But it's at least good to show that other (somewhat) Oceania focused can TTT, though it's still a few steps up to the level of Jayco in that particulare discipline.
@croatia Thanks! Around 400 points ahead of our plan to reach 2800 points (though we might have to get even more points than that to promote), so can't be anything other than happy with the season so far.
June is over, at least in the world outside Mexico. We're still awaiting the results from the Monterrey TTT, but according to the latest reports a fax with the results is on the way to Europe.
Outside the TTT in Monterrey, Grieg-Eftel raced in four races. First up was the Lincoln GP. A win goal for the team, but unfortunately Jan Polanc turned out to be just a bit too strong. Lukasz Wisniowski attacked late on, but the finishing line came too soon. Still, a good 2nd place to kick off our month and with Luke Rowe on 11th place.
We continued with the double header Post Danmark Rundt and Tour de Slovenie. Both quite similar races in terms of profile, but only one turned out to be successful for us. Calvin Watson raced to 11th place and the youth jersey in Danmark, while we finished Slovenie with a big fat zero in the point column.
After over three months out of competition, Edvald Boasson Hagen marked his return to PCT racing in the Nelspruit Classic. And he delivered yet again! Nobody could match his speed on the last kilometre, setting him up for his third win of the season. From his four races so far, he stands with victory in the Colombo Classic, GC victory in Vuelta al Pais Vasco, victory in Nelspruit Classic and 2nd place in Strade Bianche.

With the latest rankings update we now sit at 4th place in the rankings. With a good gap down to 6th place we are still looking very positvely at our promotion chances this season.
Outside of the Monterrey TTT, we only have three one-day races in July. First up is the Isle of Man ITT. While we do have plenty of guys that can TT well, the combination of TT and hills is not our strongest. Hopefully we can still fight for a top 10. Rasmus Sterobo, Zakkari Dempster and Josh Atkins are our three riders present for the race.
Already the next day we have Ringerike GP. As our only race on Norwegian soil this season, it's one of the most important races for us and also a win goal. After Wisniowski just missed out on our win goals in De Panne and Lincoln GP (second in both), we hope Edvald Boasson Hagen will succeed in our final goal race of the season.
Eddy will be supported by Calvin Watson, Kristoffer Skjerping, Michael Vink, Michael Olsson, Rhys Gillett, Sindre Lunke and Amund Grøndahl Jansen.
Our final race of the month is some torture planned by the MGUCI. We hope to have a couple of riders finishing the Kenya Mountain Classic. Our eight riders carefully "chosen" for this nightmare of a race: Kristoffer Skjerping, Rhys Gillett, Michael Olsson, Sindre Lunke, Mads Würtz, Truls Korsæth, Amund Grøndahl Jansen and Søren Kragh Andersen.
July is well concluded for Grieg-Eftel, and it turned out be a relatively good month for us. In the delayed Monterrey TTT we arrived as one of the three big favourites, and everything but a podium would also had been a disappointment. In a very tight race we didn't have the margins on our side, ending third, five seconds behind Generali and one second behind UBS.
While we have a lot of TT strength, the hilly route in the Isle of Man ITT meant our expectations was a bit lower. Still, our riders performed better than we anticipated. Dempster finished 6th, with Atkins 15th and Sterobo 26th. A soild amount of points then before the long awaited Ringerike GP.
As a win goal and our only race on home soil in Norway this season, we were thrilled to see that Edvald Boasson Hagen really arrived motivated for our home race. Attacking twice, he got the gap he needed with his second try.

An absolutely dominant performance which saw him winning the race by close to one and a half minute. His fourth win of the season, and so far he has really shown why we spent so much money on him in the transfer season.
The month was concluded with the Kenya Mountain Classic. Rhys Gillett our best at 65th place. The management first believed our best rider was Skjerping in 129th place, but yeah, anonymous nevertheless.
While we have never been a team with a focus on the mountians, the result does highlight why we have been very worried about the upcoming month. After July we will yet again find ourselves in promotion zone and with a pprd well over 26 points. How that will look after a very hectic August will be cruical for our promotion chances.
5th of August marks our first race day of the month, and we'll be racing on two fronts.
Our biggest hopes certainly lays in the Clasica San Sebastian, where we hope that Edvald Boasson Hagen will continue his winning streak. Surely also needed to get off to a good start to the month, and hopefully something that will work as a morale boost for the team.
Supporting him will be Calvin Watson, Kristoffer Skjerping, Zakkari Dempster, Shane Archbold, Johan Lindgren, Sindre Lunke and Søren Kragh Andersen.
At the same time we also start in the Österreich Rundfahrt. With two mountain stages at the start, and one later on as well, our hopes in the race are very limited. To get something out of this race, we need to see an attacking display, hopefully getting in the right breaks and perhaps the final TT.

That's also because the Volta a Portugal starts when the Österreih Rundfahrt enters the final two days. For a team like us, we always try to avoid the mountains, but given that we have to choose bands, some of the races in the mountains can't be avoided.
Luckily it's only one mountain stage in this race, and therefore we have a bit bigger hopes than in Austria - despite meeting PT competition. It should also be a nice opportunity for Samuel Caldeira to show himself on home soil, if he can find some form.
Our team for Portugal: Calvin Watson, Zakkari Dempster, Samuel Caldeira, Michael Vink, Sindre Lunke, Truls Korsæth and Søren Kragh Andersen.
And yes, that is indeed only seven riders! Why you ask? Well, August also marks our only triple clash of the season!
Baltic Chain Tour begins on the 14th of August, and is certainly a race we have been looking forward - well mostly the prologue.
With a length of 3 km and on cobbles, it's probably the race/stage where Lukasz Wisniowski will have the biggest expectations. Granted a good prologue, he should be able to hold on to a good place in the GC. It's a race for the sprinters though, and Luke Rowe will be our man challenging for the top 10s there. With him also boosting a good prologue combined with his abilites on the cobbles, he should also be aiming for a top 10.
The other five riding the race: Josh Atkins, Johan Lindgren, Mads Würtz, Øystein Stake Laengen and Amund Grøndahl Jansen.
Last up, though with still both the Baltic Chain Tour and Volta a Portugal running, is the Manx International. The hilly race was a success for us back in 2015, with Travis Meyer finishing 3rd and Christopher Juul-Jensen in 5th place. A repeat of that isn't expected, but we hope that the win is possible this time!
Edvald Boasson Hagen is of course the main man yet again, and he'll be supported by Kristoffer Skjerping, Rasmus Sterobo, Rhys Gillett, Michael Olsson, Shane Archbold.
That means a total of 27 race days between the 5th of August to the 20th of August! It will be a huge month for us, and if we still can be in the promotion zone after August we can look very bright on our chances for promotion, given that we will be racing in all available HC and PTHC races in September and October, and also some C1 races.
We will also have Amund Grøndahl Jansen, Søren Kragh Andersen and Mads Würtz riding under Wiesenhof colors in the Tour de l'Avenir.
If EBH performs and gets both classic wins (or at least 1), and Wisniowski delivers in the cobbled prologue, it will be a huge month for you, and if you can get some lucky results in Portugal and Austria that can almost secure your promotion spot, given that EBH still has some RD's left, right?
That's what I'm hoping! Yeah, Eddy have used 14 RD so far, so with the 4 used in August, he'll have 11 left (Ukraine, Milano-Torino, Emilia and Japan Cup) for the rest of the season.
Very nice to see EBH carry the team this well in the hunt for promotion. At the moment it looks rather safe, especially seeing he has more race days left than he has used.
Also looking forward to see how especially Wisniowski does in the prologue in Baltic Chain Tour. They seem to be pretty random, but the cobbles and Wisniowski's very nice combination of stats for such a stage, really should see him be in the mix for a top result. Then of course it's most likely all about damage limitation for the rest of the race
There is an important point here. When/If Eddy delivers promotion you have a more PT ready team than anyone else with 2 PT quality leaders already (Wisnovski might need a bit of training) and 1 million cap space for another top quality leader

Re Baltic, it's probably the stage I've been looking forward to the most this season
@Heine That's certainly our hope and one of the reasons we were willing to gamble on getting EBH in our team. Yeah, training Wisniowski is certainly the plan.
Well, Baltic Chin should be an easy win in the Prologue for Wisniowski. If it wasn't for him I would've sent Polanc only for that, because he would've been clear second in line, but with Wisni it's just not worth to sacrifice the 4 sprinters days for the opening prologue
Yet another month is close to the end, and it was a hectic one for Grieg-Eftel. Three victories and three second places meant it was plenty to cheer for, but in the end plenty of anonymous racing as well.
The month started brilliantly. The Clasica San Sebastian turned out to be a real thriller between the two best puncheurs in the PCT. Edvald Boasson Hagen quickly reacted when Tejay van Garderen attacked in Bordako Tontorra, the final climb of the race. The two stayed together to the end, with Eddy leading out the sprint down in San Sebastian. Despite having to give the slipstream to the American, he just managed to stay ahead and thus adding yet another big classic to his ever growing palmarès.
WIN: Yet another win for Edvald Boasson Hagen, but definitely the one with the smallest margin so far.
At the same we started the Österreich Rundfahrt. With no mountain leaders, breakways was the main priority for the race. Michael Olsson managed to get in the break on the third stage, a break that went all the way. After attacking in the final, the Swede held a small lead going into the last kilometer. Unfortunately the finish line was just 50 meters too far away, but at least a good second place on the stage.
CLOSE: But just a little to bit far away for Michael Olsson.
The rest of the race didn't bring anything noteworthy for our team.
The same can be said for the Volta ao Portugal that followed. After Zakkari Dempster got a 4th place on the opening prologue, the rest of the race was just horrible for our team. A display that we are truly ashamed of, just strolling around doing absolutely nothing. In the end Michael Vink and Calvin Watson managed to sneak inside the top 100, but it will go down as a race to forget.
The two other races we had at the same time went much better.
We had extremly big hopes for the prologue in the Baltic Chain Tour. Unfortunately it didn't go the way he had hoped. A major upset saw Lukasz Wisniowski only finishing in 2nd place, one second behind Julien Vermote.
Together with Luke Rowe, they tried their luck in the sprints the following days. And when it looked like we were gonna leave the race more or less empty handed, the big Pole delivered yet again. After first attacking with 3km to go, he came back in the mass sprint against the likes of Cavendish, Gueraro, Kennaugh and Holloway, taking a straight out sensational win and thus jumping to 2nd overall.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE: Lukasz Wisniowski stunned the sprinters in Baltic Chain Tour. Luke Rowe had an extremly fast finish on the last stage, but would probably have preferred the finish line to have been 100 meters after where it actually was, as he got a 9th place on the stage
Also Luke Rowe delivered a steady race and managed a 12th place in the GC - two results that saw Wisniowski going over the 750 points mark and Rowe passing 250 points.
Over to the last race of the month, the Manx International. And we can't do anything else than salute the man that is Edvald Boasson Hagen. After first following the attack from Michal Kwiatkowski, he jumped again before the top of the final hill. Nobody could follow him, and he took yet another solo win, 40 seconds ahead of the bunch.
A brilliant win, but given how badly the races in Austria and Portugal was point wise, we still took quite a hit to our pprd overall, after a month with 413 points over 27 race days - a month of 15,3 pprd.

History in the making?
So far it's been a straight out stunning season for the Norwegian. Not counting the wild card races, he's been present for 18 race days so far. After taking a dominant solo win in the PTHC Colombo Classic, he suffered his only defeat so far in Strade Bianche. A smart and good Aleksandar Flügel just managed to hold him off on the Piazza del Campo.
Of course, he didn't actually win any stages in the Vuelta al Pais Vasco that followed, but with an enormous stability he got his first GC win in the race, also securing the points jersey.
Since then he has competed in - and won - the Nelspruit Classic, Ringerike GP, Clasica San Sebastian and Manx International.
Victories in six of his seven races mean that he's already picked up a stunning 990 points according to our calculations, and look all set to be the first in the division to crack the 1000 mark. Following our own calculations, he's now first in the individual rankings ahead of Andrey Amador (932 points) and Tejay van Garderen (878 points).
With van Garderen only having 4 race days left (Emilia and Japan Cup) and Amador 7 race days left (Vuelta a Colombia and Tour of East Java), Boasson Hagen looks like the biggest favourite to take the individual PCT crown.
The question is frankly, could he also write history? After securing 990 points in his first 18 race days, he has a pprd at 55 points. Given that he will use his full 29 allocated race days, that means he currently is projected to end up with 1595 points.
So, Eddy, can you manage an additional 488 points to get up to the same level as this years winner of the Giro d'Italia.
Let's see what's next for the Norwegian.
First up is the Tour of Ukraine, quite possibly the race where we have the least expectations, but at the same time the most important one. A stage race with 5 stages, with two hilly stages.
As we have seen from our outings in the PT and in Pais Vasco, EBH is not a guaranteed winner when coming up against some of the best puncheurs from the PT - which we will undoubtely see in Ukraine. A win here will take him a huge step towards the PCT crown, while a podium is probably needed if we intend to surpass Alarcón.
At least a 150 points needed (125 points for third place overall) from this race to have a realistic chance at reaching 1478.
In Ukraine he'll by supported by Calvin Watson, Kristoffer Skjerping, Michael Vink, Sindre Lunke, Samuel Caldeira, Truls Korsæth and Søren Kragh Andersen.
Before Eddy's next race, we'll be present for the Vuelta a Colombia and Rheden GP as well. The first one will be without any expectations. A mountainous race where we'll have Samuel Caldeira, Rhys Gillett, Michael Olsson, Sindre Lunke, Mads Würtz, Truls Korsæth, Amund Grøndahl Jansen and Søren Kragh Andersen.
Breaks, please!
Rheden GP is a race where we have some real ambitions. Lukasz Wisniowski enters as captain, aiming for a place amongst the top 10, with Luke Rowe hoping to get amongst the top 20.
A race with fond memories for us, after Matteo Trentin got a 3rd place in 2015.
They will be supported by Josh Atkins, Johan Lindgren, Mads Würtz, Øystein Stake Laengen, Amund Grøndahl Jansen and Søren Kragh Andersen.
Then we are back to Eddy again and our final race of September. Milano-Torino, a race he finished 10th back in 2008. Now he's hoping to get another win and classic to his name.
As it's only a C1 classic, a win and 80 points is absolutely needed.
He'll be supported by Calvin Watson, Kristoffer Skjerping, Michael Vink, Rhys Gillett, Michael Olsson, Sindre Lunke and Amund Grøndahl Jansen.
So, September will hopefully bring in another 230-250 points, bringing EBH to around 1220 points before the final month of the season. There he'll be racing twice, and both against his main rival, Tejay van Garderen.
First up is the Giro dell' Emilia - a race he raced back in 2009 and 2010, finishing in 5th and 15th place.
He has to aim for the win, which would give him another 140 points, bringing him up to 1360 points.
He'll be supported by Calvin Watson, Kristoffer Skjerping, Michael Vink, Rhys Gillett, Michael Olsson, Sindre Lunke and Mads Würtz.
The same day we are also back in Portugal, looking for revenge after the awful Volta ao Portugal. With a rolling course, we hope to see a similar performance as in the final stage in Baltic Chain Tour - sending Lukasz Wisniowski and Luke Rowe (12th place last year) as captains.
They'll be accompanied by Zakkari Dempster, Samuel Caldeira, Shane Archbold, Truls Korsæth, Amund Grøndahl Jansen and Søren Kragh Andersen.
Luke Rowe will also be leading us in the Barbados Cycling Festical a few days later. As our best sprinter, he was the obvious choice for the sprinter fest of the season.
Zakkari Dempster, Kristoffer Skjerping, Rasmus Sterobo, Mads Würtz, Truls Korsæth, Amund Grøndahl Jansen and Søren Kragh Andersen will be looking to take their opportunies in the breakaway.
Next up then is Tour of East Java, the race we opted for when having two race days left. Not the biggest hopes tho'. Breakaway please!
We'll race with the following: Samuel Caldeira, Michael Vink, Rhys Gillett, Michael Olsson, Shane Archbold, Johan Lindgren, Sindre Lunke and Ken Sebastian Vassdål.
Then we'll have the final two races of the season, on our two favourite terrains. First out is GP Kigali. One of the few races on cobbles where Luke Rowe won't participate, as the race in Barbados was his last of the season.
Lukasz Wisniowski will of course race as captain, hoping to get one final trip up to the podium.
He'll be supported by Josh Atkins, Johan Lindgren, Mads Würtz, Øystein Stake Laengen, Truls Korsæth, Amund Grøndahl Jansen and Søren Kragh Andersen.
So, that leads us up to our final race of the season. Hopefully we'll have Edvald Boasson Hagen at at least 1360 points before Japan Cup. Once again he'll face Tejay van Garderen, amongst others, in a race where a win will most likely be needed to surpass Alarcón and even reach the 1500 points mark.
He has a 8th place in this race from 2010, the same result Travis Meyer got in our only previous apperance in this race in 2015.
He'll be supported by Calvin Watson, Kristoffer Skjerping, Michael Vink, Michael Olsson, Rhys Gillett, Sindre Lunke and Amund Grøndahl Jansen.
Can we get a win this time? Well, fingers crossed!
I think it will be very hard to look around you for the title, only Berg should compete with you for that. Your squad has done an amazing job this year, of course grounded on some nice management. I like your team a lot, so I'll cheer for you in many of those races if it's not our day. Surely your great current position is very well deserved, a lime bucket of luck to you from Slovenia for the final part of the season. Grab that title!
Might be hard to reach those 1500 points with EBH, but as you have already calculated, not that hard. He would only to keep his amazing shape of all-year, something that looks possible, with Ukraine being the key race.
I think that it needs a perfect season for EBH and Wisniowski on what they have left to get away with the PCT title. Berg is really strong and with their great hilly and mountain depth, they are clearly the favourites

Don't quite remember all the races you have done since the last rankings update, but I'll guess you're still ahead of us, so at least it's looking extremly great for promotion for you, even though you might not have the best races left. I'll try for the title, but I fear it will be too much. Maybe if my support cast finally start adding some points
Yes, AQ, Ukraine is certainly key. If he can get something like 250 points there, then it 1500 looks very doable, if not, it will be a hard task. He's been great so far, so hopefully EBH can continue that all the way through this season.

Eddy getting closer to the record
A new month is over, and yet again it was mostly about THAT guy again. September kicked off with the Tour of Ukraine. Despite winning the queen stage, we came just short of winning the race. In a very even race, Simone Ponzi managed to take the GC two seconds in front of our Boasson Hagen.
Only the second time in a "counting PCT race" that EBH didn't win the race this season, and as in Strade Bianche it was not much between the second place and victory.
After a quiet Vuelta a Colombia, we finished of the month with Rheden GP and Milano-Torino. The first looked very promising going into the last kilometers, with both Lukasz Wisniowski and Luke Rowe being in a selective front group.
Wisniowski also attacked on the final kilometers, but in a bizzare finish the attackers stopped up. In the sprint we got a very disappointing result, 14th for Wisniowski and 20th for Rowe.
But again EBH came to the rescue and secured a good end to the month for us. Once again our support riders didn't bother to race for a result, but they did bring him in a brilliant position before the final climb. There he showed his class yet again. To a certain point we can understand that the team switch a bit off when EBH goes. They have seen him do this time and time again this season, and mostly ending up in victories.
A repeat of that in Milano-Torino, and thus his 6th classics win this season and 8th win including the Pais Vasco GC and the stage win in Ukraine.
Based on our calculations, Boasson Hagen scored 224 points in Ukraine and 80 points in Italy, giving him a month tally of 304 points. A pprd of 43,43, actually a fair bit down from his season overall, that's now 51,76.
A pprd over his 29 race days that will give him 1501 points.
As earlier mentioned, the two remaining races for Boasson Hagen is Giro dell'Emilia and Japan Cup. Both HC rated, and giving 140 points to the winner. Should he continue his brilliant form and win them both, he will get 280 points, taking him up to 1574 points.
But even though it seems like it now, no tree grows to the sky. He will also have though competition, meeting Tejay van Garderen in both races.
So, how to get the 185 points needed to beat Alarcón? Should EBH manage to win one of these races, a 7th place in the other will be enough to get exactly 1479 points (140+45 points).
Other than that, the only way to getting 1479 points without winning is getting 2nd place in both races (98+98 points=196, would give 1492 points). To get 1500 points we need a win and at least a 4th place in the other race (140+70=210, would give 1506 points).
It looks all set for a thrilling finish to the season for our main guy...
Well, what can we say? We can't be anything than super happy about the 2017 season. Steady performances throughout saw us finishing on top of the PCT standings, meaning we're promoting back to the PT. That's the third time we promote, but the first time we promote directly after promoting due to disbandments in 2014 (to PCT) and 2015 (to PT).
The reason behind is mainly two guys. Edvald Boasson Hagen and Lukasz Wisniowski both had fantastic seasons, finishing 1st and 4th in the individual rankings. The pair together alone secured enough points to get 12th place in the standings, only just over 300 points shy of promotion.
Boasson Hagen even set a new record in the PCT, after being the first rider to get over 1500 points in the same season. He managed that after taking the win in the season final in Japan Cup, where he yet again showed his class by soloing to the win.

So what's next for Grieg-Eftel now? What seems certain is that some of our older riders will probably leave during renewals. Leaving is also Sindre Skjøstad Lunke after spending the season on loan from Aker-Mot.
Our cobbles department have already booked a house in Flanders to prepare perfectly for the upcoming classics campaign.
The big rumours coming through is that the management is also preparing to finally sign some riders who can go well in the mountains, making it a team that can challenge on all terrains the next season.
We still have the national and world championships again this season, but fingers crossed for a good winter where our riders can take some steps further. After much racing this season, we can already report on some development from our riders.
First is Amund Grøndahl Jansen, who learned a lot from riding with Lukasz Wisniowski on the cobbles this season. His developement is looking bright.

In Wurtz you relly do have one of the biggest talents arround, and he's definetely one to watch in the U-23 scene, Andersen could either be a flop or a huge hit but the latter does indeed more likely, perfect to support Eddy and Lukasz
Yes, very happy with the month and the result in Olympia's Tour - even though it could have been better. But it's at least good to show that other (somewhat) Oceania focused can TTT, though it's still a few steps up to the level of Jayco in that particulare discipline.
