid of the gunsmith, maybe a vigilante who has 1/2 shots but dies if they shoot a townie could be an interesting replacement? Would also mean it's risky for the joker to be too obvious.

I used it to confirm myself a couple games back when I was mason with Aquarius, he died early, but at the least it was a much more effective use than in other games.
Also, who was detective/doctor?

Ah sh*t, i couldn't get online to do anything amongst all that discussion. Crappy timing. My free time vanished this weekend under various tasks and jobs around the house. Without that i'd have held off and shot someone much later in the day instead of at the start, but couldn't guarantee getting online to do that.
Definitely confirmed my thoughts that this game, whilst it works online, has some flaws. Mainly if no-one writes anything, nothing happens. Much easier to barely write anything at all and hardly get involved. Even doing that at the end would have been the smarter option, but also far less fun! And if it's not fun, what's the point?
Didn't really get the Joker addition, i still don't understand why it's a thing or why Town or Mafia should care about it? And for this amount of people one less Town Power role i think would have been better, more than 50% of Town as active roles is too high for me.
Next time, if there is one, i like Knockouts idea to have now power roles. Would make the gameplay more interesting and force more involvement from players.
And finally, thanks for the gun
