Nice race, happy for Sagan. He saved his classic season with the PR win.
My questions is, what do you think guys if Sagan wasn't with Dillier but with another rider into the breakaway?
Would still have got it in the bag? Because let's face it, the AG2R rider worked a lot along with the world champ.

Impressed by Dillier and very happy to see Taylor Phinney at last back to the big scene.
Then another PR without shitty muddy roads, which the cyclist were happy about BUT that's what this race is all about.
However some blokes did crash nasty which is always sad to see.
That was new on Arenberg, spectators only on one side. The "normal" chaos was omitted then. Safety first but yet agan, that is a highlite in an area of the race that is just plain moving along.

Who knows. I don't think that Sagan could have managed alone but the final 20k he didn't really seem to need Dillier and probably could have gone faster at times. That said, Dillier contributed a lot and made the race a lot easier for Sagan, especially bc of their armistice.

you know UCI points  but still dont understand. Sagan even did not attack. He just went and won

Lame edition I'm sorry to say. A very strong Sagan, but just disappointing how everyone let him ride. He's maybe the best rider in the world and you just give him 30 seconds?
Too bad for Van Aert, looked very strong and maybe even ready for a podium. And of course the most important thing of all, let's hope Goolaerts recovers.

QS probably paid his superiority with other teams not really helping them when out of the breaks...unfortunatly for Gilbert I don't think PR is suited for him, demonstrating his limits in this race compared to top cobblers
Clever Sagan to catch the right occasion and managing very well the effort, lucky to find collaborative riders in the break, he deserved it
chapeau to Dillier, and after all awarded with second place in PR that is not properly nothing (probably with also the best Naesen AG2r wouldn't got better)

Quickstep riders so keen to not be the guy left behind marking the moves that they went really early with plenty of helpers still left in the favourites group. The strength in depth seems to have worked against them at last, though hindsight is a wonderful thing, granted.
Credit to Sagan he bought a ticket, was super strong and found another super strong rider in Dillier up the road. As for Dillier should’ve tried this or that, well it’s easy to say but he would’ve been suffering like a dog to just hold the wheel at times. You can argue he should stop working but then Sagan would probably ride away and Dillier can wave goodbye to second. Even if he stopped working for the last 15km and still stayed with Sagan (big if) then it’s still hard to see any scenario of him beating Sagan. Yes, sprints after 250km are a different beast but he had been out there for so much longer. Just credit for a great performance, staying useful to Sagan and taking an outstanding, unexpected second place.
