Oh my god yes! Finally one of my talents with a big win. Didn't think MartÃnez would have a chance on such a hilly course.
The really cool thing about the route is that it provides exciting time trials. The better climbers get a time cushion in the beginning that they have to defend until the end against the better riders on the flat. I guess Pulido and Colombo were still ahead in the first time checks?
Thanks for the results Shonak! Now that I've got my win I'll make sure MVDP wins the U23 Road Race.
I'm a little bit disappointed in Koladozhagh in the Quali race, but Boily was decent and Pintzopoulos very good.
Qualificants for the Road Race:
Slovenia

Ukraine
Russia
Slovakia
Switzerland
Qualified:
Venezuela

Wow, our biggest chance of a gold medal couldn't even make the top 10
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Excellent news for Kristjan Koren, qualifying for both World Championships. Moreira was disappointing to say the least, but mountains have always been his weakness.

Shame that Porte did not get to ride this WC ITT course. Would've suited him...

Atkins so close to qualification

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Nice to see the best Time Trialist winning the TT again after two years in which the Australians won. Especially as this was on a route that didn't really suit him. Close miss by Froome, would also have been a deserving winner. Nibali gets me another 4th in the WC.
I have posted the regen ITT WC: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1289299
Check the result for decent talents!
Here is the medal count after the time trials:
| | | | | | Total | 4th | 5th | 1 | | Germany | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | | Great Britain | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 3 | | Argentina | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | | | Costa Rica | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 5 | | Iran | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | | | Spain | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 7 | | United States | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 8 | | Italy | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 9 | | Netherlands | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 10 | | Australia | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 11 | | Ukraine | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 12 | | France | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 |

Great to see a PostNL rider for the first time ever, I'm hoping one of the boys can make a mark in the road race which is more suiting |

Not a bad result for Moser in the TT, though Gaviria was awful. Not that we really care too much about this year's WC, not having anyone who can have a shot at a medal.
And again Tony Martin delivers for Vittel. Congrats Yellow Jersey!

I try to keep away from moaning all together usually but VDP really rode like a dumbfuck in this race. That he still got another bronze medal is honestly hilarious with all this mindless attacks in the wrong moment, although his attack at 18k to go really was super strong... Gratz to Ukraine. Too bad that Castillo got the nod over Pulido in the Spain National Team though. This could have been his race.
Thanks for the vid and result! The slight hill in the end might be something for Bananito. I am not too hopeful of the race in the ELites, seems like the groups merge too often bc riders are not putting in enough work.

Yeah, that finale was a bit boring, somebody should have counterattacked or attacked a little later. I'm happy Aviva was represented in the men's ITT (Dowsett was 60th) and in the U23 RR, with our only rider who's young enough (McCluskey was 71st).

I would like to make an official complaint about the U23 race. Clearly Lambert is the first to cross the line and therefore should be the World Champion! This is outrageous and whoever decided that the other guy is the winner should be fired immediately!
Spoiler Just kidding, but of course I'm sad
