Romandie saw three huge rider efforts:
- Roglic might be the best 1-week-stage racer this year so far and hence one of the top CQ riders in the league table. After Pais Vasco he also has won Romandie now and being top scorer. Having Dennis as well sees Abishek winning with a big margin.
- Bernal is one of the greatest uphill riders this season. Could he even surprise in a GT? At least by the look of it, he could be Sky`s number 2 or 3 already. Who knows? Maybe even #1? Thomas in Romandie was not very good and Bernal was just beaten by Roglic with couple seconds. Huge race for jseadog. 1 rider in the race but 308 points scored!
- De Gendt! This guy is awesome. Winning multiple stages in his career. Mainly on WT level in the big races and this year already the second time from a break. In addition to this, he often lands high KoM positions and here he has even won it. Plus he also took the point competition and hence nice points for Jandal!
Other mentions to Fuglsang for ivaneurope or Kruijswijk for Marcovdw while Latour (Ollfardh), Buchmann (NV) and Daniel Felipe MArtinez (dominox) show their talent once more with decent GCs.
Full April rankings likely on Wednesday. Not yet available with Romandie included.
De Gendt <3 What a race. Roglic is an awesome pick, Bernal as well. Shame Gorka didn't do so well, but some nice points from Tommy for my struggling team
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant." [PT] Xero Racing
April started with Pais Vasco and then over to Paris Roubaix and the Ardennes Classics. Hence big classics and lots of scoring did happen this month.
Most recently the Tour de Romandie as last WT event while Eschborn Frankfurt goes into the May Update.
Some smaller races with the Tour of the Alps and in Croatia as also Scheldeprijs, Brabantse Pijl and several more should make a lot of changes.

What a month for Abishek. From 8th to 1st in one month scoring almost as much in April as the bottom teams in total! Big name behind this success is clearly Roglic! Winning both WT stage races in April was key here. Plus having an Ardennes winner in Valgren, a consistent scorer in Kreuziger and couple others such as Dennis, Barbero or Campenaerts shows the depth of his team this month.
dominox remains in 2nd but couldn`t perform as strong as in March, where he even topped Abishek`s Aprol score. Still 2nd best as well this month with Jungels` win in LBL being great for him as also Carapaz most recently in Asturias.
NicoVirenque drops from 1st to 3rd and history seems to repeat as it was very similar in 2017. Mainly Buchmann though keeping him up as the young German did very consistent this season and maybe has a big step left for the Vuelta later this year.
Then Marcovdw, trekbmc, jandal, hillis, jseadog all remain in the top half with consistent scoring.
At the bottom baseballlover had a fantastic month jumping from last 6 spots higher being the 4th best scorer in April. Pozzovivo, Woods, Vanmarcke and Majka his main riders and hence the Giro could be huge with first two leading their teams in solid form.
Instead Croatia is in last spot with Ollfardh, sutty, ivaneurope and matt just ahead. All 5 the only teams below 2000 points yet. Mainly their sprinters did not deliver yet. Cavendish, Gaviria, Degenkolb all with unfortunate spring racing this season.

~40% is done but the biggest scoring in the GTs yet to start. NV with 56% and trekbmc with 52% of their riders 2017 total though is impressive
dominox just under 50% following while Abishek is impressive at 44% seeing the big amount of 2017 scoring. Most big 2017 scorers find themselves in the lower end of that percentage table.
We have a new individual leader. Roglic, the master of 1-week-stage races takes over from Viviani with Wellens following in 3rd! Huge seasons for all of them.
Next up Terpstra, who was strongest in the cobbled classics this year while Benoot in 5th should boost as well since he celebrated his first win this season after years of high consistency.
Impey slowly drops but still is the best in comparison to 2017. Bernal already higher than last year and could become a big threat of overperformer of the season if he continues like this and maybe even in one GT.
Same could be said about Miguel Angel Lopez, since he didn`t start his 2017 season before May.

Craddock at 580% being best in comparison to 2017 but with a total of 87pts, this doesn`t say a lot.
Rohan Dennis slowly drops in the ranking, where you want to drop after being 1st here last month.
Instead Felline with a huge differential between 2017 and 2018 at this date. Henao Montoya as well but (for me hopefully) does good in the Giro.
Vichot, Albasini and Durbridge all far from their 2017 performance due to health issues/bad luck or just no form.
Kittel/Degenkolb then following with a hard time here. First had an off season 2 years ago, then a strong one last year and now another struggling one. Maybe strong again next year?
People clearly missed out on Ackerman. The Bora sprinter having his breakthrough year it seems with a win in Romandie and consistent top positions. With Sagan focussing on the classics, Bennett and Ackerman share the 1-week races fairly and both are doing fine.
Ovechkin "dominating" the small races while Dyball and Gasparotto also could have been good picks just like Hodeg of course.
Here we are. The first GT of the year starts this week and hence here the full startlist with huge scoring potential.
alexkr00 with 10 riders topping the list with roturn (9) and Marco (8) following. Lowest amount by matt with 2 and couple of managers with 3 and 4 participants.
Ragarding the top riders, see the last Giro preview as also the list below.
Well, i thought we would be in a much worse position, though we are only 500 points ahead of the last place. Mid-table at this point is good given that neither Chaves or Coquard have scored consistenly so far
Wow, Abhishek killing it there! Looks like I know who we'll be 2nd to this time round.
We're still going well, just lurking near the top.
Our problem is that Gallopin has been rather average while Nizzolo has been outright terrible, big hit to take from our top 2 guys, while otherwise Terpstra, Van Aert, De Bie, Debusschere, Siutsou and Vendrame have been awesome. And I love how precense we have on the overperformers rankings, #4, #9, #10, #12, plus 2 other guys on there.
Van der Hoorn and Herklotz having score nothing is a bit disapointing though.
Also not reflected here, Eschborn - Frankfurt was an awesome race for us with De Bie and Bole doing amazing, while Van Gestel also picked up some points.
Giro looks exciting, not expecting heaps but I think Siutsou or Debusschere could treat us to an interesting race (Brambilla too but I think he has optimistic GC ambitions )
Can we all just appreciate that if this was 2017 I would be destroying everyone
Last year I was towards the bottom of the pack at this time and I had the best scoring out of 2016. I am always a year behind

Two smaller events, but as this is what the game is all about. Also following the less popular riders, here you go with the startlists.
Madrid might not be 100% secured yet.
Tour de Yorkshire
2018-05-03 - 2018-05-06
The Tour de Yorkshire got a 4th stage included and actually might be the hardest with a late hill top finish. ~200m in height on the last 1,8km which means ~8% in average. Could become the decider, though also the stages 3 & 4 aren`t that easy and sprinters might struggle.
Top rider here is Van Avermaet. Other than him the next 29 top rated riders are all in the Fantasy League.
Nico Virenque with Cort Nielsen might do well while jseadog has last years podium finisher in Hivert, who is yet again a good bet here.
Marcovdw with last years winner Pauwels might have some hope, but it will be difficult.
Other strong riders are Weening, Kiserlovski, Dunbar (bbl312), Swift, Lawless, Cavendish, Bibby (sutty), Coquard (Aquarius), Bevin (ember), Moser, Machado (OZrocker) or Stohrer (Tamijo).
sutty with 8 riders clearly the most here but mainly sprinters while the GC should go to the puncheurs and hence bbl312 and OZrocker might be the managers to watch out for.
Really interesting to see updates for the smaller races, I'm slightly surprised none of our guys are in Yorkshire, though looking at my squad there's no real reason to expect them to be.
Sutty could have quite a big race in Yorkshire with a strong bunch of genuine points scorers.
I will hopefully be able to make more of those small ones as I noticed myself that those are "more" interesting due to no TV time or you just follow them less or different and actually this was kind of reason for the original idea of that game.
So whenever I have ~15min spare time, I will at least make startlists for those and results whenever possible.
I agree that these sorts of races are some of the most important - I know that I personally chose a lot of guys who I thought would perform in smaller races rather than larger ones.
Sitting in the bottom half despite having decent looking low pick scorers in Bilbao, O'Connor, Betancur (!), Edmondson, Hoelgaard, Hagen and others, it doesn't help much when my two top pics are far away from their potential and 2017 scorings, and Boom having to sit out the spring campaign after his heart surgery in January.
Poels' lack of scoring is of course understandable, due to the crash in Paris-Nice when he looked set to win.
Then there's Moscon, who I think actually has delivered more points up to this point of the season compared to 2017, but I struggle to see him copy his 2017 autumn, so it would have helped if his classics campaign was stronger
I really need a big Giro from Poels, and then there should be stage potential in O'Connor, Bilbao, Hermans and even Betancur as well, but we shall see how it goes. Most important thing is that they don't crash out or get injured during the race, then they'll at least have the chance to score
ember wrote:

End of Season 2017

So yes, he is doing okay this year despite his main result is 8th in E3 Prijs and 2x top10 in the Mallorca Events while last year it was 5th in Paris Roubaix.
Issue will be to repeat Italian NC, Top6 in both WCs, 5th in Emilia, 7th in Varesine and 3rd in Lombardia.
Might indeed be a tough task.
Then again, there is the good chance, he will improve from his 27th in the Vuelta.
Good to see races with different riders in the top scoring area. Tamijo taking the win in Yorkshire due to high scoring by Eduard Prades and additionally by young Aussie Storer.
bbl312 came clsoe due to Kiserlovski, Dunbar and Bookwalter. In fact, Dunbar`s attacks could have lead to a higher scoring, would the terrain have been a little bit more selective. He surely was impressive.
NicoVirenque with a high scoring duo in Cort Nielsen, who showed a stunning performance on the hill sprint, as also by Anthony Perez. Those delivers him the runner-up behind Tamijo.
Other good performances by last years winner Pauwels for Marcovdw and Bibby for sutty, while ember is getting a bit by Pat Bevin.

3 riders only scored in Madrid. Actually the top 2 CQ riders in the race were the only 2 decent scorers as Barbero for Abishek and Strakhov for matt showed some results.
Bol`s 4 points due to a mid twenty GC position as third best.
The race in the end was not as selective as in the past at times and hence several riders within s.t. in the GC and the first stage order basically was key.
Prologue specialists and sprinters were the main scorers so far in this Giro with just 3 stages in.
No surprise that Viviani scored the best in Israel with 2 stage wins and hence jaxika is in the lead.
Dennis with a 2nd in the prologue and the bonus seconds at the intermediate that gave him the GC lead is runner-up and hence Abishek is in a good position as well with Campenaerts also in the scoring.
alexkr with Marezco, dominox with Modolo and jseadog with Bennett being in decent points as well.
Next days on Sicily should give other riders points as it starts to get hilly and also the first mountain top finish on the Etna is coming.
Startlists
4 Jours de Dunkerque
2018-05-08 - 2018-05-13
Small changes in the startlist might still happen but Dunkerque should see lots of chances for the league riders.
Greipel after injury and Bouhanni with not really a lot of form are the top undraftable riders, then a long list of the Fantasy league.
jaxika with Dupont and Vermeltfoort being high on the list as also hillis with de Haes, Simon and Dumoulin.
matt with de Buyst and Meurisse, NV with Sarreau or Sutty with Hofland, Wippert might also show up while Tamijo has Barbier as his leader.
Some more mentions to Finetto (jseadog), De Bie (trekbmc) or Vantomme (ivaneurope).
